S. Matsutani: Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco used to be quite seedy, rundown, and cold in the 1980's, but was worth the drive for the delicious clam chowder bread bowls. A favorite childhood memory of mine is lining up at the outdoor stalls, shivering as we gulped down soup and warm bread at the standing booths. Fisherman's Wharf and its sourdough has changed since then, but the sourdough bread at Frisco Baking Co. somehow captures the same taste and texture of the long lost bread style. My dad passed away last year, but I continue to go to the Frisco bakery and I think of my father with fond memories of sharing that heavenly loaf of Sourdough. Their French bread is also just as amazing and they are so reasonably priced. Highly recommend.
Joe Quan: Delicious sourdough bread in 1.5 lb round loafs. They'll slice them for you by default, or you can ask to leave them whole. They open early 7 days a week and bake each and every day.

As a good writer and home cook/baker, I love a good kitchen supply store and Surfas was simply overwhelming in scope and product—so much for the professional food service and many items that are hard to find for bakers, cake makers, just so many tools. Not to mention an entire refrigerator case dedicated to butter. Came home with lots of fun ingredients and tools!

Jes Anderson: They are my go to birthday cake place because of their location, their ownership, and most importantly the quality and presentation of their cakes. My son is still talking about the strawberry shortcake almost a year later and has requested it for his 4th birthday. It's so easy to order online and schedule a pickup or delivery. I'm a big fan of how easy it's been every year as there are so many other things going on to get ready for the party.
Point taken LayLay: I purchased my birthday cake back in January. I tried to get in contact with a employee from the store to see if I could make a little minor changes to my cake on the day I purchased my cake but it was very hard to get in contact with a employee, I kept calling and after a week in a half later I finally got in contact with somebody from the store. The employee was very helpful and told me that they were unable to make any changes and my cake that I purchased has to be like the actual cake that was displayed on there website, I was okay with that. The day of pick up, I was very happy on how my cake came out, they did a good job but I wished they would have used real cherries instead of fake cherries and also I wished the cake wasn’t a little dry but overall I was happy with my cake. Tamara S. Hall: Felt compelled to leave this review to balance out the others because I had nothing but an amazing and efficient experience with this cake shop! The quality and taste of the cake was DELISH. I hosted a NYE party and everyone loved it, the red velvet cake tasted so light and fresh and rich. I also had a minor change after ordering and they responded and corrected immediately. The delivery driver arrived as promised during the delivery window. And when I called that morning I was able to reach someone after two tries. A little pricey but I would order again.
