Linda S.: Great experience. I took my 13-year-old grandson and he had a blast. I highly recommend it for individuals or groups. Really fun and the staff is friendly and helpful.
John Sheridan: The wife and I went on this LA Kayak tour of the Los Angeles, River this August 13th of 2023. We chose the 12:30pm tour instead of the later one which supposedly is better, because we had prior plans of later in the afternoon. It was $85 a piece which included, a bike ride, Helmut, vest, and kayak as well as a quick lesson on how. to maneuver a kayak, we were beginners, as well as the history of the LA River. You meet up at a small park, be aware there is no restrooms in this small park. Once you check in you go for a shirt bike ride on a beach type bike. You arrive at the start of the trip in what appears to be the nice big backyard of a residence. There is a port potty there as well if you need it. Once there the history of the LA River is discussed as well as how to maneuver a kayak and then you're off. We had two guides go with the group. One was a nice young lady from Poland and another was a young guy I'm guessing of Hispanic descent. They were both very nice and very helpful. A couple times the lady took pictures of us on our kayaks and I figured maybe we could get copies or buy them but that never came up. Too bad because I'd of liked to have gotten a couple. At the end of the trip you ned to help bring the equipment out of the LA River. And then that is is. We chose top put $10 in the tip jar for the guides but you don't have to. There was no pressure to either. But like I said they were very nice and helpful so I was glad to do it. I've lived in LA all my 60 years of life and never did this or thought we ever could. So glad I took the trip and I highly recommend you do too. My only suggestion is instead of taking off at the end I'd stick around and see if you can get copies of the pictures they take on the trip of you.

Cari: This is so fun! Everyone thinks of the LA River as being a cement sewer, but in the Frogtown area and the Sepulveda Basin area it's actually beautiful and green and boatable! I took a tour on the Frogtown area and it has some fun little rapids or adventure areas, but nothing too scary. It's a fantastic way to spend an LA afternoon, or a place to bring out of town guests. The tour guides are really fun, but also safe so you are in good hands.

Brandon Nehl: Such a wonderful experience here! Went with my college class and it was perfect for beginners new to kayaking! The instructors were very informative, very personable, and overall just love their jobs. Kayaking in LA may sound funny to hear but with the amount of vegetation, it blocked out nearly 90% of the traffic sound and truly felt like a safari! I will definitely be back!

Extremely worth the price we paid. We thought this was the only lesson we wanted but We both can’t wait to actually learn more with Tim now! So perfect for teen extracurricular activity too! We saw Sea Lions & Lots of birds. Beautiful ❤️Tip it may look cold but you get hot quick. Don’t over dress like us! We are alway cold and it was 55 degrees out but we both still wish we had worn shorts and a simple long sleeve. Sun screen up even if it’s overcast because when that sun pops through it’s HOT!

Desi RODRIGUEZ: Now operated by the management from the Portofino Hotel as of June 1st. They still serve fuel and soon they will be having rental service and food from the Baleen Restaurant too! This location also serves as the new marina office.

Hector: Friendly staff and reasonable prices. The location is pretty hidden, but that's what makes it better than the other boat/kayak rentals. They don't limit you on how far out you can go, but warn you to pass the pier at your own risk.

They made it very relaxing and there are a great bunch of guys that come out here and are very pleasant to chat with. Any questions, they right away make you feel at ease if you never kayacked before. The kayak experience was awesome, besides the fact that one on board with me didn't know what they were doing.... Lo. Besides the point, we went up close to see the seals and that alone was just a great experience! It was a lot of fun and very cool! I had a blast here. What's great about this place is that you can chill and grab a drink here also. Anyhoo, great place, great people! Great adventure especially if your staying right by the Portofino Hotel! I recommend! 🤗⛵️🛶🚤

Eva Lissik: The staff here is always helpful. It's only $12 an hour and it's prorated so you won't pay for whole hours if you're only out there for two and a half hours. They close pretty early during the winter. During the summer they are open until 6.

Bikes are easy to use. Service was excellent.Hot chocolate was great. The lights were spectacular. And the Christmas spirit around the island was electric. We went on a Wednesday, so parking was a breeze and the canals were not very busy. The weather was perfect, we didn't get cold in the least bit. Would highly recommend as a Christmas tradition for the family. Wow. thank you for the core memory.

Miss HD: HydroBiking along the Marina in LB is a fun experience. I went around 530pm. There was a little currant but mostly smooth. It can definitely be a workout on the quads for sure. I broke a sweat a few times.The view is just spectacular. Folks on boats and paddle boarders are super friendly. Giving us a friendly wave. It's a nice outdoor activity where you can go at your own pace. It's a nice alternative to kayaking or paddling boarding.

Carissa Liu: It’s a fun experience! We booked the water bike at 7:45pm, about 30min before sunset. I have to say it’s the perfect time as you can watch the whole sunset. There are free parking in the plaza for 3 hrs. Street shoes are find as you will get on the bike from the dock. There is a box and two water bottles holders on the bike. The box is big enough to store your personal belongings. They don’t have tour guide but they will tell you where to go.

I was a little scared at first since this was my maiden voyage but I grew steadier and more comfortable on the bike as I rode. I would definitely do this activity again and I do recommend it!

It’s very cool if it’s your 1st time you will be nervous because the 1st time for everything is a little scary. Very easy to book online. They require to reserve a time, it’s for 1 hour. James Herbert: Fun experience with the Holiday ride. 1.5 instead of 1 hr and same price. Easy time to get through Naples to see all the lights. They’re not kidding about the 28 inches thing. Gf barely made it and also barely fit on the bike. Very stable and we went out on a windy night. The place is easy to find. It was at night so they weren’t in the booth. Just head down to the end of the parking lot and turn right. On the other side of Ballast Point. Check in was easy and we got to start as soon as we arrived.

Jerry O'Malley: over the past 3 years or so when I first started in windsurfing with no prior experience. If you take the time to listen to Jeff's stories and experience, it is similar to taking a college class in the subject. It can be a rather complex hobby, with complex gear choices. As such, it is well worth the money to obtain expert fitting advice from Jeff once he gets to know one's current level to help one progress to the next level. He also gives excellent lessons in windsurfing as I have witnessed beginners make rapid progress with him and the provided training equipment in the nearby bay.

Andrew Scott: I bought a tandem Starboard stand up paddle board, that also can be a solo windsurfing or tandem windsurfing board. Jeff and Carri were very helpful in finding the right tandem and pointers on how to set up.Also, took a windsurfing lesson from Jeff. Didn't have to bring anything, they had all the equipment you needed. Instruction was very helpful for a first timer. He made windsurfing an easy experience, not as hard as I imagined. Learned how to tack and jibe. I sailed in just a few hours
Elizabeth Louros: I bought a paddleboard here and had a great experience. Jeff really took the time to educate me about the different paddleboards he sells and helped me pick the right one for me. He spent over an hour showing me how to inflate the board, deflate the board, and fold it back in the bag. Excellent customer service.

Robert Roger: Jeff at Long Beach windsurf center is the last of his bread! Amazing customer service! I purchased a two person Kayak for my wife and I. When I arrived at the store for pick up the air kayak was in a box. Jeff, took the time to unbox, and assemble the kayak with step, by step instructions! He then disassembled, again with step by step instruction! I was shown how to fold the kayak, and fit kayak, paddle, seats, even the pump, in the carry bag. Originally I did not want the kayak. I figured it would never be used do to difficulty of use. Boy was I wrong! Jeff’s instructions made this kayak a breeze! We love it. Plenty of room! My wife, and I, our dog, and anything else we might need! Thank You Jeff!!!

We are very much looking forward to playing our favorite sport. We are so happy. We learned the course last week about how to ride it. For windsurfing, our children completed the windsurfing course under the guidance of Jeff. The whole process lasted 4 hours. My children said that the instructor was very patient and learned quickly. We bought a complete set of windsurfing equipment, so I I have also signed up for next week's course. I will have more and better windsurfing experiences with other consumers. We are very much looking forward to it. Thank you very much to the owner for his careful guidance and help. In the future, our whole family can experience this sport. The fun is simply great

My boyfriend and I stayed outside and I got to try the blades on using a bench he set up. I loved them and found his prices very competitive so I decided to buy the skates and some wrist guards. We ended up chatting for a long time about all kinds of things. We really enjoyed our experience and I was happy to support a small business. Jeff told us he’s had the shop for 40 years! I’m so glad we found this neighborhood gem. Later that day, I ripped around on my new blades and it was like I was 11 years old again. I need some practice, but I was surprisingly comfortable.

Carrie and Jeff are friendly, gave me lots of great advice, and helped me into an affordable combination of new and used windsurf gear. Jeff is also a terrific instructor - he got my 12 year old windsurfing on his own in 1 lesson. My whole family has done a lesson with Jeff now...and we have all fallen in love with the sport.
