Join us Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 3:30 pm as Catholics from our great city come together for a Rosary and Mass in honor of Our Lady of the Angels. In 1781, the city of Los Angeles was founded under the patronage of Our Lady of the Angels. She remains the Mother of the diverse family of God in Los Angeles.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to hear the Freiburg Cathedral Girls’ Choir, as they perform live here at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels! The Cathedral Girls’ Choir is celebrating its 50th Anniversary and is traveling from their home in Freiburg, Germany, to select locations in the United States. They will be performing an array of gorgeous sacred choral works that are sure to touch the heart and soul!
In observance of Labor Day on Monday, September 4, 2023, the Cathedral will celebrate Mass at 12:10pm. Parking for Mass attendees will be validated. There are no confessions and no 7am Mass on this day. The Cathedral will be open to visitors. Parking at the Cathedral will be available at the regular Holiday Flat Rate of $10. The Parish Offices, the Gift Shop and the Galero Grill will be closed on this day.
The Wednesday Organ recitals returns to the Cathedral for the 2023-2024 season! Cathedral Organist Sue Kim will launch the monthly organ series starting on September 6, 2023. Guest organists will perform the first Wednesday of the month. The concerts are free and open to the public.
Pope Francis today appointed four local priests as new auxiliary bishops for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. The appointments were announced Tuesday morning by the Holy See’s press bulletin and in a notice from Cardinal-designate Christophe Pierre, apostolic nuncio to the United States. The four bishops-elect were scheduled to be introduced at a press conference at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
Effective July 1, we will have an Associate Pastor! Archbishop Gomez has appointed Father Michael Mesa as the new Associate Pastor of the Cathedral. I am happy to have a brother priest who will be able to work closely with me to enhance the liturgical and spiritual life of the Cathedral. I am very grateful that the Archbishop has chosen him for this particular role. Many of you may know him as he was actually a seminarian from the Cathedral.

CaliLA 818GS: Walking into the St.James Episcopal Church was a beautiful heartwarming experience. I couldn't be more grateful to Ms.Margaret who's love for humanity is something beautiful and quite frankly, very rare. If you are looking to donate I recommend this place they actually care for human beings and see that the donations go to the community. There was something very authentic and beautiful about this place. When you walk into this place the love and generosity from the volunteers and Ms.Margaret is to be honest a bit overwhelming and I couldn't be more grateful. We were fed, clothes were given to our family and food to take home. I want to thank Ms.Magaret and the wonderful volunteers of the St.James Episcopal Church.

Alfred The Great: by humans, so we can't satisfy every person, but if you want to get a good experience in a god's communion, it is a good place for many people. It will be hard to maintain an atmosphere to welcome and serve weaker people; homeless and poor people, as exactly Jesus, and this church do.

Maverick F: Beautiful mass. Stayed late to take a few photos of the beauty inside this church. Would've liked to stay longer but will return in the future.
Chester Paul Sgroi: I have visited this parish a couple of times when in the area. I really like that the way thie friendly priest adds a degree of sacredness to the celebration of Holy Mass through song and the use of ringing bells during the elevation of the most Holy Body and Blood of Christ through the celebration of the Eucharist. After the Masses there is coffee and donuts plus their deacon actually gives good homilies. This parish has an active Knights of Columbus Council and a nice parish hall for which they are raising money to upgrade. My only nit with this parish is that the restrooms are downstairs with apparently no ADA access. The same holds true for the hall. Other than that, I really have had great experiences with this particular Catholic church and look forward to my next visit here.
