Hatchet Outdoor Supply Co: what do users think?

Ellis Hamburger: Incredible little shop with menswear / gorpbrands you can’t find anywhere else

Jamie Li: Good store

Trey Braheem: This place is run by some very kind people and has a great selection of gear.

james hansen: Best selection of japanese brands in LA

超神經: Good experience

Elliot Glickman: the best

Nicholas: Sick place - they stock the GO OUT magazine from Japan

Carlos F Vilchez: Aaron was very helpful and held a size that I needed for some hoka Hiking shoes! Thanks again. 👍🏻

Oscar Romero: Great place to pick up great outdoor essentials. I just hope that they start openning for buisness during the weekdays soon rather than just for limited hours on the weekends.

Oliver Ono: Whether you are an avid hiker/outdoorsman or you want to dress like one hatchet is a great place to pick up some clothes and supplies.Clothingwise, they focus on smaller higher-end labels that you normally only have access to online. A lot of it is performance based but with a bit more style than your standard outdoor clothing. This extends to their outdoor/ camping supplies which all seem to be focused on being both highly functional and aesthetically well designed.

REI: what do users think?

Andy Valencia: If you're the type of person to really value what they buy and rathers spent the money one than twice, this is your store. Pricy items but worth the money for the most part, some items can be defective.

Robert Wheeler: The go to store for anything outdoors. Hiking, biking, rock climbing, camping …….

Ellen4 Birds: Decent sales service and support. The long line moves pretty quickly. Stock can be iffy.

James Jordan: Very helpful staff. The products are high quality and they have a great membership program. I also like that they offer classes.

Gordon C. H. Drake: Some of the friendliest and most helpful staff I have encountered in my many years visiting REI Nationwide.

Michelle beltran: The staff were very helpful, especially Mike. Love the clothing, and bikes. It was even our first time going here. Overall amazing.

James Coe: Fresh food. Good service.

Jaime Aguilera: Like coming here and looking at the great camping gear. There shoe selection is good, nice hiking boots and the latest Hoka styles too. The only drawback, the prices. Was looking for a good bicycle, but the most affordable was still in the high $800's. Would ship here more often if prices were a bit lower but the REI Co-op does have it's benefits.

Kelly Lai: Wonderful store. Have everything I want or wish. Great discount today. 100% value for money

Jeff Schwartz: Nice place for camping needs. Good selection of products and knowledgeable staff

Becky B: Always good customer service, helpful, store is always clean and high quality merchandise with some really good sales.

Gary Tsay: Very helpful staff.

Delta Charlie: An associate

Jose Zurita: Great selection

Mad Rock Climbing: what do users think?

jeremy gloer: Great staff!

Kristen Lum: Amazing customer service, we drive over an hour to get shoes here every few months!

Nicholas Grady: Outstanding customer service. Will definitely be coming back in the future and recommending to my friends

Jj: This is not a gym to climb. It’s a shop!

Will Chu: This place is great

Douglas Chan-Wing: Really good spot to check out some climbing equipment! Check out their chalk bucket

DJ Wei: Only place I know of that sells bouldering guide books.

Puntarika Tunyavanich: Visiting Mad Rock Office, shop and mini bouldering here!Climbing is my passion

Sean Cardenas: Came in for the first time the other day, knowledgeable and friendly staff, great inventory, good pricing. I'll for sure be returning to purchase more items in the future.

This Guy: Absolutely spectacular. Knowledgeable staff, extremely good gear and a wide variety of shoes. The fact that you can get your shoes exactly fitted and then use their climbing wall is phenomenal. They also have bins with demo shoes at extremely discounted price.Every climber in Southern California needs to pay Mad Rock HQ a visit.

PEDRO CACHAY: they are legit. they need to restock on those triple pads tho.... a little longer and ima have the buy to evolv home pad instead :(

Sean M: , I decided to look for something different. The woman at the front desk with the septum piercing

Stephen Bleazard: GREAT FUN

D “Kankledpanda” T: Cute little retail area and a wall to demo shoes.

Edward No: Friendly, informative! Thank you Andrew. Hope to be back again someday

Sarah Wong: I love coming to Mad Rock to pick up new climbing shoes or to check out the demos they have available to purchase. It's a small store, but the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable! This is my 3rd pair of Mad Rock and will definitely be going back when it's time for another pair. I recommend coming here for the demos, especially if you're looking for shoes but don't wanna spend too much money on them and don't care about the new shoe experience. Climb on!

LA Boulders: what do users think?

D: Love love love this gym.I only wish they had a sauna like the other gyms and their weekend hours are waytoo limited. But other than that it’s great.

Trevor Snow: , but everything else about this gym is fantastic.

Jacob Frey: Hands down my favorite.gym in LA! it maybe smaller than Hollywood boulders and cliffs of Id but it's got a great layout and great atmosphere. Unfortunately some of the best staff has stopped working there which led to a lot of their awesome self organized events and dj nights to disappear.

Alejandro Foucault Monterrey: is friendly and welcoming. I felt right at home trying V0, V1 and V2 routes and fumbling the bag on the V3 and V4 ones. There is liquid chalk and other minor things that you can use in the front desk. You can also rent special bouldering shoes from them and they even have day passes for someone who may not want to commit to a monthly membership. Will definitely be back.

Rhee: There’s everything you need for training

Rockreation Los Angeles Sport Climbing Center: what do users think?

Alexander Hohmann: Great spot, nice staff.

Goldfish Went Nuts: We had a group party on the weekend. Kids really had a good time, the facilities are nice , clean and well equipped . Parents can sit and watch over the kids climb from the table . Staffs are very friendly and helpful. A great fun place for everyone!

Karim Youssef: Awesome place and friendly knowledgeable staff! Will definitely come back! Thank you!

Steven Bradshaw: Great friendly staff!

Gregory Maddela: Not the biggest gym in the LA area but the quality of the climbs makes up for that. Really challenging boulders that make you use your brain just as much as your muscles.

Cory Chen: Amazing staff, great dynamic climbs, and a nice 2nd floor gym

Ricky Rieckenberg: Interesting gym, routes were broken up into sets of three grades, v0-2, v3-5, etc. There is typically a wide difference between a v3 and a V5 at most gyms which makes that rank not the most helpful grouping. There was a fun woody traverse that goes through the top rope area, that I recommend. It was really warm in the gym and we went on a fairly cold day, so I wouldn't recommend wearing long sleeves or pants, and the air was fairly chalky and somewhat stagnant. The parking was fairly limited in the lot, there was a fair amount of street parking close by wasn't bad.

Tim McMahon: Great gym, great community, great staff.

Katrina Champion: Love the staff here! Ginger helped start the women's climbing group on Wednesday nights and I love it. Only knocking a star off because of the weekend hours- 12-4pm only.

Adam: Actually kinda difficult to boulder here. Or am I just weak? I can't really tell but I favor the latter

UCLA Bike Shop & Outdoor Equipment Rental Center: what do users think?

Zach: This place is 5 stars ever since Nate took over. He really takes care of everyone and runs the place very well. He’s not profit motivated so if you’re associated with the university I suggest you check this place out. The hours are also back to normal, this is such a good resource for students to useThey won’t fix your scooter though so don’t even try with that.

Zhao Di: The staff is very patient

Elijah Novoa: Actually an idea so that the many students who travel between buildings and happen to have breakdowns have a wonderful place to fix their bikes

Manny Macias: Sweet spot!! Bruins do things right!

Javier Valdes Aleman: Super helpful staff! They guided me through all the steps for aligning the derailleurs in my bike. They explained all the steps, showed me how to do it, let me borrow the tools I needed and supervised me. Absolutely recommend!

Ayesha I: for affordable prices. Can rent for 1-4 days, 5-8 days and a whole month.

Nicole: This place is a gem. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff, and the workshop is very clean and has so many tools. They took the time to teach me how to fix my bike and explained everything in detail when I asked questions - much appreciated!

Eric Rodriguez: . Have tons of good equipment at great prices. Staff will help you find exactly what you need, or will be able to suggest an alternative if the UCLA bike shop doesn't have what you are looking for.

Huy Dinh: if you're willing to get a little bit hands-on. They'll also fix your bike for you

Blake Colling: Got my bike looked at and I'm pretty sure it's never run this good!

Terri Raun: Fun

AL: Available parking, good customer service and quality goods for sale.

Terry Sutton: Good value on undergarments.

Leah Ferracone: They have it all!

Daniel Lee: Great selection of new and surplus items, at reasonable prices. Also the store is very tidily organized which is a rarity in surplus stores!

Sheila Coleman: Nice people. Good, reasonable sweats for me.

Expresshon: I fell in love with this store.

Gabriel Carson: Like most surplus stores, most of the stock here is new manufacture chinese junk. However, there's still a handful of actual milsurp, mostly USGI stuff, and the prices are pretty reasonable.

Michael William: Got a backpack here. Great product, great price, really good selection. Friendly customer service. The clothes are very cool.

Robsun Coaching: Good products, good prices, well organized, many good items.

Sender One Climbing & Sender City - Los Angeles: what do users think?

Lukas: will get you pumped. Nice route-setting and quite a lot of routes, most for toproping, but you can lead most of these as well. Quite extensive bouldering area as well.I'll be back here, even if I am just flying through LAX, as it is super close.

Alex grant: Love this gym and have been coming for years. Whether you’re looking for a quick workout sesh in the gym or full on climbing on one of the many walls, this gym has it all including a well appreciated sauna. The staff are also very nice and always helpful. I also very much enjoy all the yoga classes included in the membership.Of all the many positives this gym has to offer there’s only one complaint and that’s cleanliness. The bathrooms appear to rarely get deep cleans including the sauna. The gym area is also lacking in the clean department but overall the climbing areas are acceptable. With this one improvement I believe the overall quality of the gym would greatly be improved.

Josh “T1D Dadvocate” Montgomery: . Speaking of challenges, I’m bracing myself to feel those climbs tomorrow – hello, muscle soreness! But hey, that’s part of the fun, right? The highlight of our day, though, was meeting another family in the climbing community. Luna and her mom, Lauren, were not just fellow climbers; Luna, like Xander, also has Type 1. They were both there to celebrate their birthdays! We always love seeing a fellow T1D in the wild. First time we’ve met one with the same birthday as Xandy though. It’s moments like these that make places like Sender One more than just a climbing gym – it’s a spot where connections are made.If you’re thinking of trying out rock climbing, or if you’re a seasoned climber looking for a great community, this is the place to be. Who knows, you might just bump into some amazing people or find a new passion. We’ll definitely be back – with each visit, Xander and I are determined to climb a little bit higher!

Ruoli Jiang: Purchased the 5 times pass for my kid, he loved it. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend this place!

Shanelle S: but if it’s full, there’s plenty of street parking as well. There’s a good mix of beginner as well as harder routes, but I felt that even the V0s and V1s were a bit spicy. You need to sign a waiver online beforehand. There are Groupons available for climbing classes which include a gym pass.

Edwin Tang: Nice climbing gym but more for top rope

Hossein Javid: Great place. Wether you are looking for fund day or a place for kids Birthday party this is a great place. Most kids have a lot of fun and enjoy their time. The staff are very friendly and attentive. They are very reasonably priced and have great packages. The only down side is the 2 time slide rule weather they are busy or not which does not make sense. When they are not busy, the staff is standing there doing nothing, it make sense to allow the kids to use the slide more 2 times. Just my opinion.I have climbed my self a few times and it is a lot of fun and is a workout. In my opinion this is the breakdown. Although because of the sliding rule they really deserve a 4 but I am giving them a 5 anyways.5 For the venue5 for Staff2 for the Slide rule

Dennis Liew: was moved to a much less convenient location where one cannot quickly glance at the time.

Andrew Simon: Fun place to climb. Staff is great and they allow you to have a good time!

Shane C.: Really cool Rock climbing place with a gym and kids area... Place is massive!

Shuang Zhu: The Sender City is quite a joyful place for beginner kids. The stuff is also nice and helpful.

Teo Strong: Place is very clean and workers are very nice. got belay certified quickly, made some friends who I practiced both top rope and unclipping during the lead. I also tried sped wall for the first time. All in all, one of my greatest climbing experiences.

Koko Paulli: Best indoor climbing spot in SoCal! Top notch world class! Great spot to spend the entire day.

Aleah Maria: Stopped in on a road trip + was so grateful to have- great setting, got us in for a lead test, all the staff seemed super chill and reasonable. Showers were super nice as well!!

Jim Benson: Friendly staff, clean, great setting. Not a fan of the grigri only top roping and hard to bring a lead rope while traveling but had a good time bringing family on vacation.

Eric Jin Cheng: Huge climbing facility, wide selection of sport climbing routes and bouldering problems. Well lit and clean, the staff are very professional and friendly. Overall the grades are harder than the local gyms.

Patagonia: what do users think?

Aran Helga: Been here bunch of times, its expensive for me but I fancy the clothes especially comfort I feel when wearing them. Also they tend to treat the minority fairly which is awesome IMO.

Angie Di Mauro: Some beautiful clothing here at end of year sale, but prices were not sufficiently fair enough for my wallet :(

Luis Garcia (Trusted Plumbing Co. Inc.): Love this place best brand ever, you keep for ever well made

James Wan: One of the top premium outdoor clothing and gear stores offers a wonderful brick-and-mortar experience to try and sample gear. This is a great place to visit if you're a fan.One thing to keep an eye out for is their sales. There are some really good bargains if luck is on your side with sizing and availability.

crAnbeRRy is rOlliNg dW the hiLL: Small store, but have updated merchandise. Friendly services.

Michael Cohen: Called the store to see if they had some stuff in. Talked with Catherine about my use cases, and she gave me some suggestions. Drove almost an hour to meet her, have her show me the options, try on and so forth. The store in general was very accommodating and Catherine did a wonderful job of helping me pick out what I’ll need.

The Stronghold Climbing Gym: what do users think?

Vy Tran: Pretty good gym for getting stronger

M Kay: Can’t say enough about the vibe, staff, and ethos of this gym. Inclusive, friendly, helpful…all of it. And manager James could not be more lovely and friendly. I hadn’t planned on being a climber, but just wanted to be a part of this place. And I’m super enjoying it!Also: their pricing is super fair.

Kristie Drawe: What a beautiful gym with awesome staff, quality routes and nice locker room. I've been to many climbing gyms and this one is pretty memorable to me. Keep up the good work!

Louis Andrew: Great workout! You never know unless you try... just go do it it's fun.

Maxy Bebber: Always a pleasant staff, fun puzzles to scale, informative boards, buddy belay board, community board - this place just had a lot of welcoming things and I love going.Of course, so does everyone else, so if you're going after work or school, expect to be courteous and share the walls! Much more peaceful if you can make it in the mornings!

Rio Enriquez (Kaimaka): Cool place to hang out. Lots of very challenging climbs, with auto belays, rope or plain old bouldering.Facility is very clean and the crew are very helpful and friendly. There is a weight room and the restrooms are very clean. They a small snack area where they sell some good cookies. They do offer daypasses and it is perfect for people that want to try climbing.

Jeremy Blakeslee: and a few routes outside up the exterior of the smoke stack would be amazing.

Ying Liang: Good bouldering location with plenty of interesting problems to solve. Not much in the way of top rope or belay. A day pass is pretty pricey, the monthly membership is much more worth it if you're going frequently. Gets very crowded during peak hours. The Google maps location is bit confusing, parking it on the street but you have to walk through a entry area to get to the gym. Just follow the people with the chalk bags!

Geoffrey: I work at Touchstone. Today I took a field trip to our sister company, mainly to get milage on thin cracks. Really like the finger crack set, and 3 flaring crack that mimic granite / sandstone stuff on the west coast. Bathrooms were nice. Top out section is pretty cool, parking is interesting but not atypical of LA. General nice utilization of space. Staff is pretty good. Community seemed to be East Siders. Nice to see the self defense and intro to trad anchor classes. Would be cool if we had that. The adjustable crack should be somewhere between BD 0.2-0.5, or 3-5, as the permacracks are already moderate sized. More finger crack sets!

Jo Ca: Awesome gym! Awesome staff. Super friendly, helpful and informative. The place is so clean and chill. A lot of room to do your thing. This place is super kid friendly. Awesome stuff. Nice chill gym up top with a yoga area. They also have a snack area. This place was just awesome. Can't wait to go again.

Courtney Ferguson: The friendliest staff ever! It was my first time here so I took my lead climbing test then sent some very interesting overhanging stuff. The location is in a magical industrial area that reminds you of Gotham city. The gym has a great assortment of bouldering and rope climbing, moon boards, a sauna and it's all very clean.

Scott Ledell: Awesome climbing gym. Super friendly and helpful staff. So glad we found this place!
