The staff was incredibly accommodating, organized, and friendly, making me feel comfortable and at ease throughout my time with them.I had the pleasure of working with three of their exceptional instructors, Keline, Michelle, and Don. Their expertise and professionalism contributed greatly to my safety and enjoyment throughout the dive. Blue Holic was the closest scuba shop to my home and was the first place I went, to learn about classes and how I could become certified. This was one of the best choices I made, the instructors and employees made me feel so welcome and comfortable, they were very flexible with my needs, and they had very thorough answers to all of my questions. I had some struggles and fear learning how to scuba and they guided me patiently throughout the entire experience. I am so grateful to my instructors, Keline, Gabi, Eryn, Seth, and Taylor for giving me tips and encouraging me the whole time! Sarah Harkey: helped calm and reassure me, which helped me settle and try again.When we graduated to the first ocean dive, I was really nervous so Keline held my hand and kept eye contact to remind me to breath and that I was ok all the way down to the bottom. Unfortunately, my nerves had acted up too much and so I ultimately decided to return to the boat. There was no shaming or pushing, Keline checked in with me later and reassured me that I made a healthy choice for myself, which I appreciate. She helped me to see the achievements I've had instead of focusing on the "failures", and has helped me come up with a plan of baby steps to get me diving with more confidence. I'm looking forward to my next ocean dive with them, and am so appreciative of all of the healthy, emotionally aware support that they've given me. It's been therapeutic!

B Wright: My wife and I were signed up to take the confined water course. Two weeks before the course, my wife experienced a medical issue with her ear that ended her SCUBA career before it started. The folks at ECO were very understanding and refunded 80% of our money. I don't recall the exact terms of the payment, but I think that's more than they were obligated to refund, and I really appreciated it.
Anne Georgulas: My 2 kids just certified at Eco Dive center. The staff in store helped us fit gear. They even lent us a mask that fit better after the first weekend. Both our instructors were awesome, kind, knowledgeable and caring people . I couldn’t have asked for a better experience for my 11 year old and their adult sister.

Tom Muller: I was packing for a trip to Mexico and discovered my snorkeling stuff had been stolen out of my garage. Ran over to Hollywood Divers, who could not have been more helpful. Offered me multiple good choices on all the things I needed, gave good advice, extremely friendly, straightforward and efficient. I was out of there in a half hour fully equipped, at a price I found surprisingly reasonable. Strongly recommend.

Hal, Joe and the team at Hollywood Divers have been nothing but helpful to our son throughout the whole process. They are all so kind, patient, encouraging, knowledgeable and informative. Something I find very special about a business is when you can tell that the employees are happy and sincerely interested in the needs of their customers and not just making a sale. Matthew Wallace: What an absolute pleasure to spend a little over an hour at Hollywood Divers this morning. Everyone on staff was super helpful and willing to share information and major props to Hal for helping me find the right wet suit, mask, fins, snorkel, and dive computer! I couldn't ask for better service. While it's possible to buy equipment online at a slight discount, I visited their store because I wanted more than just the gear, I wanted professional, experienced input before purchasing. Being able to speak with people who are active and avid divers, who are able to share their experience and recommendations, is well worth paying a little more money. Btw, when you walk in, you're greeted, treated with respect, and you feel like family. I'm now looking forward to going on some of their dive tours around Catalina Island. Campo Colibri: Picked up a new semi dry suit today at a great price. Owner Hal is a wiz, and his staff - Jack, Kam, and Sal- bent over backwards grabbing me everything I asked for that I wanted to look at. I went to REI and the surf/ skate/ scuba shop in Northridge but no one could get me the right wetsuit. Either out of stock or the wetsuit was too thick and they couldn't order it for me in my size‼️ I'm extremely happy with my purchase‼️

Carolyn Patterson: Very helpful, very encouraging, very experienced! Every person in this shop is very welcoming and able to answer any question I have. They are especially knowledgeable about diving in the Channel Islands and Catalina.
Percival Gonzaga: and software - he loves that stuff. He also used to fly planes, ride bikes - pretty much everything - he's done it.Javier, the owner, is such a cool guy too. Tons of fun experience to share and encourages you to join them, too. He likes flight simulator games. hahaWe started off with 2 days of pool diving. We got familiar with our gear, practice basic skills, we even got to play around with the extra air we have left to get comfortable.Same thing was with day 2 - we picked up where we left off and we just had the rest of the time to continue practicing the skills that we could improve on.Day 3 - it was at Veterans Park, Redondo Beach. It was raining too, and it added to the already fun trip. I felt very comfortable with what ive learned in the pool and i was actually pretty excited for our first open water dive. Got to see an octopus. Remember, to walk on your feet until you cant walk anymore and then put your fins on. Dont be afraid of the open water and stay close with your buddy.Day 4 - CATALINA! When you get to Catalina, USE THE TRANSPORT SERVICE - its SUPER WORTH IT. They will pick up and load one bag and transport it to and from the dive site and they will even store it for you until you are ready to leave - it will save your back and it will save your energy. At the dive site, you dont even have to go far to see the beautiful stuff - its right there when you hit the water! Mark even saw a technical diver with the advance gear and had him show us how it works and how its different. I think that person was a technical level diver and he also explained everything very well. WE GOT TO SEE THE BLACK SEA BASS!!! OMG.I cant wait to make new friends and go on more dives. This opens a whole new world of opportunity and adventure for me, and its only going to get better and more fun from here.
Ben Balistreri: Brand spanking new to diving and Just finished getting my Open Water Certification through Divers West! This team is outstanding!!! I can’t just single out 1 instructor. Everyone worked so well as a team to help me not only train safely, but have fun while I did it! Nate, Kait, Aileen, Conrad, Chet, and Javier all took time at some point to give great advice and patiently help an older dog like me learn some new tricks. I loved the experience so much I went back to buy my actual gear from Javier. Ryan Roth: Dropped in for a Discover Scuba class and had an amazing time. Was nervous to try scuba at first but Scott and Megan were legends and made us all feel super comfortable before moving forward. We learned the basics in their heated pool with included rental gear and had us practice the fundamentals before trying out the deep end. David Cohn: My experience aboard Avalon IV at the Jardines de la Reina, Cuba was excellent - above expectations. I was surprised at the roominess of the accommodation and common areas, more like a floating resort.In fact, the food was better than I've had in upscale resorts. It included what I would call "conventional" American items as well as seafood expertly prepared. We had lobstermany nights, tender and tasty.Prebooking was an efficient and thorough process. The instructions included a walkthrough of the various forms required for travel to Cuba that made it as easy as travel toany other foreign country. It helped that the Cuban officials were friendly, efficient, and welcoming of Americans.As for diving, it's for pelagics. I didn't see anything on a macro scale, although some fellow divers did report sightings. Macro may have been better if I had had a personal guide; butthat was not the purpose of this trip. By pelagics, I mean lots of grey reef sharks that cruised around us like pets. I believe they were looking for lion fish handouts as the guidesspeared them as often as possible and offered them to the sharks. The hit of the show were the giant groupers, larger than myself, that we saw on many of the dives. And again, I thinkthey appeared because the guides fed them lobster that were abundant.The reefs were not that colorful, and the walls were usually grey, holding large fans and sponges, Many of the sandy bottoms were not that deep and the sunlight lit them well.All in all, the Cuba trip was great, well beyond expectations; and as a result, I personally feel rejuvenated. A big THANK YOU to the knowledgable and efficient staff at Bluewater.

They owed us a portion of our money back and said they would let us know right away how it would be refunded and then disappeared. Communication has been sparce with them just giving us the run around. It has been months and we still have no clue how or if they are planning on issue us the refund. Stay away!

Lori O'Donovan: Private lessons with Ryan are the way to go! I came to Beach Cities Scuba after meeting their staff at The Scuba Show. All of them were so friendly, and knowledgeable. I had previously started taking scuba classes at a different dive shop that is no longer in business due to shady practices, needles to say I had a horrible experience at that other dive shop. I had a lot of anxiety when I came to Beach Cities. I signed up for the group class, but that really wasn't for me. My first day in the pool with the group class didn't go well for me and I ended up sitting in the store crying my eyes out. The office staff was so patient and kind with me. I can't remember the girls name, but she was so sweet. She immediately texted Ryan and told him about me, while at the same time telling me about him. She was encouraging, and told me not to give up. She said Ryan is the guy to teach me and get me certified. I really wanted to do this, so I contacted Ryan. Please, pay the extra money for private lessons. It's so worth it. From my first communications with Ryan on email, I could tell he was different than all the others. He asked me what my fears were, what the problems I had were, which no one seemed to care about before. He assured me that if I wanted to scuba, he would get me there. And he did! I am now certified and I am excited again about scuba diving! He was so patient, everything was done at MY pace. He didn't rush me, but he also pushed me where I needed to be pushed. He was not going to let me fail. Scuba diving involves life support. Why would you NOT pay for top instruction? I will be contacting Ryan again for further classes. We did all boat dives as I am afraid of the beach dives due to my past bad experience. I highly recommend for anyone considering taking classes, to please sign up for private lessons with Ryan. Nothing beats individual attention. Nothing! Do it! I can't say enough good things about him or this shop, as well as the amazing crew on the Riviera dive boat they use! Thank you, thank you, Beach Cities Scuba and thank you Ryan! I hope you all realize what an asset he is!
April Hsiung: Got a groupon to do padi scuba iving lessons here...so far so good. Staff is friendly. Seems to be easy to schedule pool and ocean dive.The only thing is that besides buying the groupon for the padi lesson, u still gotta pay e-learninig course fee of $206 and then $50 for a chart table and physical log book....Those two fee are mandatory, as well as the min. Items u have to purchase on or before the orientation class.Min purchase items are: 3mm gloves, 7mm booties, mask, snorkel, fins.Oh, and they asked us to fill out all the forms and emailed it to them before the orientation class, however, when we got there, the staff at the local cypress location said they didnt have the paper work checked off, so we all had to fill out all the paper work again there...that wasted like 20 minutes...be aware..Anyways, Looking forward to complete my scuba there.

B King: How can you not like the pier!?It is what it is, and it isn’t what it isn’t.People watching is some of the best. Melting pot of folks from all over the world experiencing the end of Route 66. On a Sunday morning you can catch folks in wedding attire, fishermen with lines in the water, pelican misjudging a landing, dolphins, dancers, artist, vendors….at the right time it can be a great time. Take a moment to soak up the environment play a game of air hockey and take in the view from the Ferris wheel!
