We were desperate to find a groomer who could take her on a Saturday.Luckily, we found these folks. We were able to get her in 30 minutes after calling.We came to find a glamorous doggy boutique. The space is open, luxurious, and magical.Our dog was very comfortable with the staff despite having some mild attachment issues.It is definitely an upscale Atmosphere, with fancy leather harnesses in museum cases, exotic dog chews made from wild game and a salon style menu for pampering the dog.And yet their basic grooming and bathing prices are very reasonable. And their staff was very welcoming, despite us being in our pajamas.We’ll be bringing our dog back for sure. Highly recommended.

Rex: I know my dogs are always safe here and I know they're always treated well and most of the time he comes out looking great!. 80% of the time he looks great. 20% I think he may have taken on a customer or two to money and becomes overwhelmed and isn't able to put the finishing touches on my dog's haircut. That being said, nobody's perfect and I can live with that once in a while. As long as I know my dog is taken care of and treated well when he's in their care.

They share images and video of the pups throughout the day, so I always know what he’s up to! Highly professional and I always know he’s safe and happy with them! We use the San Diego club as well and couldn’t be happier.

Tina Nichols Coury: All four of my Dobermans have attended Hollywood Dog. It’s amazing and if you do it when they are puppies it’s in their dna. Scarlett is off leash hand signal trained. It’s great for boarding too.

I've never seen kitties have more fun in a "kennel" if you can call it that, it's a massive and lush kitty carnival, and LESS than HALF--almost ONE THIRD the cost!!!--of every other kennel around us, none of which is a fraction the size or luxury of Hollywood Dog Training School. Over seven years we have had nothing but five star experiences with HWDTS and would never board our cats anywhere else.

Best boarding kennel I've ever seen. 20 minutes from Universal Studios. Love them! Highly recommend.

The idea of my dog being able to get a haircut without the aid of sedation was something that I never dreamed possible, but with his age advancing, and his liver being at risk from continued use, it was out of the question, so I let Manny do his magic. I was so impressed, not only in the adorable short cut he had, but in the care shown to George, our little morky. Sufficed to say, I'll be back again.

Diane Waterhouse: We were going to return our German Shepherd dog to the German Shepherd Rescue because she was so extremely aggressive with other dogs. Ironically we live across the street from a dog park and we could not even keep her in the front yard. She made our life difficult. . We were worried about liability and could not walk her in public. After wasting money a lot of money and being exhausted by her, we learned of the Hollywood Dog Training School. How I wish we had known about it when we got the dog at 12 weeks. She is now 2.Our experience has been truly incredible. We cannot believe how Rick and Joyce have transformed our dog. She is obedient, relaxed, getting along and accepting other dogs. It is truly a miracle! Our dog was a challenge for them but they know what to do. The facility is immaculate, the dogs are very comfortable. This training has saved her from being sent back. I will take all my future dogs to them and will board them there as well. Even though we live in Santa Barbara it is worth it. They are geniuses! So impressive I am speechless. It is truly remarkable.

Jer: If you're contemplating a place to take your dog to be trained, this is it. Here is my Yelp review :I took Kumo, an unaltered german shepherd puppy to HDTS back in March for their on-leash and off-leash program. The results are simply stunning. He went in a bit of a spaz, listening only when he wanted to, and pulling while walking, even with a pinch collar. Once Rick and Joyce started working with him, you could see changes happening week by week.At about 4 weeks, I went to be trained on how to handle him on a leash, and then i left him there for another 4 weeks for him to be trained off leash. When I came back for my training again, it was amazing how much he had mellowed out and respected the leash and understood how to be worked/walked/etc. We did a few lessons on-site, and then they took both Kumo and myself to a big open dog park, as well as the Empire center that has tons of people just so I could get a feel of working with him in a public environment. It gives me a LOT more confidence walking around with him in public, and in general, just letting him be a dog. He is still a puppy, so he gets pretty excitable - but the great thing about the training here is that they take their time and will continue to work with you even AFTER you're done with their program. I'm sure I'll be back from time to time just to get a refresher/touch-up, but I am amazed at how good of a job they did. It was a long time to be without a pup, but over the course of his lifetime, I'm absolutely certain that this was the proper way to train him.On top of the training, they were very accommodating to various requests and scheduling. Morgen L Crosby: Luna, our 3 yo catahoula leopard mix rescued from a DTLA shelter, just graduated basic training! It was honestly the best money we've spent in a long time! She had several bad habits including excessive 'mouthing', jumping, wall chewing, severe dog aggression, Houdini-esk collar escaping, and pulling on the leash like a champ on a sled team!I'm glad to say that after five weeks away from home, very hard on 'dad', she is still our lovable Luna who just wants to cuddle. BUT! Now we can take her out for a walk in our neighborhood, lots of dogs, and keep HER from dragging US around. We are no longer afraid that she will escape when we open the door. No more hyper jumping on everyone, and growling every time the neighbors open their door. I can also now relax more at home because we are teaching her that it's not ok to lick me, no more itchy hives for me! Does she still think bad thoughts? Yes, she's still Luna, but now she knows there are rules, and we know how to enforce those rules in a manner that makes her happy to follow them.HDTS worked with the whole family to make sure we all understood how keep Luna safe, happy, and healthy. We plan on taking advantage of the free refresher lessons, and hopefully when 'dad' can stand to give her up for a few more weeks she will do the advanced training. Everyone at HDTS was very nice, and it is clear that they want the very best for all of the dogs they care for.Not only do we plan on going back for more training, we also plan on exclusively using their grooming, and boarding services for Luna. I know she will be excited to go back, and see her new best friend Diana who took such amazing care of her, and taught her to be the very best dog she could be.If you're looking for a boarding or training facility go talk to Rick, and after just a few minutes you will know that this is the best place for your dog, just like I did.

Scott Pactor: We take our dog here to board because he is a little too big to fly. They have a video feed that allows you to watch your dog during normal business hours. There are both indoor and outdoor areas. Our dog has spent up to two weeks there at a time without ill effects and he seems happy to check in. They have requirements for overnight stays, you need a valid dog license and up to date medical stuff to book a spot. They also have day care which we've never tried.

This particular Petco keeps the dog and cat food in the SAME aisle, right across from each other.Maybe it’s just me but I’ve never been to a Petco that keeps the dog or cat food remotely next to each other. I realized after a month I was feeding my cats dog food, as I hadn’t fully inspected the bag when I went to refill their feeders.At a glance, both the dog and cat dry food bags have a furry animal on them, so I wasn’t fully paying attention when I picked up the bag with the wolf on it, rather than the snow leopard or whatever type of feline is on the cat food packaging.I’m sure this is mostly user error a.k.a. my fault, but make sure to double check the Blue Wilderness bag before buying.

Angel Matute: I took my dog here a few times over the last year and we loved them. They have good prices and the grooming was on point all the time. You should know that they have a strict appointment policy and if you don't show up for an appointment, they drop you as a client. This happened to me and unfortunately I can't make new appointments. A little bit radical but those are theirs rules anyway.

Jordan V: My dog Atlas, who is a very sensitive little guy with a traumatic past, has such a great time at Den. Before his meet and greet he was shaking in the car, now he knows exactly where we are when we pull up and his tail is wagging the whole way. I've had bad experiences with other daycare centers, but it's so clear that everyone who works at Den actually loves the dogs and wants what's best for them. So glad to have found Den and can't recommend them enough!

Michael Bizar: We've taken our goldendoodle here every other week or so for grooming for a couple of years now. We tried a few others in the area until our friends told us about Linda here at DEN. She is so nice and our dog loves both the haircuts and the bath and brush sessions. I love that our dog doesn't come home smelling like cleaning chemicals like he did from the other local groomers we tried. All the people who work there are very nice and obviously love all the dogs there. Booking appointments is easy through the website. Tip: Book appointments about a week ahead of time to get the times you want.
Douglas Sills: These folks are just extremely special amazing fantastic people and caregivers. Ownership and staff are all warm and compassionate yet firm and knowledgeable about the best way to handle dogs, in our experience. Early on, we signed up our Cleo for their puppy socialization and that was very impactful for her in the best way. These days she goes with them every morning for a hike and twice a week she stays with them all day for playtime. She has even stayed overnight with them for as long as a month - special diet and all. I can’t say enough good things about the people here . This is even better than leaving your dog with family or best friends.

Erin Johnson: DEN Urban Dog Retreat has been a lifesaver for me and my fur baby Roo. I work long hours so I searched endlessly for a daycare that would be able to accommodate my schedule, care for my pup as if he was their own, and be a one stop shop for all my pet needs. DEN is all that and more. Roo has been going to DEN since he was 5 months old. He goes to daycare 3-4 times a week, gets shuttled home every day, does supplementary training, goes on pack hikes, and gets groomed at DEN. The staff is amazing and treat Roo and I like family. They always give updates of Roo's activities and habits while at daycare. And they always go the extra mile to help me out when i need extra support due to work. I can't say enough how grateful I am that Lindsay and Victorious opened DEN and continue to run it at the highest level. Their care and dedication to every dog is superior. Tamika is an amazing manager who handles the day to day functions with such love and efficiency. Antoinette is the best caretaker and always has a great story about Roo or cutest pictures to share of him. And Linda works tirelessly to turn a shaggy Roo into a handsome prince every 6 weeks. She is the best groomer in LA! We love the DEN!

Kim Johnson: I usually go to Patrick for a wash and brush out for my long-haired pomeranian. He is quick and does a good job and my dog seems to love him. I like that they don't keep your pet waiting in a kennel for a long time to be seen and actually start working on your pet pretty close to the exact appointment time. I used to go to Healthy Spot until I came across a class action lawsuit that they have injured many dogs and even KILLED one. I feel a lot better about going to moon shine grooming instead! It's also more reasonably priced and they dont keep your poor dog waiting. But if you're still worried about using a groomer, they also offer really affordable self-wash stations that have everything you need to do it yourself. The receptionist at Moon Shine is also super nice.

We went there to use the self dog wash station. It was clean, had multiple different types of dog brushes, had shampoo and the conditioner was awesome for my dog's dry coat. They also had eye cleaner and doggy perfume spritz. The water pressure was really good. The place actually didn't smell like dog, it was clean. The price was $15 but would have paid more. This is definitely our place now for our Joey. The prices on their dog treats were also really good. So glad we found this place.
Alex Barcena: Great experience using the self dog wash. Located inside the pet store. I believe they may have a front entrance. Although I came in thru the back parking lot. You go in and make a left to the back. Extremely convenient. Staff was helpful. Definetly recommend if you want to give your dog a good wash.

Emily Howard: Got me in same day for a bath for my dog. He's a rescue and is a little scared of new people and places. He did great and came out all smiles and wags! His fur was so soft and she must have really brushed him because he didn't seem to shed as much for awhile! Will visit again!

Louise: The owner of this place was so generous with her time on the phone when I called to enquire about help with disciplining my adopted dog. Even though she couldn't offer the menu of services during Covid that would customize to my needs, she was as helpful with me on the phone as if I were a full time client needing support. I had been taking my dog to the dog park regularly to tire her out because she could run with other dogs and get exhausted without me having to exert energy to keep up with her. The advice was brilliant: "do you want to condition your dog to be an athlete and require you to meet her athletic running need every day? At a park she has no discipline or structure, she can run all over the place, but if you walk her daily, you bond and you can enforce her listening to you." I'm paraphrasing, but for me that was great advice and I was compelled to write this review for her generosity with her time.

Julia Cunningham: This is a long overdue review because we are huge fans of Dogue! Our dog Nixon is a shy, nervous but very sweet rescue that does not love being out of his comfort zone. We are so impressed with how thoughtful and kind the entire team is with him. The last time I called to make an appointment I heard the owner yell from the background “we love Nixon!” which just shows you how they know the dogs and love them. Highly recommend!!

Danielle Youker: Best grooming experience I have ever had! I called Dogue Spa in a panic because my two large Cane Corsos had rolled in what smelled like a dead animal. When they came into my house, the smell was so pungent that I thought it would be permanent. It was on their fur, the smell was in their mouths, it was HORRIBLE! So I called and asked if there's anyway they could get me in as a new client. Without hesitation, they gave me their soonest appointment the same day. They were so kind and understanding and I am so appreciative. My puppy is huge and they handled him like the gentle giant he is and he was so tidy when I picked him up and super happy. He loved the staff and he smelled AMAZING. I can't believe they were able to get the smell off of him and especially in his mouth. Also, they did a phenomenal job on his nails. He hates it and they're usually long but he came back trimmed and happy. I will be using Dogue Spa from now on. GREAT place to take your pups!
