General Assembly Downtown Los Angeles: what do users think?

Beryl Harris: I enrolled in the Data Analytics course for GA during their Aug-Oct session. I was able to collaborate with students from all different industries. I took this course because I am a data analyst in banking and really wanted to learn new technical skills that I could apply right away. I had never used SQL or Tableau before but I was able to learn those within a matter of weeks! I think the best part about GA is the workshops and events that they hold. I have been able to connect with lots of people. GA makes learning very attainable for anyone!

Simone Wojtaszek: GA gave me the resources I needed to completely change my career. The intensive program is in-person and full-time, forcing me to dedicate myself to learning new skills. GA's downtown LA campus is in a great location, close to the Arts District. GA's career placement program has been very supportive and responsive. And the GA alumni network has been a source of mentorship for me. Overall, I'm glad I did the program. Like anything, you get out of it what you put in.

Elizabeth Messick: General Assembly is amazing! I took the WDI course in the Fall of 2018 and I found a job as a Front End Web Developer in January of 2019. I started out knowing nothing about web development and now I can confidently build my own websites and web apps. The outcomes department was very helpful in my journey to finding my dream job. Although the course was hard, it definitely paid off in the end! I recommend General Assembly to anyone who wants to switch their careers and is willing to put in the work!

Sharif Matar: Incredible place to learn and grow. The supportive team at General Assembly has created a ‘learn by doing’ creative space that is helping build out LA’s larger tech community. The projects and courses are practical and competitive - many new startups and established companies have GA grads working and leading. Wonderful community for DTLA!

Jackie Saplicki: Awesome place to work and take classes! Great instructors with a dedicated staff pushing you to succeed.

David Kim: I found a very welcoming community of people here. I took the User Experience immersive course in 2017 and I've made some great friends and was able to find a mentor or two along the way.Really solid community!

Pato Ordoñana: I took the Digital Mkt accelerated 1 week course and in general terms I can say it was a great experience. It's definitely a lot of information to digest in 1 week and I think that the final presentation complicates even more the equation because by day 3 everybody is more focused on doing that, than on processing all the different topics. However, I think most of the relevant topics are covered, the teacher shows a lot of knowledge about digital marketing and the course is well structured. Additionally, the school is really nice and well located, plus is a great place to get to know cool people. Overall it's a great option but I would try to do the part-time instead.

Stanley Moy: Cool place, good education, learn how to run a business. Great courses with a variety of interests. Good view of DTLA too!

Diana Wei: Next at Brunswig Square building. It is next to opodz. 4th floor. Restroom, coffee, tea is included.Rooms are nice where the wall and our tables are dry erase. We write on it.

Michael Washburn: General Assembly offers much for entrepreneurs, aspiring entrepreneurs, career changers, new skills seekers, and small business owners who are looking to do more, know more, and be more in the tech world. I'm a full-time Web Development student and I'm very happy with the challenging curriculum GA has put together.

Los Angeles Institute of Architecture & Design: what do users think?

Edy Cristian: There is so much to say, it’s such an awesome and super fun schoolThe instructors are great, helpful and involved, giving challenging, engaging and creative projects! Totally recommend it!

Mercedes Victoria: Prior to attending LAIAD, I wanted to apply to architecture school for my masters but did know where or how to start building a portfolio. Although I was always creative, I was told I needed a 'conceptual' portfolio. I didn't understand what was meant by this until I attended LAIAD. The graduate prep program is intensive, immersive, and excellent. Bill and Carl are two of the most encouraging and insightful teachers I have ever had and still think fondly of their studios. I greatly enjoyed all of the design project assignments as they were structured but also allowed you to divulge into your own interests. The studio classes were small and very hands on and helped me produce some impressive designs and models. After applying to graduate school with the portfolio I produced at LAIAD, I received offers from 7/9 schools I applied to and was offered substantial scholarships from all but one. I am happy to say that I will be attending my first choice and dream institution for my Masters in Architecture, and I feel well prepared for it thanks to my time at LAIAD, despite not having an undergrad in a design related field. I would highly recommend their program to anyone interested in getting into design and architecture.

Edgar Tostado: I would highly recommend anyone who has the intentions of getting familiar or plan to pursue an education in architecture and design. I recently finished the Graduate School Preparation Program and I can say that I received the best attention and guidance from the LAIAD staff to prepare and help me produce great work for my portfolio. The entire staff at LAIAD are all working professional with tons of experience who challenge their students to become problem solvers and self thinkers but at the same time mentor them as they grow in the design process. The great thing about attending LAIAD is that your ideas will never just remain as an idea. You will be taught how to transform ideas and information into actual form and create models that will show complexity and meaning. I previously taken courses in the past at the local community college and it does not come close to the level of quality and dynamic curriculum that LAIAD provides.

Cary Chu: If you are at all interested in architecture, whether to pursue it as a career or just as a dillante, you need to check this school out. Be prepared to put in some work and Carl, Bill and Sean will get you into an Ivy league school... if that's what fancies you.Their portfolio preparation class is absolutely top-notch. Everyone from my class that lasted to the end of the year managed to churn out incredible works that made them extremely competitive to get in the best architecture programs in the States with substantial scholarship. I didn't even think about scholarships when I decided to enroll at LAIAD, but Bill told me to keep gluing that basswood, I did, and the scholarship offers came. Now I am on the verge of being cocky.Enough said. You can't go wrong here.

Clara Dykstra: during the first and second semester studio classes. In the last semester I compiled these projects into a portfolio and learned the essentials of graphic design while figuring out the most effective way to communicate my processes and concepts. Previous to these classes I had never taken a course in architectural or graphic design.Because I have an undergraduate degree in a different field, this course was invaluable for me to see what an architectural education is all about and whether it was relevant to my goals.Overall, I am extremely glad that I stumbled onto their website a year and a half ago and that I took a chance to try their program.

Annie Hetrick-Dahm: LAIAD is a program that worked for me because it really is for beginners. They teach the basic principles of program-based design in a way that challenges and motivates. The faculty create a familiarity with each student and their projects, and they helped me come out of my shell as a designer.

Logan Dumont: Before entering the Los Angeles Institute of Architecture and Design, all I knew of architecture and design was that it fascinated me. I had previously graduated from a 4 year university with no design background, but through the Graduate Preparation Program at LAIAD, I have since learned numerous design techniques and skills along with real world applications, all of which enabled me to confidently apply to graduate schools for a Masters in Architecture with a portfolio made up of coursework over the year.Although it may sound cliche, the faculty really pushes you to think "outside the box" when formulating conceptual designs and to create a rule-based system to help guide your design process. Small class sizes enable individual attention and refinement through projects. Of course LAIAD wants to see you succeed academically, but more so with a solid approach to be a better designer. My advice to anyone considering architecture and design as a career, enroll in LAIAD.

CBD College: what do users think?

Jazmine Carrizosa: Staff and Instructors are so attentive and helpful. Highly recommend MRI program! Daniela, Miranda, Cory, and many more staff members are very supportive and care for your education/future!

Stanley E.T: Man the free CBD that this particular college provides is something that separates them from other health intuitions. its really interesting how they teach newcomers about the benefits of being high while attempting to complete daily tasks as a potential doctor. I might have been fumbling around with my blue robe or cutting Random electrical wires while on duty, but in the end its not being the most proficient at all, its about trying your best.

christopher fonseca: once I received my license from DCA. I used to always say I'll got back to school next year, and that turned into 3, then 5, and so on. My brother said to me time will pass regardless, might as well have it pass and have a degree already. That was my final push to make the move to attend CBD College.

Shannon Plunkett Caceres: First and foremost, I would like to say that if you’re interested in pursuing a career in the medical field, CBD College would be a great place to enroll. The staff and teachers are a pleasure to work with. I began my journey at CBD in 2019 with the MRI program. The classes were taught so well by each teacher, that for the first time in a long time, I actually grasped the knowledge with full understanding. After graduating with my AA, I then enrolled into CBD again to obtain my BA in Health Science. At first, I was a bit nervous because I was sure the courses were not going to be easy but each professor took their time teaching us thoroughly and also made time for us if we ever needed help outside of classroom hours which was incredibly helpful for me. Overall, CBD is one of the best colleges that I’ve been to and I would like to say, THANK YOU ALL for giving me a wonderful career ! #AA2020 #BA2022

Chyna Banks: My experience at CBD college was great. Great staff with amazing teachers who are very knowledgeable. They make sure you are prepared for your boards and even help you with job placements after graduation. I was lucky enough to have a job waiting on me right after completing my program through my clinical site. I recommend CBD college if you’re looking for a great education that will prepare you for your next health career! 10/10 recommend.

Stephanie Vela: The best teachers and most well taught you’ll learn the right techniques and nice and understanding teachers the staff are kind as well

Chloe Hucks: I went to this school during COVID for MRI. I started 2020 and the integration between going online for school was rough. The teachers were great though. The material is tough to get the hang of at first but interesting. I give it only 4 stars because in the beginning of my admission the admissions officer said certain things that weren’t true or I felt i was a little misled but other than that the school itself isn’t bad at all. Those 2 years went by so quick. My program director was so helpful and he’s such a great teacher as well. Thanks for everything!

CASA - The Chef Apprentice School of the Arts: what do users think?

Vanessa A Cortez: Chef Kristi is an incredible individual to learn from, not only does she instruct what one should do in terms of technique but she also goes into the why’s as well.

Michael Golembiewski: initiated, and has maintained, consistent engagement and rapport, Throughout the program. Additionally, I’ve had the opportunity to learn from and work directly with, one of the most masterful and intuitive Chefs in the booming Nashville, Tennessee finer dining world.Ultimately, if you are passionate about embarking confidently in the culinary world, and you take learning seriously, CASA is a no brainer. 5 stars :

John Ollier: This was a wonderful educational opportunity and experience for me. Everything was fairly self paced and the hands on experience in a restaurant setting was very valuable to my learning! Highly recommend CASA!

Brandon G: Brandon GuerreroTraining at the restaurant that CASA assigned me to was just amazing it’s a real eye opening experience for me. The resturant CASA assigned me to had me learning different things all the time everyday I learned something new. I really liked the fact that in the resturant absolutely nothing went to waste. The chefs at the restaurant were so welcoming and I loved that I always got to ask them questions and ask them about there journeys about becoming a chef and everyone had a different experience so I learned as much as I could While at CASA.The hands on is more than what I could ask for i got to cook, cut, clean and help with service , just seeing a resturant in motion was pretty nice.

Vicente Morales: Learning how restaurant kitchen works is sometimes good but can be busy, like super busy. I've learned as much as I could from my mentor and working in the kitchen of Carnivale Chicago, even though I actually do not work there because I was a CASA student. Working with my academic facilitator is very good and very helpful when it comes to tutoring sessions. It is a shame though that CASA Chicago school is not here anymore.

Jon Harte: I had a wonderful time with my mentor Chef Kristen and the staff that she has. I learned so much under her and through the Casa program. My academic advisor Josyln was great at keeping me focused on my work and making sure I was able to complete all I needed. I would highly recommend that if you want to further your culinary degree that this is the place to go.

Albert Kim: Great way for an aspiring chef to get their foot in the door. I learned a lot from the real-world experience I have received from long time professionals, all while making the connections needed to further my career.

Anthony Recinos: Overall this what a great experience. My mentor Joslyn was awesome! Always have the best advice and always showed that she cared about my well being and about my academics. The externship pet of the course was also great, got to work alongside chef Matt. He taught me so much!

Sarah S. Stephens: I was absolutely blown away by this program! I started in late January and graduated today June 21st. My adviser was so invested in making sure I was having a great time. She made it her personal mission to answer any question I had. What I felt was most important, sharing photos of my food was always met with encouragement, compliments, and suggestions. I love the connections I made through this program. I highly recommend anyone go here! 3

Jimmy Edwards: My personal experience, has been wonderful. Working with a chef one on one, gives you the opportunity you need to receive the best training that you can get. Whatever you need help with, the chef is right there to assist you. When it comes to training with a knife or various different types of equipment, the chef is right there to show you the correct way or answer any questions that you may have.

Maniyah Greene: When i first started the program i was a little hesitant to start. Joslyn was such an amazing advisor whenever I ran into challenges while in the program she was there every step of the way to help guide me through. Her weekly check-ins made me feel like i mattered rather than just another name in her computer. Chef Yusef from Ms.Iceys Kitchen and Bar was a great help as well. I highly recommend trying out the location not just for the lessons, but the food is also amazing. He was very patient, welcoming, and understanding which made me ready to show up and engage every time. I really recommend Casa to anyone that's ready to finally take that leap of faith to do something different to help them with their careers.

SOS: Wonderful program at RRFC. Always checking up on you and providing any help needed. Being in person help a lot with knowing how a kitchen is run.

Taja Newell: First off, without CASA I would be years behind in my career. They gave me the opportunity to prove myself and get hired at PastaBar. This is only the beginning, but CASA allowed me to get a headstart.

Mel Aguilar: Positive:Communication,Quality

Bryant Avant: I love this school. I graduated and got to cook for artist like P!NK and Rascoe Flats.

Ms fae, Nkechi know your labs she says. Mr Adrian always ready to help. Ms Robyn your patience and fortitude is exemplary.Ms Kim always solves all problems and Jennifer always at the helm of affairs. Jenny my financial help girl, when I grow up I will definitely have your grace. CDI A PLACE OF EXCELLENCE .

Erica M (The Bodied Experience): CDI is an amazing institution, filled with amazing instructors! If you want to complain about some instructors moving too fast or too slow then feel free, however there are several instructors here who are willing to help, motivates, encourage, and guide you in the right direction. What doesn’t work for you can be addressed and a course that will better suit you can be implemented. I was a single mother, full time worker, and hadn’t been to school in over 10 years and I did it! I highly recommended CDI!

Taylor Broussard: Currently in the program. Fantastic instructors and faculty. Would recommend to any perspective LVN

Rosy A: I completed CDI in 2018. It's a great school with caring instructors who WILL MAKE YOU SUCCEED and pass the NCLEX. I went with the strict learning flow, shed a few tears along the way but reached my goal of becoming an LVN. Some forever friends have been made. Thank you CDI. Coming back 4 years after school to write a review with 5 stars should tell you something!!

Giovanni Bautista: I graduated from CDI on June 2022! I passed my NCLEX on the first attempt with 75 questions! It was an amazing experience because of the friends I made along the road, helpful staff, and their financial aid!Kim Cooper truly wants to help her students succeed, but you have to put in the work and study hard! There were moments in which I thought I was not going to be good enough to become an LVN, but I made it! Shoutouts to Adrian and Robyn in which my opinion were the best lecture professors as well as the clinical instructors: Toni, Kim Taylor, Fae, and Kristy!

Winter Wyatt: I LOVE Emily ❤️ I really wanted to get into a LVN program ASAP and was able to with her help. She's super sweet and helpful. I love my teacher Adrian and the school in general. I definitely recommend this school for their LVN progam.

Stephanee. Mamon: Highly recommend. Instructors and Staff are incredible. They really prepare you to pass your nclex. Passed my NCLEXPN the first time. Kim is awesome. Best decision coming to this school.

I enjoyed my time there, made new friends and the staff was great! The instructors were knowledgeable and helpful and always willing to help me and other students.

D Woodard: This school changed my life! The staff members are incredibly supportive and always available for tutoring or anything else that you may need to get you to the end of the program and NCLEX ready. I have zero complaints.
