Sew FYI: what do users think?

Jasmine Pierce: I love it here and have learned so much in such a short time. The staff is also very welcoming.

izmailia s: Very nice instructor and excellent professionalism

Ofri Hazut: Megan was great and patient! Explained really good and was very professional. really recommend just took one class and bought the designer package I am really excited

Yen B: My pattern making class was fun, easy and comfortable. Parking was free on Sunday in downtown with ease of finding a spot early in the morning. I’m looking forward to more classes in the future.

Shelby W: Megan was a great teacher that took her time to explain as much as possible in the amount of time allotted. 4/5 stars due to the price - to - education on sewing ratio and lack of guide or resource. I learned a good amount but felt the class could have taught more at ~43/hr. I feel like everything taught was rushed and that everyone should have been given a document or link to a video guide specifying learned terms since there was no time in the class to take notes. The bag created was fun to make.

Ysabella Ho: I found SewFYI through the online because I was looking for an introduction to sewing. I was pleasantly surprised when I came here. Megan was so kind and helpful throughout the entire process. She was extremely informative and patient as well. The place is well organized, with clean bathrooms and even refreshments. I was able to get an introduction to the sewing world and would definitely recommend this location for all your fashion needs. Will definitely be coming back!

Danny Hayes: This place is the best!! After my first class with Jessica I feel comfortable using a machine and bought the 5x bundle.

Carol Lim: I just took the intro to sewing class with megan b and had the best time! She was the best teacher and helped us easily remember all the steps in threading!

Dana Pieper: Had a great time at the Intro to the Home Sewing Machine class! Great instruction and came away with a very cute tote!

Brit Posen: Jessica is a great instructor! The studio has a friendly vibe and I enjoyed learning!

Christine Long: My daughter took the sewing 101 class. She learned a lot in a short time and made a very nice tote bag. The instructor was very nice and informative. The space was very nice and spacious. We are looking forward to taking more classes soon!

Riley Shapiro: Jess is the best

tucker page: Jessica was a great teacher for the beginner sewing classes I really enjoyed my time here and learned some valuable skills.

Jessica K: and it was so fun and informative! the teacher, jessica, did a great job and i’m looking forward to taking another class here again soon.

Tykweisha Wilson: I absolutely LOVE Sew FYI!!! It’s a great place for any level of experience you may have. If you’ve been thinking about starting to sew or simply want to enhance the skills you have I highly recommend this place!! You won’t regret it.

Haley Min Young Kreofsky: I've taken several classes at sewfyi and the instructors are all very helpful.

Kharen Zeunert: I had a great experience! I took the Draping 1 class with Jessica, the class was small which I appreciated, it allowed her to easily move around the room to check in with everyone. Her directions were clear and she was very knowledgeable. The room setup was great, a/c was perfect, they also provide snacks and water. I left with a draped front and back bodice pattern which I feel is the beginning, I look forward to more classes!

Caroline McCune: Incredibly helpful teachers — highly recommend the 1-on-1 classes for help with specific projects.

Jane Sroka: Spent a day having a private lesson with Megan this week. I'm an experienced sewer with gaps in my knowledge which Megan helped to fill. Hoping to get back someday to learn a few more new skills. Location is great, parking is not!

StitchSpace LA: what do users think?

Fiona Simpson: Stitch Space is the best place to learn about fiber arts. I’ve been taking the machine sewing classes and have learned so much! Everyone who works/teaches there is incredibly kind and resourceful. Stitch Space is amazing 3

Michele Shi: Super fun class with Samantha! We took a beginner class to make tote bags and everyone successfully completed the project! Samantha was a skillful, helpful, patient, and funny teacher. There also were plenty of other instructors walking around helping anyone who needed it. I definitely plan on going back because of how kind everyone was + how fun the class was! It is extremely affordable for what you get in this experience. Thanks everyone!

Judi Diamant: Took a beginning sewing class with Vanessa. It was perfect! I used my own sewing machine but they also have machines. No pressure. Nice atmoshere. I'll go back.

Beka T (Bex): Amazing place, bright and welcoming. Amy and Samantha are knowledgeable and kind. 10/10 recommend!

Pepper Reed: I love StitchSpace! I have learned so much & been so welcomed.

Harmony Lymphatics: are all very knowledgeable and very good teachers. They are kind, patient with me, and provide amazing 1 on 1 tutoring. I feel very confident that I will learn all the skills necessary to be successful at my arts and crafts project. I’ll be back next week for my 4th lesson. As always, the class atmosphere is both educational and fun!

Tara Mulligan: A great place to bring a sewing project you need help on, or to learn from scratch! I also took two crochet classes that launched an obsession. So happy with what I learned here and the instructors are amazing!

Tiffany Adams: My daughter has absolutely loved coming to this amazing sewing studio, Amy and Samantha are the best! These women really know what they’re doing. My daughter really loved seeing her visions come to life. I know she learned skills here that she will never forget. The environment is very warm and friendly.I love the fact that it’s a safe place you cannot just walk-in, you have to be buzzed in. I felt very comfortable leaving my child here, I knew she was safe and in good hands. There’s also the cutest little dog that’s there every week can’t forget about him, he’s part of what makes this studio such a great place to come too!

v miller: This is the BEST place in LA!! The most knowledgable teachers and a great creative supportive atmosphere. My daughter's happy place. Cant say enough about the owners and staff. Hight reccommend for basic skills or more advanced learning. They can sew ANYTHING and the classes are AMAZING!! We will be here all summer!! Thank you thank you Stich Space!!

Jem Powell: This sewing studio teaches a broad range of skills in a warm and friendly environment. I have been able to choose my projects and have receoved skilled advisement on how to sew things I can wear with fabric I love. I had always wanted to be able to sew and I felt immediately welcome after beginning classes in September of last year. Still going strong twice a week most weeks. I would highly recommend for children and adults alike!

Peggy at the Movies: Love this place. I was hesitant as it's kinda far from where we live, but Samantha and Amy both know what they are doing here and are very good teachers. They are strict, but in a very kind and patient way to keep you on point. It is myself and my 9 yr old who probably gravitated better with the machine than me. But we can't wait for our next class. I highly recommend this for anyone who is looking to learn to sew.

Lorelei Leslie: Stitch space is the greatest place to learn how to sew! I bring my granddaughter here as much as possible and she absolutely loves it. They work with all ages from kids to adults anyone who wants to learn can come. The teachers are incredibly patient and kind and really help everyone understand how to sell. They make adorable things and Abigail can’t wait to come back!

Lucretia MacEvil: build upon and perfect and progressively add more challenging techniques. They are truly your biggest cheerleaders and you walk away each class with a new skill acquired and a pep in your step, always at least a little more self-confident than when you walked in. I just got some gift certificates for some friends and family members

Haley Zankman: The women that own this place/work here are SO lovely. Everyone is incredibly helpful, patient, and knowledgable. I am so sad I don't live in LA anymore because I would go here forever. I had no sewing knowledge at all whatsoever and did not at one point ever feel overwhelmed or embarrassed.Thank you so much for all of your help ladies!!

Dani Newman: I will never have enough good things to say about StitchSpace LA!!! I picked this spot after reading the awesome Google Reviews and can confirm, Samantha and Amy are the absolute best in the business and are so knowledgeable + fear no sewing challenge! I came in as a complete beginner months back and got totally hooked. Coming to class is always a bright spot in my week, the environment is welcoming and is the perfect judgement free zone to learn machine sewing. This place is special and the instructor’s wealth of experience and combined expertise has something to offer everyone no matter your level.

Alexandria Loiseau: Very friendly and knowledge. Remembers past customers and welcomes them by name.

Jane Eckert: Spectacular classes and even better teachers!

JOANN Fabric and Crafts: what do users think?

Gloria Macias: This location has two levels and has everything anyone could possibly need. The employees were all super friendly and helpful.

Art Hernandez: Good selection, but they didn’t have enough stock for some of the items I was looking for. The check out line can be a little slow at times but very easy to find parking.

Bryna: And just like that, I’ll never go to Michael’s again5 stars additional just for Austin and Maria

M J W: They almost always have what we need for crafts, baking, and sewing. Wish they had a greater selection of yarn.

Michael Levine, Inc.: what do users think?

Arthur Bouffard: the most massive textile shop I have every seen. The amount of fabrics available here is above anything I’ve seen. I have not purchased any products yet, but was impressed by the range of buttons, patches, textiles and accessories available here. Truly impressive

Rodolfo Ascencio: Excelente services, a lot to choose, fantástico, I'm ready for my new project,

Isaac Solis: Friendly staff good selection

Nebila Abdulmelik: This is where I found the most beautiful material to add on to my wedding dress. It was exquisite. Everyone who saw it loved it.

SARATU MARKUS: They have a great variety of fabrics and good prices.

Kim Stuart: Probably the most organized and more like shopping in a 'real' store in the district. They have amazing selections, beautiful fabrics, incredible amount of inventory. You're not likely to find super cheap deals here; it's not that kind of a shop, so keep that in mind when you walk through - their prices aren't high, they are middle of the road for what they are selling.

Marian Azdril: I am sad to say this store is now closed for good. I believe Covid did them in.

Nancy Wear: There is so much fabric! The staff was so kind. You can find some great deals.

Jon Winston: Great fabric and staff.

Hisham TheMachine: Best store in the fabric district

evelyng martinez: Excellent

Mood Fabrics: what do users think?

Adriana Madrigal-Munoz: Lovely store. Huge selections of all types of fabric! Service was very good and employees were super helpful. It was my first time there, and I will return for sure.

Dante Wilson: Great one stop shop for all fabric needs

Francesca Alexander: Very helpful. It was like fantasyland of fashion. Amazing customer service. Very personable experience. 🙌🏾.

Marian Grant: This is one of the places you will enjoy if you are an avid sewer. This store has some of the most unique material, buttons, and notions. You will find items that are not at the local fabric stores. It can be pricey but it is worth your money. There is parking and meter parking on the street.

Kimbely Campbell: If you sew, design, or have watched Project Runway, you must visit. They have everything! Fabric, leather, buttons, zippers, lace, you name it. Come prepare to stay awhile. There are seats and a public restroom. They have a parking lot and ample metered street parking. Our customer service experience was great, They do allow some swatching, just ask for help. The checkout process was efficient and quick. If you can reach and carry your bolt, place it on a table for cutting. I'm so glad we went.

Elena Korbukh: My favorite place

evelyng martinez: Very good

Lukas Faering: It’s mood, not much to say other than that it’s probably the best fabric store out there. It’s only a shame only that only what feels like a tiny fraction of the brick and mortar stores’ selection is online.

John Litvin: My wife wouldn't leave this store! She wanted to spend all day shopping here! Tons of fabric from around the world. They even have a couch and a couple of chairs for spouses. Worth a visit.

thegardengazer: My favorite destination to find a plethora of fabrics with the most beautiful in quality and prints.

Alejandro Rivera Campuzano: Great selection of fabrics

Rachel Fox: Beautiful place. Friendly staff.

Calli Martin: I wanted to give a shout-out to all the workers here for their amazing customer service. I needed help with a lot of different things as I am not a designer and there was always somewhere there to help me look for fabric or get whatever I needed. Probably the best customer service I have ever received in la!
