When I don't have time to drive to HP, I order online and it usually comes the next day!Fantastic stationery store with onsite letterpress shop that makes greeting cards and notebooks. Very pastel SoCal aesthetic. They also carry some P.F. Candle Co jar soy candles and Kaweco fountain pens, cartridges and ink bottles.

M: This pairs perfectly with Crush & Touch next door even though I am aware they are unaffiliated with each which is surprising! At Shorthand, you will find more analogue and drafting tools with a better selection of graphite and paper materials. Nevertheless, the shop is still fun and tactile with plenty of spirit as everything is color coordinated rather than grouped in subjects! So, you have inspiration delivered to you if you are planning out a desk or an office space from scratch. The folks at the counter are warm as they are resourceful and collected in L.A. and they will give you more suggestions for stationary around the area! However, both Shorthand along with its wall-neighbor, Crush & Touch, are just the perfect companions for what you need regarding colors AND analogue materials.

Stephanie Lee: This review is a couple of weeks late but I had to write it because the service was so prompt and great. I needed a document notarized quickly to get apostilled at the Secretary of State office and I just googled the closest place. Three popped up. I wasn’t sure where to go because I didn’t want to get ripped off but I was in a hurry. I just decided to call and whoever was able to help finish my paperwork, I’d go. Luis said I can come now and have it done. It was a fast 5 minute walk. I was in and out within 10 minutes and his pricing was as so cheap. $15 per notarized document. He was super nice too. Thanks Luis.
Tyler Cole: I got sent here by someone in the Secretary of State office after a previous notary messed up the document. I was able to print a new form here, and Dilip was able to do everything super fast. Fantastic service, and super close to the SoS office! Will definitely be my first choice from now for notary services.

Each book has 138 pages, and each page has 9 lines, so that means he had done notary 19251 times. Guess he is the busiest notary man in LA.

mx alix: The rare luxe stationery store featuring Japanese writing papers, Japanese pencils and Blackwing pencils, and a wide range of fountain pens from affordable plastic ones to $$$ heavy metal ones. A huge spectrum of premium inks! No Instagram aesthetic in sight. Assorted Crane and Fabriano papers and cards. Small gift section for dogs. Bellroy bags. Metered parking can be difficult to find. Like many small businesses, they have a limited return policy.

Jen Hurler: I had such an amazing experience at this store. I went for a meetup for fans of the notebook company Traveler's Company. The store has an amazing selection of products, especially Japanese stationary, and fountain pens from Japan and Germany, for reasonable prices. The staff was very friendly--especially Finn. He brought some of his own stamps and washi tape from home for the group to use and was very knowledgeable and passionate about all of the products. He helped my husband pick ink for his fountain pen, and I bought inserts for my notebook. They also have two greyhounds who are very friendly that walk around the store!

Scott Pactor: This is my go-to for cards since I live nearby. Not as big of a fan of the stationary and gift portions of the inventory, but the card game is absolutely an A+, and cards are SO important. Oh, also, they have an insane gift wrapping situation going on behind the counter, and I've seen people go absolutely bananas ordering that stuff.

I was sad to leave that store behind, but happy that Typo was there to fill the void.With merchandise catered to fans of franchises such as Harry Potter, Peanuts, The Simpsons, and more, Typo is perfect for young and old alike. Aside from the third party branded merchandise, Typo also offers many of their own items, such as fold-away laptop stands, bluetooth headphones, and a large concentration of art supplies, ranging from pocket-sized sketchpads, to bauble-tipped pens meant for both writing, and fidgeting.Constant rotation of new and exciting stock means that there's always more to come back for, and amazing deals make it easy to treat yourself without draining your bank accounts. I love Typo!

Marissa Garcia: lots of miffy stuff! went for some washi tape and gelly roll pens. not a huge selection but i found some cool options. store is also on the small side so don’t bring a stroller 😊
Yadira Marroquin: I really liked this place. It has books, stationery, book books, toys and more. Perfect place to get a gift for someone or to get the materials to start journaling. The quality of the notebooks is impressive as expected from Japanese products. And after that you can enjoy a delicious meal in the food court next to it.
The Faith Jones Band: I was so excited when I walked in the front door of Kinokuniya, it's like I was immediately transported to Japan. My new favorite place.

Sarah: So many cool things like plastic cutout of video game characters, specialty soaps and lotion, washi tape, drawing supplies variety of specialty pens. Also bookmarks and reader glasses. Would return next time in town though it gets expensive.
cyalova: This store is inside Mitsuwa Marketplace. It has a lot of Japanese related, cute merchandise,stationary, and some books.

M M: Kinokuniya tends to be pricy in every which way. Their manga is kept in pristine condition, since they all still have the plastic on. This specific location has a better selection of blind boxes than the one in downtown LA and Torrance. The store itself is also the smallest of the 3, but the selection is great, and the fact that it’s small helps with the browsing - you’re not as overwhelmed or having to run around and look for similar products like the other two. If I had to choose between this one and the other two, I’d go here for the art products and toys, and the Downtown LA one for manga. Still, this is my favorite one to go to, and I’ll continue to every time I need quality art supplies or collectibles.

Dzmitry Mik: if you are a professional in printing or if you have print shop - it is the right place. A huge amount of different kind of printing materials. Better to set up an account with them and have a discounted prices but you need to buy on a regular basis otherwise you will lose your discount.
