Eric Cervantes: The Cat & Fiddle is a local pub that has spent many years in the bustling town of Hollywood. It has been passed down from one family member to the next and has retained a grand reputation as a great establishment in a small nook of Los Angeles that serves fine British fare.The service is exquisite. The staff is friendly and offers wonderful suggestions. The space is what you expect from a great pub. Loud, raucous, fun-loving, and lively.The food is delicious. Served in a true British fashion. Flavorful and delicious. It's definitely worth the trip to come over and grab a pint and some chips with malt vinegar.
Antho GX: We go there to watch soccer games. We are glad to have a place in Hollywood to meet other soccer fans have do watch parties. Service is quick and friendly, food was fresh and pretty good. I recommend this place.Vegetarian options: A lot of dishes without vegetables only.Parking: Street parking is free until 3pm on Thursday. Not sure abou others days. They have a small parking lot in the back.

I haven't all, or even a lot, of the Mac and cheese in LA but I'd bet there's not many better!

Tonya Bell: Way back in the day, we used to go to The Cat when it was on Sunset, and we were sad to hear they closed. So, fast forward to years later, we were happy to see they reopened, and we finally made it down to enjoy. The atmosphere is great, the food and drinks are delicious and the service was perfect. Fish & Chips, Apple Butter Bee's Knees and Sticky Toffee pudding was heaven! Pictured is the Beef Wellington which my husband thoroughly enjoyed.
Sean Black: Went for the Sunday Roast. Angus beef was outstanding. Potatoes and veg perfectly cooked, gravy on the side. My parents were from Yorkshire and the pudding was not perfect but very good. It’s hard to cook Yorkshire Pudding perfect and I enjoyed it. In town visiting my daughters and I will definitely come here again; especially on a Sunday. And the atmosphere is very much a British pub style.

Herbie: Driven by this place at least a hundred times. Thought I'd try it after everyone keeps saying how good it is. What a pleasant surprise. Very nice place. Bigger than it looks from the outside. The food was excellent. It's not like a lot of pubs that have a kitchen just to circumvent the liquor license laws, it was legit food. Fish and chips were perfect. Great friendly crowd, no cliques, no hipsters, all cool. I'll definitely go back.

Miss HD: Nice local gastropub. It's on Sunset Blvd, which can make parking a challenge.It's a nice casual gastropub w outdoor sitting. They are fur baby friendly, which is a definite plus. The menu has vegan and non vegan options. I ordered the following items:-Angry Vegan Pizza: Really like the thin crunchy crust. It's not as spicy as I thought it would be. David Farias: Great place for German food and beer. Fun atmosphere. Had issues getting a vegetarian bratwurst, but the waitress made extra efforts to get it to me after delays in the kitchen.Vegetarian options: Veggie burger and bratwurst available. The mustard and sauerkraut make the difference for the bratwurst.
Steven Lastname: This is an extremely old school German restaurant. The sauerbraten was excellent, as were the pretzels and beers. The service is what i would call no nonsense, perhaps a bit direct. Good vibe.They landed on the North America's 50 Best Bars list. Genever is one of the only three bars from LA.I had Presko, daily gimlet, refreshingly fruity for the start. Medya-Medya: boozy martini, just the way I like. New Bimini Place, a complex sweet and sour drink that don't taste boozy but I know it's the drink that will take me to another dimension. Sip. Sip.
Jeff Cruz: Great little cocktail bar in Filipino Town. Inside is tastefully decored and intimate. Has an art deco vibe. Decent amount of seating. A great place for a date or small groups. The cocktails are delicious. Can definitely recommend the Banana Hammock and Dude in Hifi. They also have a few happy hour specials from 6-8.Service was great. Friendly staff. There's street parking but it fills up fast, you might have to walk a block or two.

Salserx usually arrive at 11PM—I greeted them when I was leaving and they were entering. Key#2: have a GF check out ya outfit, make-up, level of your facial glitter BEFORE leaving ya crib. What seems moderate to me may entirely appear clown-like or Mustang Ranch to fellow Clubbers. I repeat: don't go ordering your Uber to get there until 10:45-11PM PM, oyo?Vegetarian options: Phillip, attentive Barkeeper, will hand you popcorn, if you request it with already drink.Parking: Hey Paisanos: take an Uber or Lyft to & from Club. Only restricted resident parking within 12 blocks. Getting a fine around here will cost you a lot of money. Don't do that to yourself when you've just had a fabulous cumbia party @ The Virgil.

Sarath Chan: Definitely a good spot to hang out and have drinks with friends. The servers were really nice. The only problem for me was the popcorn shrimps were pretty disappointing, there were more flour then the actual shrimps. I love shrimps so I was pretty disappointed about it. OMAR A. MUHAMMAD, TH.M: The Semi-Tropic is is a pleasant surprise. My wife and I were out on a date while our children were doing their thing, and we bumped into this wonderful establishment. Parking is a bit sketchy. However, the atmosphere is cool and relaxing. I enjoyed watching the bartender shake drinks. He did it so rhythmically, yes I think the thing that surprised me the most was the food. I ordered a shrimp like poor boy. I’m not sure what it was but oh my God it was so good perfectly the shrimp were perfect. The amount was yes enough yes spilling over enough it was just delicious and my wife order she said her food was delicious too so friendly people over there. I enjoyed the experience.. the prices was about right too well worth it.
David Wong: Bartender incredibly passionate about his craft. Service was equivalent to an upscale bar at a 5 star report. Without any of the snobby part. Drinks are quite creative and the cocktails we ordered were balanced, very well thought out from the flavors to the presentation. Laid back vibe great for a weekday date. Pre pandemic pricing as well. 10 stars. Long live Semi-Tropic.
V. Gilmore: I came here with a friend for happy hour. It was fantastic! We ordered two Cowboy Killer drinks which came in a bottle that was filled with some delicious, campfire-like smoke. And we had the flat bread and watermelon salad. I usually dislike watermelon salad but this was delicious! I also took a shrimp roll home to my boyfriend who raved and raved about it. I will definitely be going back! My only note is that parking isn’t the best but it’s worth it!

Petra Lichtenecker: I hear the food is really good and it is a lovely atmosphere.However, as an owner of a 300 year old half-timbered house in a town with lots of these houses, and a lover of this building style, the face of the building pains me greatly. What are some of those beams supposed to support? And if nothing, who would make such a messy decorative beam design? Why does America do this to us - oh, my heart.

Xander: Wanted to come on here and show some love for an awesome night. I love a place that is exactly what it’s meant to be. To me, Tam offers a historical story, great food, and casual high end service. Amaya was personable and the rest of our wait staff were attentive but not overly so. They allowed my friends and I to enjoy our meal from start to finish. Prince Charles was juicy with good flavor. The spinach was seasoned and not too creamy. You must get the brisket on with the gravy fries. The drink selection was top tier with a good selection of beers, spirits, and creations. Honestly everything I’d want a Scottish establishment to be.

Jayda Brown: I don’t usually do reviews, but I had to for this place! It was AMAZING! My girlfriend and I had never tried German food before this, so they were so good about giving recommendations. I got the pork jager schnitzel… sooooo good. I'm still thinking about it the next day. My gf got the spicy chicken schnitzel sandwich, it was delicious and so juicy with lots of flavor. The beers were so tasty. Definitely coming back… maybe tomorrow 😂

Loved the potato salad and sour kraut too. Not to be ignored, the Kaiser Schnitzel with the sun dried tomato cream sauce is a great option too. I would be remiss if I didn't sing the praises of the exotic meat sausage sampler plate...AMAZING!!!
