peggy cullinane: I have had 3 wonderful sessions with Charles Haywood the gifted reflexologist. And I have had 2 sessions of his personal coaching and 1 session of his Qi Gong works. All these sessions brought down my pain level. I have been living in 8 degree pain after falling 9 times after my total knee replacement. I believe that I was too heavy and old for that surgery. My sessions with Charles relieved my pain and it felt wonderful. He has a vast amount of experience as a personal coach and Qi Gong instructor. I thank GOD for giving us all Charles Haywood. What I was not expecting though was instead of a few routine questions about my issues and then a session , it was a comprehensive, in depth conversation about everything that was going on with me physically and mentally. Charles then made me do a few things , like stretching and checking my balance etc. I assume it was to gain some knowledge and determine what was going on with my body. Then relaxing on the table he proceeded to balance my chakras . I never had that done before and I must say it was amazing. The actual foot reflexology was incredible and I left there practically walking on air. The next day I had so much energy and it was as if something was unblocked in me and I felt incredible. It was a truly surreal experience and I am so fortunate to have found such a wonderful healer. I will absolutely continue my treatment with him and suggest you experience it as well.

Julie Schatz: Based on my experience I would say that Charles is a gifted energy healer. I received a reflexology treatment. The overall experience was unique - beginning with balancing my chakras. Once my chakras were opened we discussed where I had tightness in my body. The reflexology treatment on my feet eased the pain in my body. Health Channel (Hydrogen Rich Water): I had the foot reflexology twice on my feet and has made a world of difference. Charles works deep into every part of my feet. It's a feeling that is indescribable. Your feet feel like they are floating when he finishes. Rejuvenated is the word I was looking for. We don't we pay much attention to our feet. We should. They carry the entire weight load of our body and we need to take care of them like any other part of our body. I am glad I know Charles and his reflexology. co co: My experience of Charles Haywood III and his wonderful Reflexology practice is that he is so much more than a talented and skilled health professional, he's a gifted healer.I am currently dealing w/ a serious injury and many disempowering diagnoses to go with it. From the moment I met Charles, his smile, his personal warmth, his intuitive understanding, I felt safe, reassured and empowered by his being, his kind words & healing touch.During my first Reflexology session w/ Charles, after about 20 mins I went into a hypnogogic state, a state of deep relaxation, not fully awake and not asleep.I went 'out of body' for a time and saw myself lying on the table, as my Conscious Self hovered above me in the room, I was unable to recall which part of my body was injured. A fantastic feeling, experiencing myself as already whole and complete in that 'astral plane', like the injury had dissolved in time/ space.After the treatment I felt amazing, deeply relaxed and calm, physically and emotionally for the next few days. Christine Sloat: I really do like coming here. When you walk in it does not gove.off day spa vibes, but the place is clean and no waiting time. I get a different masseuse each time and they have all been good, only one time did I have to ask them not to.massage so deep. The parking situation is typical LA parking so give yourself a little extra to park on the lot or find street parking.

They have thin loose comfortable clothes for massage in.

They always assess ur body right when you lay down and can tell what’s been bothering u without u even having to tell them! Side 2 Side: I have always had great massages at National Holistic both Los Angeles and Berkeley.Once in Berkeley I was really looking forward to my 1st Tandem massage.The man at my feet was amazing, and I had to have him change positions with the woman who clearly didn't know what she was doing. Not such a good experience. However, my massages and both my guest that I introduced to the school's massages have all had wonderful experiences.I just wish for today that you were open.

Lorina Hill: I have been receiving massages at “THE NOW” along Ventura Blvd. After a couple months, I finally asked my Massage Therapist where he was trained and he told me, NHI on the corner of Vineland and Ventura. I went there to check it out and attended their open house. I felt at home. I could feel the closeness and good camaraderie among the students. Now, I am one of their students. Although I already have a career in nursing, I felt as though having massage therapy skills, which I love, would be something I look forward to everyday. I love receiving massages. My classmates can attest to that as I always ask for more even when the session is over.The instructors and staff at NHI are awesome. They are all very welcoming and approachable. I am very appreciative of their dedication. They are very supportive toward the success of the students. They constantly check on us and give us updates about our current curricular status and are very accommodating. For example, if any of us find ourselves in financial difficulties, and can't afford to buy food, NHI has a shelf full of dry goods for any of us to eat.Additionally, our school is well known at sporting events. Recently, my instructor organized a volunteer massage for the runners at the LA Marathon. I experienced it firsthand, it was fantastic to be able to help the athletes, and they were very appreciative. I cannot wait to have a private practice of my own and be my own boss!

Ruzanna Seelig: I am in love with this school! I started my Core program this January, and in just 2 months I can tell that I’m a completely different person. First of all, the curriculum is great, and being very methodical and analytical person who prefers to take in the information from A to B to C, I really appreciate the way the material is presented, structured and explained in both practical and theory classes. Teachers and staff are extremely nice and helpful, and what I love is that they will take their time and make sure you understand everything while being very understanding with you. Hands on experience is like no other! Love clinics, where I get to massage customers and get feedback that I need while in school. On top of that, I already started my externship with spa, which is amazing, considering that 2 months ago I had no experience in massage at all. This school really makes you go into the real world and get as much hands on and networking experience as possible. The energy of school is so welcoming, I wish I could live here. I have met so many great people! Can’t imagine what it will be like by September, when I’m supposed to graduate, looking forward to this moment while I enjoy every single day spent here. Highly recommend to anyone who is considering massage therapy as their profession.

Parking is plentiful, the availability spilleth over, the communication great, and the hot stones worth every pebble. My pro tip for you is to remember to use your library voice inside. I once came into the lobby talking like a carnival barker and I felt like a real dummy when I realized there was a sensual stone massage happening mere inches away. The prices here are so reasonable you can and should tip $20+ or more.Update: This is still my top spot. I tried a few others in the area and they aren’t consistent like YOLO.If you want to be truly pulverized ask for Kelly. The receptionist kept referring to Kelly’s strength but I was truly not prepared. Yes it gets to the point where you’re trying to remember your safe word, so if that’s your bag this is your woman! you feel so transformed afterward you wonder if you should really be driving yourself home or phone a friend!

Miles Gerami: I've been here 4 times. Each time the massage was generally good. However today I didn't have the best experience. I went in and asked for the $50 full body. The woman at the front desk asked if I wanted it hard, but I told her medium strength was all I wanted. She persisted and said I could handle her hard massage but again I said not too hard please. She ends up being my masseuse, which is not usually the case as from my experience the lady at the front desk delegates another person to do the massage. Anyways she was not gentle, and her hands were very rough with calluses. She also must have had some sort of indigestion because she was burping as well. At the end, I did not feel like the massage was worth a $15 tip, especially because she did not follow my instructions and was generally quite gross in her mannerisms. I gave her $10 and then she got upset. Oh well, I'll probably come again because this experience was a one off for me, but I did not like today's experience.

I feel like people take advantage of the good prices and don't tip enough and soon the prices will all go up because of it - so I try to pay it forward.
Jodi S: This is one of our favorite places. I’d recommend calling ahead to make sure they have space. We usually get a room with two beds. This is not a super fancy spa but the quality of massage, heated beds and the consistency is stellar. The walls can be a little thin so if someone enters or is talking loudly or there’s a loud car that passes by you can unfortunately hear it but that never bothers me that much. These Aunties really do Werk and they deserve it. Their prices are super fair so we usually tip them around $20 on a hour combo massage.
