Blue Holic Scuba: what do users think?

Amanda W: If you can swim and are looking to have a memorable diving experience, look no further than this exceptional dive shop.My recent experience completing my PADI Open Water Certification dives with them was nothing short of amazing, and I highly recommend them. The staff was incredibly accommodating, organized, and friendly, making me feel comfortable and at ease throughout my time with them.I had the pleasure of working with three of their exceptional instructors, Keline, Michelle, and Don. Their expertise and professionalism contributed greatly to my safety and enjoyment throughout the dive. They patiently answered all of my questions and provided valuable tips to improve my skills underwater. Thanks to their guidance, I felt confident and well-equipped for the dives. The dives were a truly incredible experience. The clear waters and vibrant marine life left me in awe, especially as I explored the kelp forests. I can't wait to dive with them in the future!

Sidney Williams: Friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful staff!

LJ Alexandre-Strong: I am traveling to Asia for a couple months and decided to get scuba certified ahead of time in California. Blue Holic was the closest scuba shop to my home and was the first place I went, to learn about classes and how I could become certified. This was one of the best choices I made, the instructors and employees made me feel so welcome and comfortable, they were very flexible with my needs, and they had very thorough answers to all of my questions. I had some struggles and fear learning how to scuba and they guided me patiently throughout the entire experience. I am so grateful to my instructors, Keline, Gabi, Eryn, Seth, and Taylor for giving me tips and encouraging me the whole time! The community they have built is very kind and open, and I am so happy to have met them. I highly recommend Blue Holic for your varying scuba needs. If you want to get certified for the first time, this is your sign!

Elizabeth Fenner: Well stocked with gear, and they had just what I needed! And Keline was amazing, helping me pay from my phone when I realized I forgot my wallet. A gem of a store here in mid city.

C R: . Keline was extremely knowledge with any questions I had and they made sure I was happy with the fit. I left happy with a new Vader mask in my hand! If I lived in the area, I would definitely make this my regular dive shop!

Ingi Son: Got my rescue certified here and bought some scuba gears as well.My experience with BlueHolic has been amazing. I highly recommend taking courses here. The people in the shop are down to earth, knowledgeable, and truly passionate about diving. They happily answer any dive questions.I was also impressed by how thoroughly the instructors taught me through the rescue diver course. They were nice yet firm when it came to important skills and techniques. Contents were taught succinctly yet informatively. I surely got my money worth.Huge thanks to the instructors Harry, Keline and Seth! I am definitely a much more confident diver now!In terms of gears, Harry, the shop owner is knowledgeable and helpful finding the right gears I want. He is also a technician which means if I ever have any issues with gears such as regulator and bcd, he will take care of them. He also assembled the regulator and custom-fitted the backplate bcd I bought so It fits me really good.Overall, I had such a wonderful experience and became a better diver

Yongbae Kim: The owner is friendly, the instructors are friendly, and they teach really professionally. My daughter, who just turned 10, ordered the open water. I haven't been to any other places, but I think this is the best near LA.

Hyeyoon Kim: The teachers were extremely nice and patient. The classes were made simple for us and the ocean was fun to explore and take lessons in. I am 13 years old and my sister is 11 years old. If we could do it you can too! Try Blue Holic Scuba you will love it. I truly thank the team who were supportive.

Juliet Rhee: Great teachers. They are very skilled and kind. I really appreciate their effort to train me in the ocean. And their scuba equipments are very nice and good price. You should visit them and have a chance to explore the water with them.

Sarah Harkey: helped calm and reassure me, which helped me settle and try again. When we graduated to the first ocean dive, I was really nervous so Keline held my hand and kept eye contact to remind me to breath and that I was ok all the way down to the bottom. Unfortunately, my nerves had acted up too much and so I ultimately decided to return to the boat. There was no shaming or pushing, Keline checked in with me later and reassured me that I made a healthy choice for myself, which I appreciate. She helped me to see the achievements I've had instead of focusing on the "failures", and has helped me come up with a plan of baby steps to get me diving with more confidence. I'm looking forward to my next ocean dive with them, and am so appreciative of all of the healthy, emotionally aware support that they've given me. It's been therapeutic!

koach yuko: Homely, kind, secure and reliable, and all instructors are experiencedI had more experience than I expected.I'm glad that stress relief and lack of exercise are handled wellIt was really good to choose Blue Holic Scuba!!!!

Erik: Had a great experience with Blue Holic and their instructors. Everyone was super friendly, accommodating and made sure that everyone was able to accomplish all the skills safely. Will definitely go here for more advanced scuba lessons in the future.

Sunset Dream: Super helpful staff, great place to take padi dive lessons with good student discounts on equipment, I would recommend them to any beginner diver

Hollywood Divers: what do users think?

Devon Anderson: Incredible dive shop. I got certified here back in 2008 buy all my equipment here and The staff is so knowledgeable and helpful.

Tom Muller: I was packing for a trip to Mexico and discovered my snorkeling stuff had been stolen out of my garage. Ran over to Hollywood Divers, who could not have been more helpful. Offered me multiple good choices on all the things I needed, gave good advice, extremely friendly, straightforward and efficient. I was out of there in a half hour fully equipped, at a price I found surprisingly reasonable. Strongly recommend.

Jenny: that could. Thanks so much!!

Eric Goldman: Good quality stuff at reasonable pricesThe real ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ is their know knowledge and customer service!

Danielle Cruz: We came upon Hollywood Divers when our 17 year old son decided he wanted to get scuba certified. Having no experience ourselves, we walked in the shop one day with a million questions, and left feeling confident we couldn’t have found a better place. Hal, Joe and the team at Hollywood Divers have been nothing but helpful to our son throughout the whole process. They are all so kind, patient, encouraging, knowledgeable and informative. Something I find very special about a business is when you can tell that the employees are happy and sincerely interested in the needs of their customers and not just making a sale. This place is definitely one of those places that cares about their customers. They have spent so much time with our son, making sure he doesn’t just buy something but buys the right things. He has since gotten scuba certified and can’t wait until he turns 18 and can start joining some of the group dives. Thank you Hollywood Divers!

saddiqa Abdullahizuchiya: Great selection.

Gábor Kovács: I'm a European dive master and interesting about underwater filming. I'm extremely happy, satisfied and lucky to found this store. This shop is a must stop for divers!!!Super professional, super helpful and super friendly crew.I'm so lucky I can stay with this shop rest in my life.Let them teach you and your kids to be a scuba diver and you won't have gear or dive issue ever!!!Extremely recommended!!!

Shelby McClintock: The owner is very kind and informative. Willing to help and even include me on an upcoming dive trip!

Noah Goldman: Literally the most helpful, informative dive shop in LA. They have been around forever and have a fantastic reputation but do not rest on their laurels. They will give you the time you deserve and take pride in their experience and knowledge. The shop is organized, staff are incredibly fun and friendly, the equipment is top notch.

Ian Carre-Burritt: I've been into Hollywood Divers a few times for masks & snorkels, and I 100% recommend this shop. The staff & owner are super helpful & assisted my wife & myself fitting & buying our first serious dive masks, and made sure we were fitted correctly & knew how to wear the masks for best comfort & seal. Really positive attitude around the shop, and all the staff are committed to making sure customers are properly equipped to enjoy diving. I'll definitely be coming back for additional gear.

Matthew Wallace: What an absolute pleasure to spend a little over an hour at Hollywood Divers this morning. Everyone on staff was super helpful and willing to share information and major props to Hal for helping me find the right wet suit, mask, fins, snorkel, and dive computer! I couldn't ask for better service. While it's possible to buy equipment online at a slight discount, I visited their store because I wanted more than just the gear, I wanted professional, experienced input before purchasing. Being able to speak with people who are active and avid divers, who are able to share their experience and recommendations, is well worth paying a little more money. Btw, when you walk in, you're greeted, treated with respect, and you feel like family. I'm now looking forward to going on some of their dive tours around Catalina Island. Thank you Hollywood Divers!!!!!!!

Campo Colibri: Picked up a new semi dry suit today at a great price. Owner Hal is a wiz, and his staff - Jack, Kam, and Sal- bent over backwards grabbing me everything I asked for that I wanted to look at. I'm a 25+ yr diver and scuba instructor so believe me I've been in a lot of dive shops. Hollywood Divers won't steer you wrong.👊🏻

Julie P: I needed some gears to get ready for my upcoming dive trip and this shop had the best reviews so I decided to come here. As I entered the store, I was greeted by Hal and he was able to help me out with everything: mask, fins, boots, dive light, snorkel, etc. He is super friendly, knowledgeable, and gave me a lot of tips and tricks to prep for my trip.Just got back from my week long dive trip yesterday and let me tell you, all the gears that I bought fit me so well and worked great. Thank you Hal and will be back again for sure!

Gordon A: Joe was great and very knowledgeable I got everything I needed

David Williams: Hal, Joe and the team at Hollywood Divers are a fantastic group of knowledgeable and enthusiastic divers. From helping fit and choose a drysuit and training, to camera lights, regulator hoses, weekly gas fills or sourcing my other odd/specific requests, Hollywood Divers have given me dedicated and personal service every time I walk in. Highly recommended.

Osamah Bin Mahfouz: Best dive shop in LA, they are super organized and get you your gear asap. Can’t ask for more

Charlie: Great shop. Really helpful, welcoming and knowledgeable staff and a great selection of gear available for rent and purchase. Highly recommended.

Ma Ca: Service was good and they do have plenty of equipment for sale the only thing I see that they can do is give a paper Receipt at the end of the transaction I still gave not gotten my via text or email and it's been over a two weeks

TJ Cobb: This Dive shop is simply, outstanding. I am a recreational snorkeler/free diver and I have been able to get quality gear at a great price. But what’s better than the gear is the service you receive by the staff. Everyone who works there is friendly, knowledgeable, and very willing to spend time with you explaining options and giving advice. Jack helped me and my girlfriend find some amazing used gear so we can start our new hobby!

Eco Dive Center: what do users think?

Ramirez tile: Hello friends, I would like to practice diving and I like fishing, greetings

Mike Fuerst: I had an issue with some equipment and Ron worked with the original manufacturer to make it right and get me a replacement quickly. I really appreciated his help in getting me back out into the water!

David Coles: Los Angeles is fortunate to have such a full-service dive shop on the westside. They offer excellent dive excursions as well as skilled service, plus plenty of gear.

Barbara Goldberg: A great dive shop, so helpful, a great selection, found three things I needed. Reasonably priced. Like everyone in the area, dive shops have been closing non-stop and so to find one that is professional, with terrific gear made me so happy!! I really needed help and they gave it in a very relaxed, no-pressure way. One of the best shopping experiences at a dive shop ever!!! I'd go back in a heartbeat!

Eric Caesar: Worked with Jake to purchase the proper gear for local waters. Extremely helpful, knowledgeable and patient as I went through my requests and details. Never felt pressured to buy more than I needed, yet all the proper options were described and presented.

Oksana Matsella: Amazing store , staff very helpful, best customer services thank you so much Will for his help.

B Wright: My wife and I were signed up to take the confined water course. Two weeks before the course, my wife experienced a medical issue with her ear that ended her SCUBA career before it started. The folks at ECO were very understanding and refunded 80% of our money. I don't recall the exact terms of the payment, but I think that's more than they were obligated to refund, and I really appreciated it.

Anne Georgulas: My 2 kids just certified at Eco Dive center. The staff in store helped us fit gear. They even lent us a mask that fit better after the first weekend. Both our instructors were awesome, kind, knowledgeable and caring people . I couldn’t have asked for a better experience for my 11 year old and their adult sister.

In 2 Deep Diving: what do users think?

Angela White: If I could give this dive shop 10 stars I would! My husband and I recently traveled to California for vacation, and we wanted to take a dry suit diver course while there. In2Deep customized an itinerary that dovetailed perfectly with our schedule, and Nick and Abbie were fantastic instructors. In2Deep truly gave us a customized experience, even portaging our gear out to Catalina Island and back for us. Another huge plus is that they rent dry suits, while many other shops in the area do not. This is a family owned business that truly cares about their customers, and it shows!

Geoff Walsh: Great local dive shop, much much better than any of the other dive shops within a 25 mile drive. Super helpful, friendly and knowledgeable staff. High quality dive gear, reasonably priced. Excellent quality instruction. Very social as well, with free monthly dive club meetings. Highly recommended for all your diving needs[Updated at the beginning of 2021] I googled In2Deep Diving to get their new address and directions to their new expanded store, and started reading some of the recent reviews. There seem to be a number of different reviews, all recent by people with exactly three reviews, that are less than 5 stars and reference people who don't work at In2Deep, or in one case, a pool location In2Deep doesn't use for confined water training. All I can guess is that some of the other dive shops in the area are trying to lower In2Deep's rating with less than 5 star reviews, because In2Deep is such a great dive shop and everyone is going here instead of other dive shops. I suggest anyone reading the less than 5 star reviews look at web sites for other dive shops in the area, see who their staff names are, and figure out for themselves where everyone is leaving to go to In2Deep![Updated in early 2022] The shop is doing great with lots of classes and local dive boat trips[Updated August 2023] In2Deep is now one of the leading dive shops in terms of number of divers certified this year!

Cali Cam: I visited In2Deep yesterday to order a prescription dive mask. It's been several years since I've been diving, so I went in knowing brand names I wanted to look for, but nothing about "current" gear. Fortunately, dive masks haven't changed all that much!Tara helped out by showing me several masks and being patient while testing them all for a good seal. She spent the time to make me comfortable with the process. After trying on several masks, I actually selected the first one Tara showed me. What a pleasant surprise to see it was not among the more expensive options.Shopping at In2Deep was a very fun experience, as a dive store should be. Thanks Tara ... well done! I'll be back!

Luc Marceau: We recently had several of our scouts participate in scuba certification at Emerald Bay Scout Camp. In2Deep, and their instructor Jake, did a fantastic job with training. They had fun, but there was a great deal of attention focused upon education and safety. We greatly appreciate the dedication of Jake and the rest of the In2Deep diving staff. THANK YOU!

Kay Zee: My perspective is that I like to shop local when I can. Being a musician, former skier and enthusiast bike rider, I have a lot experience going into these specialty shops. Have worked in a plant nursery, high end hi-fi sale and 4 years as a custom ski boot fitter, I have done my time on the other side of the counter as well.I left another shop in frustration when they couldn't or wouldn't help a clueless newbie wade through the overwhelming choices in dive gear. I found in2deep even though it was quite a bit further and let me tell you dear reader, given my experience outlined in the paragraph above, THIS is how it should be done. Helpful and attentive without being pesky. Clearly knew the gear well and without patronization led some cluless but not naive newbies easily to purchases they were comfortable with and a feeling of "THIS is our dive shop."

James Peters: My wife and I are from out of town and wanted to check out the local dive shops. Staff were amazing, knowledgeable, and made us feel very welcome. We even got a tour of the entire shop. If your looking for a place to rent gear, take classes, or book a dive this would be the place to go. Thank your for a great experience !! Jim and Kim PetersPs. Horrible experience at another local dive which can be seen in my reviews.

m ty: What a great team! Helped me solve my unusual situation within my timeframe and parameters. High quality instructors helped get my Open Water Certification completed at beautiful dives in Catalina and Malibu.

Kenneth Skipper-Dotta: were great instructors. Everyone at the shop was wonderful. Would highly recommend.

Marius Weitzel: . Soteris did really go the extra mile all the time in being very focused to give me as a customer a great experience. We did not only have nice dives together, but also had a lot of great conversations. I can only recommend this school

nicholas miller: I work in public safety and was required to get my rescue diver certification and dry suit certification on short notice. I called around to MANY dive shops asking to get my certifications ASAP even pointing out that I understand if they have to charge me more for private classes. Every dive shop I called would not accommodate my time frame. In2Deep bent over backwards to help me. Amazing customer service. Can’t thanks them enough. The vibe in the shop is more of a family then a business, which is great. Highly recommend.

Nathan Hall: Amazing diving and a enjoyable experience!

I was able to schedule with him on short notice, and in the training itself he was knowledgeable, competent, and complimentary throughout, always taking the time to explain things clearly and respond to questions. Go dive with him!

Cindy Lai: and I went from bobbing around like an apple on day one to fully comfortable and really enjoyed my dive well before the end of the course. Highly recommend!

Ryan Gray: Highly recommend taking a class with Steve! Very responsive, easy logistics and a fun experience all around. If you are interested in improving your diving, give him a call about GUE Fundamentals. A great class with a great instructor and you'll get much more enjoyment out of your diving.

Tom Figueroa: I have had the pleasure of taking a few classes with GUE Instructor Steve Millington and the training is top notch! Steve is the consummate professional; very knowledgeable of his craft, and has the great ability of bringing out the best in his students. If your looking top end instruction, give Steve a shout!

Divers West-PADI 5 Star Scuba Dive Center and IDC: what do users think?

Carolyn Patterson: Very helpful, very encouraging, very experienced! Every person in this shop is very welcoming and able to answer any question I have. They are especially knowledgeable about diving in the Channel Islands and Catalina.

Percival Gonzaga: and software - he loves that stuff. He also used to fly planes, ride bikes - pretty much everything - he's done it.Javier, the owner, is such a cool guy too. Tons of fun experience to share and encourages you to join them, too. He likes flight simulator games. hahaWe started off with 2 days of pool diving. We got familiar with our gear, practice basic skills, we even got to play around with the extra air we have left to get comfortable.Same thing was with day 2 - we picked up where we left off and we just had the rest of the time to continue practicing the skills that we could improve on.Day 3 - it was at Veterans Park, Redondo Beach. It was raining too, and it added to the already fun trip. I felt very comfortable with what ive learned in the pool and i was actually pretty excited for our first open water dive. Got to see an octopus. Remember, to walk on your feet until you cant walk anymore and then put your fins on. Dont be afraid of the open water and stay close with your buddy.Day 4 - CATALINA! When you get to Catalina, USE THE TRANSPORT SERVICE - its SUPER WORTH IT. They will pick up and load one bag and transport it to and from the dive site and they will even store it for you until you are ready to leave - it will save your back and it will save your energy. At the dive site, you dont even have to go far to see the beautiful stuff - its right there when you hit the water! Mark even saw a technical diver with the advance gear and had him show us how it works and how its different. I think that person was a technical level diver and he also explained everything very well. WE GOT TO SEE THE BLACK SEA BASS!!! OMG.I cant wait to make new friends and go on more dives. This opens a whole new world of opportunity and adventure for me, and its only going to get better and more fun from here.

Ben Balistreri: Brand spanking new to diving and Just finished getting my Open Water Certification through Divers West! This team is outstanding!!! I can’t just single out 1 instructor. Everyone worked so well as a team to help me not only train safely, but have fun while I did it! Nate, Kait, Aileen, Conrad, Chet, and Javier all took time at some point to give great advice and patiently help an older dog like me learn some new tricks. I loved the experience so much I went back to buy my actual gear from Javier. The level of personal attention and care is the stuff you only see in movies about small local shops and their relation to the community. He and Kait took their time explaining many options of dive equipment and really helped to get me what would work best for me. You can’t put a price on that level of personal attention and Expertise. My dive experience has just begun and it’s off to the best start possible thanks to everyone at Divers West!

Ken Suzuki: I am a licensed scuba diver and rescue. And I know a number of scuba dive stores, but this one is the best. They are very conscientious and friendly.I recommend this store for beginners and experienced divers alike.

Anthony Alva: Great experience. Will shop there again.

steve newquist: Jaime is very knowledgeable and friendly

Christopher Poole: Friendly and knowledgeable dive shop. Very professional.

Jewelry UP: I went here to reactivate my Open Water Diver skills. I like how easy it was to have everything set up. Javier is very organized, friendly and professional. he answered all my questions, helped me with all the papers and guided me through every step. The equipment I rented from him was in great condition, all clean, everything set up and ready to go.And Ethan, the dive instructor, is the best I've ever worked with. He's super fun, knowledgeable and highly professional, and made me feel save and confidant.I highly recommend Divers West for anything from renting equipment to taking the classes! AMAZING PLACE!

Aman Gupta: Very nice people!! Wouldn’t get my certification done anywhere else!

Humberto Villegas: As soon as I opened the door and walked in, I was greeted with such importance. They were able to help me find what I was looking for and even provided me with accessories that will maximize my experience diving. They truly care about my safety and even have courses to learn more on how to dive like a Professional.Definitely going back to them to fill up, and take advantage of their course!!Professional environment!!!

Yennifer Baca: Dive Center is a great spot to shop!I was able to find what I needed with the support of their staff which is very welcoming and helpful.Made my shopping experience great! Can’t wait to try my new gear.

Jon Markowitz: Best dive shop on the planet! Amazing dive trips, instructors, courses to offer, and top of the line gear. And if they don’t have it in stock, they’ll special order it for you. They also have great discounts and promotions going on all the time.Definitely the place to be if you want to become a better diver with all the great courses on offer. And they even do a taco Tuesday event where they bring in rad people from the dive community, give out free tacos, chat with other divers, and learn about all the cool things diving can provide.Get over to Eco!

William Taylor: The amount of information I was able to get off a single phone call saved me from hours of online research. Diving at Catalina island for my open water course really opened my eyes to how great the underwater world is. 10/10 would recommend! Got some sick deals too on my full kit!

Michael Lee (crouchbk): I took my SCUBA refresher with Kendra and the experience reminded me, even with a quick dip into a swimming pool, why I fell in love with diving 20 years ago. Kendra was exacting and professional, but also fun and encouraging - the exact opposite of a punch-clock teacher. Just for fun and a little added challenge, she brought a mini-torpedo painted like a shark for us to toss around.

Nicole Webb Symmons: Jason was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful in assisting in picking out a fitted diving mask. He also gave me great information about diving fins and how to select the best ones. Would highly recommend this dive shop. Thank you guys!

Stephen Hobson: Eco made me love diving. Just awesome down to earth people! Julia Floyd and Rachel Schattle always make my day when I stop in.

Markus Kathrein: Julia gave me very good advice on rental equipment. Also for the purchase of some products! I felt very comfortable and the quality of the parts is also great. Finally a shop that I really like here. Thank you very much

Steve Peters: Love eco dive center. Shoutouts to Julia Floyd, Seagull, Bryan V and W! Probably folks I’m missing. But they know who they are!! Just awesome staff.

Steve McCollum: The best shop in so cal. The best people, classes and gear. To know them is to love them!

Dive N' Surf: what do users think?

Ryan Roth: Dropped in for a Discover Scuba class and had an amazing time. Was nervous to try scuba at first but Scott and Megan were legends and made us all feel super comfortable before moving forward. We learned the basics in their heated pool with included rental gear and had us practice the fundamentals before trying out the deep end. About a 2 hour class and would 11/10 highly recommend for anyone looking to experience breathing underwater

Gregg Towsley: Dive and Surf or also known as Body Glove is one of the coolest stores in the entire South Bay. From surfing to scuba, they have it all with an amazing shopping experience. I've been using them for 10 years and I hope they stick around for a long time.

Casey Sabol: This is where they filmed the gas station scene in Point Break... I think

Christie Anderson: Sunnies and shorts. Check check!
