Samantha Shirazi: Excellent store filled to the brim with books, lamps, couches, art, rugs, etc. Prices are fair for the quality of the items. Nothing is “cheap” but I felt I paid a fair price for the items I purchased. Kass was awesome!
Jewel Lim: Antiques, now if your looking for some antiques this is the place! They have so much nice vintage and classical things its soninteresting too see. The owner is so knowledgeable about the stuff in his store its almost like story telling. I could get lost in here!

I packed up my home in the UK to start a new life in California.After finding a great apartment it was down to the somewhat intimidating but exciting exercise to furnish my new home. I have always enjoyed treasure hunting, restoration and breathing new life into something somebody else no longer cares for. So I set about scouring all the charity stores in LA.I stumbled on Children Charities Resale Store purely by accident. An Aladdin's Cave run by 3 terrific gentlemen , all of whom have a good eye for quality and craftsmanship.Over the past year I made monthly, if not weekly trips to see what I missed the previous visit, and what new things had turned up.Displayed over 2 enormous floors, you can find enough wonderful things to furnish a palace. I told the "gentlemen" if they were going to tempt me with more things they would need to start looking for a new apartment for me.Kass, Pedram and Errol have a real talent for display and you will find things laid out by country, genre, and period with interesting mixes of all of the above. Everything is fairly priced.As I am sure you have concluded I have successfully and satisfactoraliy furnished my new LA home with everything from light fixtures, carpets, furniture, books and object d'art.I have very little space left but can not resist making regular trips to visit my friends at Children Charities to see what recent treasures they have found.If you love treasure hunting like I do Children Charities is a must! ENJOY.

Nikki: Yesterday I was over with my best friend, it was our first time visit and we were really excited . His store was like a maze, lots of rooms inside together full of stuff, most of them antique and valuable pieces. We found several pieces and Rick was amazing. Reasonable price and good manners. We definitely come back every week.
Yvette: If you look and are patient you’ll find something or not at all, me and my boyfriend love going here for fun and end up finding something, I like looking at his jewelry because he has some good taste in very vintage but stylish. Honestly he’s a great host. As to deal with him he’s reasonable and doesn’t feel like he’s scamming anyone of their money. That’s rare for me to say that you can tell based off of their energy and how they work with you. Great thrift and great host this is definitely a spot to come too

In NYC they call them “junk shops”Filled with treasures, plus any household items you might need, cookware, small appliances, kitchen wares, dishes cups etc. plus clothes, think thrift shop.Plus a huge assortment of nicer collectibles in cases, this place it PACKED. I’m sure whatever you’re looking for is there. I wasn’t looking for anything but came out with a vintage pocket knife and metal cased measuring tape for $15 which is a good deal for these nicely made tools.If I had more time I’d go back with a black light and hunt for uranium glass and other treasures.Rick is a character to say the least, it was an absolute pleasure and honor to meet him. I loved his sense of humor and will be stealing all his jokes but I do understand if people don’t get him.This shop is an experience.If you like swap meets and flea markets and yard sales and antiques and thrift shops, welcome to paradise. 150’ of shop depth, multiple rooms.If you are someone who wants to return your $5 Rolex because you realize it’s counterfeit, or the like, give me a break. This shop is not for you. This is clearly an all sales final situation.Enjoy!

Tim Douglas: curated, each corner is filled with gems from somebody's past. So many stories to tell. I was inside for a full ten minutes before the owner approached me, and I spent that ten minutes tiptoeing around. Found myself exactly what my goal for the day was: a beautiful, uniquely shaped mug. Will definitely be back for another afternoon adventure!

Othman Hafdi: This is an LA hidden gem, you can find some very interesting vintage items, from a 1920s 18mm projector, to silver or gold vintage jewelry, there is something for everyone, and the prices are fair for what you get. And do add to it the lady that works there is just lovely, great spirits which are not very common at thrift shops.

Employees were kind and chill and lent a hand when we needed help.Luis, the Owner of the shop helped my family out. We were looking for a hospital bed for my immobile sister and he actually had one. We told him how she became disabled, and how we had been struggling to look for a hospital bed. Luis had sympathy for us and actually offered the bed for free. Initially we denied and tried to compromise for such a resourceful item but he insisted. He told us that if we truly needed it to take it. At that point we didn't hesitate to agree. He willingly put his intent to profit to the side, and for this we could not be any more grateful. Thank you, Luis.

He regaled my friends and I with stories of the many interesting customers he's served, as well as stories behind many of the pieces themselves. A five star experience in every possible way.Most importantly, Nick provides above the bar customer service. I bought a bunch of stuff including a really heavy old dresser. He gave me a good deal on it since it needed fixing up, and when it came time to pick it up, he refused to let me drive in the pouring rain and instead enlisted a colleague to deliver the dresser to me, for much less than I would have spent on a uhaul. This place and Nick are truly iconic and I can't wait to come back for more!!

OMAR A. MUHAMMAD, TH.M: The Society of St. Vincent de Paul claims it is the largest thrift store in Los Angeles, which certainly seems true. Upon entering, it feels like an indoor swap meets market. The store offers a great variety of items for purchase, ranging from washing machines to automobiles and from large house furnishings to kitchenware and small appliances. While I found the prices fair, they were too high for my budget. Nonetheless, there is something at this thrift store for everyone. I plan to return when I have more time and money to explore further.

We were able to purchase 6 chairs at the most amazing prices! Best part is it gave new life to our dining room. It totally rejuvenates our room . Andrew Hawkins: This is an LA secret, great furniture from people that KNOW all of the staff have been there 5-29 years and they’re passionate and nice. Don’t waste your money at the big chains or small outfits where it feels like a rip off - because it is! They have high end stuff 1/4 if the price. You will need to hunt for the bargains though just take a look around, ask for Scott he helped me deck out my entire apartment on a tiny budget and it was game changer. They treated Me as if I was a big spender honestly I wasn’t I saw people spending five times of what I was and they were just the same. Was refreshing
