I would recommend Arbor to anyone looking for a skate or longboard deck, and happily recommend Arbor Venice to anyone who is interested in checking out a board. Their snowboard gear also looks great and is highly regarded, but I have not yet tried it personally.

Erick Ely: they did a great job, and cheaper than doing at REI or otherwise.
Eitan Paster: but on the receipt when I picked the skis up there was an extra $30 charge and the ski had a machine wax done on it, which I was planning on doing myself and not get charged for. I also asked for the skis DIN to be at a minimum of 6, but the person working there refused because their calculator said 5.5, which I understand for insurance reasons, but most other ski shops I have been to would set the DIN ti be custom if I signed a waiver, or if I handled the screwdriver myself.

Matt Eldridge: that the bindings weren't consistent. I brought it back to the shop and they fixed it in ~10 minutes. They were extremely apologetic and gave me a refund that I hadn't even asked for because of the hassle. They clearly care about their customer service. Not sure when I'll need to use them again, but I'll definitely be a repeat customer.
Nathan Tsuji: Incredibly nice and helpful!! I had a bolt come out of the bottom of my clear while on a ride and he gave me a new bolt and checked both my shoes free of charge! Will definitely be coming back here for all my bike needs!
Noah Becker: Jason there is amazing and has worked on our bikes several times, rebuilt an old road racer into a city bike for us for a great price, works on both of our Stumpjumpers, and now helping me with a new wheel set, cassette and derailleur install. Also have had a few pairs of skis mounted here. Everything is done tip top, dialed in and super pro. If you have anything from very simple to terribly complex bike or ski needs, they will have your back.

Sam Ostler: I rolled up with two old road bikes in desperate need for repair in the midst of the pandemic. They were able to tune up both bikes for a very fair price and did it pretty dang fast! Very friendly staff. These folks are working extra hard these days cause of the high demand and are still pumping out repairs and services. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a bike shop that is not filled with egos.

Erin Jilk: for our first ski trip next week and this has given our family a wonderful opportunity to get used to the skill of skiing before getting out on the mountain. The instructors are so friendly, great with both the kids and the adults, and individualize the training for where you are at. You are really getting a private lesson for the full hour. Highly recommend to do before going to the mountain so that you can take more of your time going on the slopes. ⛷️ 🙌
Monika Tarnowski: This was one of the best decisions I’ve made coming here before my first snowboarding experience this past weekend. At first I had some problems of course, but maybe an hour after getting used to getting up on the board, I’ve applied all the techniques I learned here, I was able to go down the bunny twice successfully without falling. I got the carving, stopping down!!! Anyone that wants to try snowboarding, should start here first. My husband is a snowboarder and he said that I made it look easy and that I’m ready for the next level! Again thank you for that wonderful training.

T. H.: I'm a lifelong skier/snowboarder and I took my girlfriend here as a complete newbie. We paid $190 for the 1 hour session. I was VERY impressed with Virtual Snow. The trainer, JD, really knows his stuff. He explains everything in a clear, methodical fashion. JD was professional and hard working. He was ready for our appointment immediately and wasn't pushy at all about upselling future appointments. I actually thought he was the owner with how hard working he is, definitely did not give off the "I'm an hourly employee here and don't care" vibe. To the owners, make sure you keep this guy around.Overall, as someone who has skied/snowboarded my entire life, I think this place is an amazing value. Factoring in the cost of lift tickets, gas, lodging, and lessons, Virtual Ski is an amazing value for a beginner. Typically, your first day on the slopes is just spent falling 95% of the time and isn't very much fun. It was amazing what virtual snow is able to do in a single 1 hour session. For anyone who doesn't have experience, I HIGHLY suggest booking this first, you'll have more fun overall with lower costs. Having taken real ski lessons before, I actually think Virtual Snow is superior to a private ski lesson on the slope. The treadmills really help you methodically learn the sport with 1 on 1 instruction. Of course, the treadmills aren't a perfect 100% representation of the mountain, but it gets you 90% of the way there with 20% of the effort. I plan to bring my girlfriend back for at least another 1 hour session before our trip up to the slopes.

V N: It was my first time at Virtual Snow. Isa and Gokhan were very friendly and caring. Gokhan was my instructor. He took the time to explain but also showed me the fundamentals. I’m a beginner but struggled more on toe side. So it was a bit more tailored. I definitely recommend this place! I’m more technical so it helped getting those technical instructions. Would definitely come back again to better my skills but wish it was closer since I come from OC.

AJ Shull: Great location with free parking. You wouldn't be able to tell from the street but there are Tennis Courts in the back where you can play for fun or get lessons. They also have a 2 story sporting goods store inside with pretty much anything you need. Definitely a hidden gem here in LA/Beverly Hills.

Robert Forward: Eric S. is the man!! I walked in and was blown away by the selcetion, then was approached by a super friendly dude who thoroughly went through all the surf rack options for my car. He walked outside the store and helped me install them. I can't wait to come back!
Geoffrey Walker: The fact that they still do ski rentals is definitely a plus. The hoops they make you jump through to rent suck. I have multiple reservations throughout this ski season. When I called to add another weekend to what I already have reserved, they told me that can only be done in person and only if I make an appointment online beforehand. They are about half an hour or so away from where I live, so it will take 90 minutes or so just to see if they have availability for the weekend that I want to add. They would not connect me to the rental desk to find out. An online appointment and a trip out there is apparently the only way I can even see if a reservation for an additional weekend is available to book. Ridiculous? I think so. However, another plus is that whenever I've gone in, the people that work there were very pleasant and helpful.

Surefoot take the time to make it right and when it comes to boot fitting, their approach is equal parts old school know-how and cutting edge tech. But most importantly, I don’t get rushed out and they make my 119 last fit into the 104 boot I’ve got. Their customer service has won a customer for life.

From the moment I walked into the door at Sure Foot Santa Monica until I walked out the door I felt like I was the most important person in the world. Ian went above and beyond my expectations to help me understand how to select and fit into the right ski boot. Literally he dedicated a couple hours to ensuring that I had the correct boots for my feet and skiing level. And they fit me like a glove. First time I walked in just to check the place out I ended sticking around for an hour just talking to him even though I wasn’t there to buy anything. I went back recently to get some repairs done on my board, and Rafa and Jeff working in the shop are incredible. Not only were they able to complete my repairs right there while I waited, they answered all my questions about snowboard tuning and gave me some advice on how to do some more minor repairs myself. Highly recommend this shop.
