Dr. Stoyanova awarded NCI grant to uncover new ways to treat advanced prostate cancer

Dr. Tanya Stoyanova, associate professor of UCLA Urology, will study new treatment strategies for neuroendocrine prostate cancer, a highly aggressive form of the disease.

AI model could help improve outcomes of prostate cancer focal therapy

Scientists at UCLA, including Dr. Leonard Marks, professor of UCLA Urology, developed an AI model that helps determine how extensive cancer is within the prostate gland.

The findings of the study could lead to new treatment options for people with the disorder. Dr. Brian Shuch, associate professor of UCLA Urology and Director of the Kidney Cancer Program, is a study author.

Dr. Kymora Scotland, assistant professor of UCLA Urology, was awarded a Urology Care Foundation Humanitarian Grant to aid the efforts of urologists and projects providing patient care and education in underserved areas.

Dr. Zeitlin is an internationally recognized specialist in fertility, microsurgery, prostate health, and erectile dysfunction. He’s twice been honored as the Clinical Faculty Member of the Year in the UCLA Department of Urology and received a Master Teacher in Urology Award from the SUNY-Downstate Alumni Association. In addition to teaching, he’s performed NIH-funded research at UCLA for over a decade.

Dr. Zeitlin’s colleagues have selected him to Super Doctors 14years in a row. Los Angeles Magazine named him a “Top Doctor” in 2019. He currently belongs to the American Urologic Association, American Society for Reproductive Medicine, Society for the Study of Male Reproduction, and was previously on the Pacific Coast Reproductive Society’s board of directors.
