We're not really the last bookstore - thank goodness - but we are the largest new and used bookstore in California. Plus, we're the only one that's 22,000 sq. feet with a record store, comic book store, 5 art studios, an epic yarn shop, a famous book tunnel, a mammoth head, and unexpected nooks of funkiness. Also we are in a hundred-year-old bank building, so we have vaults and ghosts.

This very special room - just to the left as you enter - is gated because it has all the fancy stuff: from first editions, collectibles and the extremely rare to expensive art/architecture/photo books. There are also inexpensive, fun things and discounted coffee table books. If you really want to impress your friends, we can also hold private events or parties in here. Our office is located in Los Angeles on West Third Street, between the Beverly Center and Farmer's Market. Though we gave up an open shop after more than thirty years, we welcome serious customers and dealers. Many of our less expensive books are located at home, so you may want to call us ahead of time to insure that the book you want to see will be available. We are normally open from 10 to 6 Monday through Saturday.
