The Playground LA: what do users think?

Matthew Lamb: My fave studio in LA!!

Meosha Meosha: It's a really fun time in the heels class, however the only con is that it's just way too many people it makes it difficult to actually see the teacher most of the time. You would think they would have a video of her or a stage or something that makes learning the dances a little simpler, that's all.

Iago Almeraz: Always a great class! The staff are wonderful, friendly, organized and professional. The studio is always clean and ready for the next class! The POSITIVE energy is RADIANT!

HIROKAZU ITO: Popular classes have long lines. It is also reserved on the app, so I think it is essential to download the app and reserve the class before taking the class.

Jennifer Marinov: My favorite dance studio in Los Angeles. It's such a great community. Parking is very difficult though. You have to park in the residential streets nearby which all have different hours for parking. It does have two bathrooms but no waiting area or place to relax. The room is all you get. Overall, great studio though with fantastic teachers!

Rūts Dance Studio: what do users think?

Sergio Parra: I love it here, the vibes, the teacher the people Great space to dance and enjoy yourself.Ifit doest mayter if you are a total beginner or an advanced dancer there will be a class for u

Amanda: Love this dance studio, awesome vibes! Also for those looking for super beginner friendly classes try Jaysu or grooves w Crystal. Larry’s class is closer to intermediate. Charles can be beginner friendly too just depends on the day. Edit: My only complaint is that they’ve added more int/adv classes so if you’re a beginner your options are more limited.

Yellowjacket Beats: Rūts introduced SO much joy into my life. I'm 28 and had never taken a dance class before, although I always loved watching the videos. I was super nervous to try out a class in person, but immediately those nerves went away on the first class. The atmosphere here is so energetic and supportive; people of all levels of dance come together to learn the same choreo or fundamentals and it feels genuinely social and FUN. I'm beyond happy that I pushed myself to take class, it changed my life. Now I've been coming 4-5 times a week for 3 months and I feel like I am a part of an actual strong community. The people you meet here are so kind and genuine and come from all walks of life. I've made a ton of lifelong friends here and am starting to even feel more confident to try out all the varieties of classes here and the quality of instructors is always top notch! Highly recommend this studio; you will receive high quality instruction and attention in whatever style of dance you're interested in, as well as meet regulars and friends to share the fun and make memories with. Come for the dance, stay for the community

Timothy Na: If you’re looking for a dance community that’s welcoming, encouraging, extremely active, and full of fun, then you’ve found the right place. The dance teachers aren’t only amazingly skilled, but they’re humble, informative, caring, and knowledgeable in their genres. This place just feels like home and it’s a safe haven for many of us. If you’re looking for a new hobby, want to make friends, or want to level up dance skills, you can find them all here. I’ve taken over a hundred classes, and I’m sure I’ll see you in class one day because I’m never leaving haha!

Vicky Johnson: loved the dance class overall but front desk people weren’t very welcoming, didn’t greet me and my friends but greeted others, came off slightly rude

Kris Chen: I was garbage but thiis place has supportive vibes and rly badass instructors and I had fun

Katherine C.: my first ever dance class! Took a class with Anthony and it was a packed class that day but felt supe encouraged and had a lot of fun to just let loose. Highly recommend this studio!

Sena Lee: Went into Rūts just to support my friend’s new hobby, and I found myself bopping along in the back, itching to jump in. The instructor broke down the moves into fun and easy-to-remember steps, and my novice body screamed, “put me in coach, I’m ready”🙋‍♀️. The studio carries an incredibly welcoming environment that puts you at ease to move and express yourself.10/10 recommend.I can’t wait to come back and try the different dance styles!

Rebecca Cardenas: Ruts has incredible instructors! High quality teaching and affordable. I highly recommend!

Laura Mathey: Very cool studio people are so nice !

Groove Zone Hip Hop Classes: what do users think?

J.D. Mamey: This company is the best! I've been attending classes for over a year now. It's a super supportive fun group with no judgement. New dancers are welcomed and encouraged. Yolanda is the coolest and extremely patient. She will teach you to dance and you'll make some great friends along the way.

Senkata Love: and can’t wait to continue dancing with Yolanda and the other instructors of Groove Zone. Super fun and a super supportive atmosphere. Young people and middle-aged people

Donna Morrison: Groove Zone provides a fantastic fun environment and a judgement free zone to just let loose and have fun and work on a new hobby!! Have met great people and the instructors are so nice

Yolanda Music: A rare find of a hip hop class that adult absolute beginners can join and not be traumatized! All instructors are highly experienced and patient. If you are a more experienced dancer there are Performance opportunities like dancing at half time basketball events for WNBA at Crypto Arena!Jump into a free trial class before the 6-8 wk courses and commit to the performance. Its the biggest high ever!

Julian Lorenz: I can not say enough good things about Yolanda and Groove Zone LA. Last year I was new to the area and had browsed around for awhile for a “complete beginner, no experience at all” adult dance class. It seems every dance studio in or around LA is trying to produce the next big *star* lol. I literally just wanted to learn some moves and have fun in a judgment free setting, and Groove Zone was exactly that. I popped into a free trial class and that same night signed up for a 5-week “absolute beginners” course that concluded with a performance night for friends and family! I remember being so nervous each class and especially nervous the night of the performance, but it was such a great way to meet other people wanting to break out of their shell and overtime there really becomes a sense of community. I was enrolled in three “Level 1” beginner courses over the course of 8 months and had so much fun along the way.Unfortunately, changes in circumstances made me unable to continue enrolling in courses, but I definitely could have seen myself being enrolled in courses year-round.These classes really became the highlight of my week in a new town not knowing many people.Takeaway: Yolanda’s classes are great for anyone looking to have some fun, meet new people, learn some moves and blow off some steam after work on a weekday. Highly recommend! 🕺

Jared Massie: Before I found Yolanda and the Groove Zone community, I had very little to no confidence and self-esteem and since completing the beginner's course last fall, the way I look at myself has done a complete 360. Yolanda is such an amazing instructor who has so much patience, dance knowledge, skills and experience and she makes class fun and something to look forward to every week. The Groove Zone community itself is also a very welcoming group of people who are all just looking to have fun, improve the dance skills and I'm so happy I am apart of that community now. You will never feel pressured during a class, you will feel motivated and determined. Yolanda also gets to know each and every one of her students ands makes sure they are comfortable during class and when she says she can teach someone who thinks they can't dance how to actually dance, this is 100% fact, because I was one of those people, and now I'm starting the next round of classes next week and I can't be more excited to see Yolanda and all the other students and push myself harder this time around because I have built up the confidence and self-esteem I need to show up without a worry in the world and just dance!

AUCHI STUDIO (アウチ スタジオ): If you want to start to dance, this is the perfect place for you!!!

Rhea Abonita: As a beginner, I was terrified on my 1st time to join Yolanda's class, but she's a cool dance instructor I am now learning to move my body.😄

Jesse Chapman: and private lessons. Both have been incredible for my confidence and ongoing commitment to just doing fun active things while having an office job. Whether you’re trying to just have more fun or get some choreography into shape—I couldn’t recommend her enough.

marc glikin: Looking to challenge myself and try something new and different I signed up for beginner classes for hip hop. I couldn’t believe how quickly I picked up the moves thanks to Yolanda’s fun and easy approach. Definitely picked up some great pointers along the way to add to my dancing arsenal. She will make you look good on the dance floor guaranteed!

Marek Bowers: and have dreamed of learning to hip hop dance for several years now. But, I always told myself lies like "I'm too old," or "I'm going to look stupid." Then one day, I decided to Google for the most basic of the basic classes in Los Angeles and the skies opened up, shining a light on Yolanda and Groove Zone--the exact class I was meant to take!- Yolanda is like sunshine, a disco ball, your favorite fun aunt, and a badass dancer all rolled into one. She is 100% the best teacher I've ever had--she's patient, observant, humorous, uplifting, and just someone you really want to be around.- Everyone is just starting out! It's so nice to bond with others who really want to have fun and are doing this to learn a new skill. Everyone is so supportive and empathetic.- There is a wonderful lesson that is taught in the background throughout the course and that is "showing up for your team." Because that's what you become--a dance team. We all made a commitment to show up, be on time, and give it our best, so when we fulfill on that commitment, that's when magic really happens. The last thing I want to share is the compliment my 14-year-old son gave me when I showed him my choreography. He said:"You didn't look as silly as I thought you would. It was actually kinda fluid. Like... professional."Coming from a Gen-Z teen, that says A LOT.

Rich Vysion: It was such a pleasure working with Yolanda! She is an expert at coaching artists tap into their fullest potential. I was nervous because I was coached virtually in my house but she reassured me that I was doing wonderfully! I was in my head about the best approaches to perform my new single "End The Stigma" and she gave me so much invaluable feedback that I have in my arsenal now to perform the song to the best of my abilities. Thank you so much!

Alex Cohen: . Cannot recommend enough - do yourself a favor and sign up!

Matthew Williams: Yolanda is incredible. If you feel intimidated by taking on a dance class for the first time this is the place to start! I've taken the level-1 class and I'm excited to start level-2!

Mariana Demirchyan: Yolanda is a wonderful dance instructor. She held several private sessions with my young daughter for hip-hop and helped her learn some fun choreography. She’s inspiring, encouraging, motivating, and super lively. After the sessions, Yolanda coordinated a dance show and my daughter got to perform her solo choreography for an awesomely supportive group of dancers. It was a blast! Thank you Yolanda, for the amazing experience. 💞

Corina Garcia: I had such a blast doing this! I truly feel confident to do this again! Thank you again!!! Such a fun class!!

Moriya Aviv: Have always wanted to take a dance class but had a hard time finding a class geared towards adults that were beginners until now. So happy I found this studio! Yolanda is the absolute best and will get even those with two left feet dancing. Will def be coming back!

Irene Apostolakis: Love Groove Zone and the team! Such a welcoming and supportive community. I’ve always wanted to learn choreography but was self conscious and this was such an encouraging environment to challenge myself. I can go on and on, thank you guys ☺️ So much fun!

Malena Pena: Yolanda at Dance Groove is AMAZING! She gives private dance lessons to my 15 yr old daughter and really helps her fine tune her dance techniques and performance skills. Yolanda is so friendly and knows exactly what is needed in each moment to push you to the next level. Her energy is contagious and she communicates easily and fast. I highly recommend her private lessons or classes!

Trip Rexx: Booked a few performance coaching sessions with Yolanda before a show I had this past Monday, and she was awesome! Not only did she help me a ton with my vocal technique and stage presence/movement, but she’s generally just a real sweet and bubbly person. I really enjoyed my sessions with her and would definitely book with her again, my show went great no doubt my best performance yet!

LA Dancefit Studio: what do users think?

Dwiti Patel: Brooke is a beautiful dancer and teacher! The class is very encouraging and inspiring! Would definitely recommend.

Sarah Gittler (Sarah): Great teachers, great community! Expressive heels class is amazing! A lot of the dancers have experience but they will make you feel welcome regardless your level of experience

Marivampp: Ruby's Kpop dance class is awesome! She's so fun and full of energy, and her teaching style just clicks. Whether you're into Kpop or just love to dance, you'll have a blast in her classes. Definitely recommend giving it a shot!

Ryan Richko: Kpop with Ruby is one of the best classes at LA Dance Fit. It’s fun, challenging, and you get to learn your favorite Kpop choreo. Ruby is also a wonderful instructor with a great personality and some sick dance skills. The community at this facility is incredibly supportive and friendly. Highly recommended!

Dominique Schultz: Ruby is the best! I have had so much fun in her kpop dance class. It is so hard to find studios that teach kpop classes in west LA and hers did not disappoint. The community in the class is so welcoming and I can already see improvement just a few classes in. Highly recommend taking her class!

Nicolette Fernandez: It was a great class! Teacher was fantastic, music was so good, moves were fun & I got a great work out! Highly recommend the Salsa class with Fayad! You won’t be disappointed!

Laura Wasserman Steuer: I did CardioDance with Manu, it was a blast!! Very fast paced and I could not always keep up as a first timer, but I pretty quickly caught on and loved it!!

Diana Geiger: My favorite place in the world! My happy place. Pure joy

Ester Ezra shviki: It's my favorite place in Los Angeles I wish they open one in the valley. We have nothing like that in the valley.

Kate O'Donnell: Took my first class here yesterday and had the best experience! I took hiphop 2 with Kiari - definitely a challenge for me but it was not as intimidating as other studios. Loved the choreography and Kiari made the class really fun. Street parking was easy to find. Can't wait to try out the other classes!

Mrs_ KN: I just love the atmosphere of this studio and I love to take Fayad's class because I consider it to be a fun, moderate cardio and inclusive salsa dance class. This is now part of my weekly self care routine!

Angeles Thomas: DanceFit studio is amazing . I had so much fun and love the classes. ⭐️

Janae D. Green: I absolutely love here! Good enough to make you sweat, but still fun. Would highly recommend. Groove3 on Wednesdays are theeeee best!

Elizaveta700: I really love Wil Wilson's Hip-Hop class! It is soo much fun! So many calories burned enjoying the music, dancing and warm atmosphere of all dancers.

Molly Kron: I took Body Groove class with Nikki and had the absolute time of my life! When I first heard of Body Groove, I wasn’t sure about the style of dance or how difficult it would be. I have taken a lot of dance classes over the years, and this one was the easiest to pick up by far. All the moves that the class does in unison are open to interpretation, and there are no wrong answers! Seriously! If you’re rusty, have two left feet, or you’ve never even danced before, you can joyfully dance your way through this class. AND if you’re an accomplished dancer, you will have a blast expressing yourself and get a great workout.Nikki was a fabulous teacher: hilarious, uplifting, and great at breaking down the moves. She was attentive to the needs of everyone in class, providing thoughtful options for modifications that still felt fully engaged with the dances. As a bonus, she had so many creative interpretations of the motions that it was fun to watch her for inspiration throughout the songs. I don’t know how anybody on earth could have gotten through even a few minutes of this class without a huge smile on their face.It felt like having an energetic dance party with friends on a weekday morning! I had so much fun that I didn’t even notice that I was doing an insane amount of cardio. Go check it out! You will not regret it!

Sara Rutenberg: I took Body Groove which is taught by Nikki Tilmouth. I always feel like an idiot in dance class, but this was no ordinary dance class. Nikki's exuberant enthusiasm, choice of music, and amazing choreography made everything easy to follow, and I had a wonderful time. If you want to have fun, dance, and just feel great about your body, take this class. There are even chairs to use as props, or if you need to do some sitting movement!. It's truly unique and you will enjoy every minute.

Debut Dance District: what do users think?

Michael Louie: was one of the best decisions I ever made. If you're nervous about getting involved, are on the fence about going because you have no dance background, or feel shy because you have no one to go with, no need. Everyone that goes here is incredibly friendly and welcoming - and that's one of the best parts about Debut: the community. Everyone cheers each other on, and you will for sure meet new people and make friends who you can hang with outside of the dance studio. I started making friends on just my second class. And there's very few feelings more rewarding than the camraderie you'll have formed with your fellow classmates after finishing learning a song. They teach every K-pop song you can think of here, balancing all the new hits with popular classics. There are class options that will teach you the entirety of the song

Matt Rondina: Have been coming here for awhile. Great place to start a dance journey. I started with beginner classes and it really helped build and teach me the foundations. I admit, it was a little difficult at first but I learned not to be afraid to ask question. Honestly love this studio!!!! Met so many great and amazing people. Definitely recommend.

Brian Winett: So much fun! Best K Pop dance studio in LA and love the hip hop foundational classes as well!!!

Amy L: Coming to Debut Dance District has been a life changing experience.  I have been a student for over 8 months now and have improved my dancing greatly.  And had a lot of fun learning the entire choreography to some of my favorite songs.Studio details: Located in K-Town and the plaza has its own lot with EV charging ports. Clean, well-lit, spacious, and great flooring.  The studio is very responsive over email.Teachers: The teacher I mainly take is Yireh.  Yireh is incredibly knowledgeable in dance, extremely talented, and will teach you unlike any other dance teacher.  She's tough and can seem very intimidating, but she's very caring, humorous, and invested in her students.  She's very eagle eyed, detailed, effective and efficient with the class time, quick to catch and correct any mistake, expects the students to practice outside of class time, and appreciates when you work hard.  She has high standards, but believes that each student has the capability to meet them.  I always leave class learning something insightful about dance, not only just the choreography.I have taken a few classes with Jo and Charleen and they are great teachers as well.  They are detailed, explain and drill the movements, very friendly, and enjoyable to learn from. Unfortunately, I haven't taken a class with Kim, but my fellow classmates have said wonderful things about Kim and her teaching style as well.Classes:  Unlike most studios, classes at Debut are done in series where at the end of the class series, you will learn the entire choreography of a song and film the choreography as a class.  Since classes are not standalone classes and build upon the prior class, it's highly recommended that you start at the beginning of each series and practice outside of class time.  There are 3 types of class series: Beginners made up of 8 classes, Intensive made up of 6 classes, and Regular made up of 4 classes.  All classes are 1 hour long and beginner series change songs every month while intensive and regular series change songs every two weeks.  Zoom/virtual options are also an option to attend any of the series.Community:  The students here are all friendly, supportive, and encouraging.  I have made some awesome friends here!

Sergio Parra: Great place to learn your favorites K-pop choreos. Instructors are amazing, friendly environment and no judgment. There are beginner, intermediate and advanced classes.I've been loving coming here every week

Izzie Padro: Love the classes!!! Always high intensity and fun!!!

Quinn Lin: This is the best dance place to go to if you want to improve your Kpop dance. The learning speed is intense at first - 8 to 12 eight counts of choreography a day - but it makes you a better and faster dancer if you practice! There is always filming at the end too so you can feel motivated to do your best for Youtube. There are also separate Kpop Cover teams that you can join to further improve your teamwork, outfits, formations, etc. Debut Dance used to be called Dancejoa and it is in a discreet location, hard to find, underneath KTown PC. Sometimes private auditions are offered here, before COVID of course. Entertainment companies know that this studio is very good for training people who are interested in KPop!During COVID19, the sanitary measures are VERY GOOD. They offer online classes and in person classes for different prices. Dances are either 1 day, 4 day, 5 day, or y day classes depending on the difficulty for 1 hour a day. If you choose in perosn classes, doors open 10 minutes before class. You can bring bare necessities only and always wear mask! At the door they take your temperature and give you sanitizer. There are shoe sanitation pads as well. DO NOT ENTER THE STUDIO WITHOUT WIPING FEET ON SANITATION PADS! There is a restroom and you get a few minutes to stretch on your own. Trust the teacher, usually Yireh, to go over the difficult parts a few times for beginners, so do not worry! Have fun and try your best!

chris kim: You teach hard and well.

Rei: The teacher was late for my first lesson. I've been taking a lot of dance lessons, but I felt like the teaching methods were a little sloppy. A community had already been established, and the atmosphere was tough for newcomers.

Ana Gonzalez-Dorta: Best K-Pop studio! Everyone is really nice and helps each other. And the teacher is an incredible dancer that really helps you out when you are struggling. Have been coming here every week since I moved to town!!

3rd Street Dance: what do users think?

Vikki: Smaller than I thought from photos but really nice people. The windows are nice!

Alain H.: I had an awesome and very instructional beginner's salsa boot camp today, led by Gina! Will definitely be attending more classes in the future.

Aseel Nazer: Excellent work excellent staff

Mark Maccora: I have learned so much about how to be a good leader and partner from the excellent teachers at 3rd Street Dance. It has allowed me to be much more confident on the dance floor, and I can apply the lessons to others parts of my life, as well. The community is also great. Thank you for such an inspiring and transformative experience!

Dee Gee: Beginner Dance salsa was a lot of fun! Gina and the other instructor were great teachers, super welcoming, high energy. For partnering that have you form two circles with leads on one side and follows on the other. Very inclusive of folks who want to lead/follow regardless of gender identity.

Robert Gish: Both the , Kizomba class, and teacher, and the salsa class and teachers were excellent

Huyen Bui: took the beginners salsa bootcamp here. amazing class, great teacher. would do again and highly recommend

Francesco Civilini: Great atmosphere and friendly people.

Bryan Sanson: It was great. We were able to social distance in the parking lot everybody had Mask and there was hand sanitizer they also had sheets of wood to dance on. Other than that instructor Leslie is a great person to be around she always has great energy.

Melissa K. Dagodag: We took ten private lessons with Tamas and he was amazing! He choreographed our wedding dance and really made us look like we could dance by about lesson number 7. The last few lessons became enjoyable because we knew the moves so well. And, best of all, our wedding dance went spectacularly well on our big day. I can't say enough about how grateful I am to our patient and skilled teacher!

Santa Monica Hip Hop Dance: what do users think?

Pete Lee: Lisa choreographed our first dance, and it was a hit! She was fun, and laid back. Her energy is unparalleled. She customized our dance to our levels and abilities. My wife and I are so happy that we chose Lisa Kellogg.

N Marino: I randomly selected Lisa’s class based on some Yelp reviews as I wanted a dance class to take my young 16 year old cousin. The hip hop class was a blast and Lisa is boundless energy in a petite package! We had so much fun and Lisa made it easy to follow along and her musical selections were awesome! We are definitely coming back and the class is perfect for young and old alike and anyone who loves dance and good music. What a great workout and fun Sunday!

Tricia Stewart Shiu: Lisa is a bright ray of light! Her classes are awesome!

Alex Kernus: Lisa was excellent! We had a great 2.5-minute wedding dance down in three sessions with her. Very fun and easy to work with, highly recommend.

Deidra Kathleen: Lisa is a very supportive teacher. She has no problem breaking things down for you or going over anything as much as ya need. And, most importantly — lots of fun!

Jessie Inchauspe: I was in LA for a trip and wanted to go to a dance class.... I had the best time in Lisa’s classes AND ended up participating in a flash mob she was organizing!! I mean. It was awesome. Thank you Lisa for the sunshine and great music !!! Lots of love!

Ilana Frid-Madden: Amazing classes! I’ve been going to her dance classes for years and I love her so much. The dance routines are fun, unique and the perfect level for anyone. Lisa is a great teacher and makes her classes super engaging, and will slow down or repeat anything if she sees someone struggling. Definitely reccomend!

Jennifer Smith: Hip hop dance classes with Lisa are so fun! Lisa is an amazing teacher who always caters to the skill level of the class-takers. I have very little experience with dance of any kind, but I always feel comfortable in class, because all levels are welcome. Also, dance classes are outside now, so it’s a Covid-safe activity!

Jeff A. McGee: I've been taking Lisa's classes for a few months now. The classes are beginner-friendly and a great aerobic workout.

Francine Christopher: Lisa is a wonderful, fun-loving dance instructor! Very inviting, pushes students to be as creative as possible! ❤❤❤

xyz xyz: Wow, what a rush! I was struggling with losing the pounds I gained over Covid and was looking for a fun dance class to get started on my weight loss journey. In a matter of weeks, I lost the weight, and pounds are still melting off. Lisa is such a dynamic, beacon of good vibes and joy! Her hip hop classes are good for beginners and experienced dancers, she breaks all the moves down, while keeping the pace of the class going and engaging for all levels of dancers. The music is well curated, lots of 90’s hip hop. The choreography is inspired, and very creative and fresh. Lisa’s routines switch up weekly and you can tell that Lisa puts her heart and soul in creating a wonderfully varied and original class. With Lisa’s patience and loving support, I’ve became a much better dancer and can highly recommend taking class with Lisa. You will leave class with a smile on your face, joy in your heart, feel accomplished and hang with some of the nicest people. Lisa is one of a kind!

Jessica Koslow: I’ve been taking Lisa’s class for 12 years. I love it! Even when I took a break to have a baby, I came rushing back. I love the music Lisa plays – a mix of old and new school hip-hop. Her attitude is inspiring, funny and enthusiastic. And her choreography is fun, and not too hard or too easy. It’s just right, with a mix of old and new school moves – and repeated and new choreography.

Katy Schlesinger: and the music is great! The people who take the class also have positive energy. I always leave the class with a smile on my face! Highly recommend!!

Jill D: !

Victor Liu: by helping us each improve our dancing. One of the things I cherish most is how she makes sure each of our kids feels comfortable dancing. There is no pressure and no judgment. Lisa is a master at finding a way to teach that feels fun and playful. We feel so lucky to have found such a skilled practitioner and teacher.

Elli Kantanen: Her dance classes are the BEST. I love the energy in her classes, so welcoming and genuine. Also the choreography changes frequently and I keep learning new things ever class. I take her classes 2-3 times a week and so should you!

Bela B: Lisa is the best hip-hop dance teacher I’ve ever had! She plays awesome music and has so much energy. It is such a great work out but also so much fun to be in her class! Her choreography is for all levels as she breaks it down, making sure everyone understands what she’s teaching. Her classes are for the body but also the mind and the soul in the heart as well. Afterwords you come out feeling transformed! Cannot say enough good stuff about Lisa!

Ryen Taylor: , they made them wear silly outfits that focus on fetishizing your appearance, which is unhealthy at that age. Lisa is a genius. She has the kids dancing, having FUN, learning moves, for an HOUR. The kids “learn”/are encouraged to FREESTYLE!! I was a competitive dancer for 15 years—yet too insecure to ever just dance, because creativity was never encouraged. I lacked confidence because I only knew how to learn a specific move and perfect it. Lisa’s way of teaching will give kids the confidence not just in class, and on the dance floor, but also in social settings and eventually, professionally. I’m very passionate about having my daughter build self confidence, not just first position. In no way am I disparaging the other schools but honestly, to have a well rounded kid, I encourage you to join Lisa’s class, even if you are already at another school. Her technique and vibe with the kids is truly priceless. My daughter goes to Piper, and was always the wallflower. Lisa let me dance with her but after three classes, she’s busting a move all in her own. I’m forever grateful.

Sophia B: also enjoyed seeing Miss Debbie Allen pay attention to the kids and caring. In four days she has learned so much more in Ballet. 🙏Maybe she can someday audition for the Red Bird. But first she'd have to be part of the Academy.

Fahmee Hakeem: Great place to learn how to work with others & learn creative skills ✍🏿

CooperMorgan Dance: Love

Marcia Grinnard-Davis: The academy tour was phenomenal. My mom, 2 sisters and cousin, Alicia, were just visiting some place new where we've never been and don't have family. We lucked up upon this gem through a tourist guidebook of Los Angeles and we were not disappointed.I saw the Debbie Allen Dance Academy in the guide and I was so excited. I've always admired her beauty, skill, commitment and talent. I told my family about it and they were all in.I called to get information about a tour and was bowled over to learn that a tour was available the very next day and there was no charge. The tours are booked upon availability and there is NEVER A CHARGE.I spoke with Ms. Sonya Morgan Charles, whom set up the tour. She was very energetic, enthusiastic and proud of and about the Academy. The building itself was full of African-American Art, portraits and pieces that expressed our culture, heritage, talent, beauty and pride.Imagine our delight and surprise when Mr. Norm Nixon, co-owner and spouse of, Ms. Debbie Allen, greeted us and became part of our tour. Needless to say, we were speechless and excitedly surprised. Mr. Nixon, was friendly, personable and approachable. My sister, Cynthia, was beside herself. As I mentioned earlier, we traveled with our mother, whom is 90 years old and Mr. Nixon, engaged her and made her feel relevant when he asked her about her birthplace and he shared hisand the commonality that children of the South share.I could go on and on but I want the pics I took speak for themselves. As a side note, we were secretly hoping Ms. Allen would pop in and we were told that she had planned on stopping by but, alas, we were not honored with her presence before we had to leave. If you are ever in the Los Angeles area, specifically, Culver City, you must make time to honor and appreciate the dedication, love and commitment that Ms. Allen, Mr. Nixon, staff, children and parents have given to further the Arts in our children and our community.

Alcilene Ribeiro De Souza: I loved it.. I highly recommend it.. a 1000 actress and a dancer.. wow

Nate Woodward: It was a great experience. I was amazed. I recommend parents who have children with dreams of becoming professional dancers to expose them to DADA to hone there skills and spring board their careers in dance...

C.L Towns: I have None...BUT I LOVE DEBBIE..NORM...N PHYLICIA!!!! NUFF SAID!!! Plus...I KNOW With Every MILLIMETER Of My Heart...Debbie Studio Is Soooo ILL!!! I know her peeps Love It!!!..my name is Craig!! That's Lil Sis Pictured!!!!

choosen2 preach: I don't go to your school but I heard about what you do and I think its awesome you would open a school of our minority. It's a blessing that you can see in us people of all races that we have a gift within ourselves and people can start looking at us people of color as an inspiration not someone who looks at us and then rejects us. many see us but you see us in a different spectrum and say wow she or he is worth much more than they think which is so inspiring. Thank you for being a tool of color and believing in yourself. Debble Allen you are so humble you took rejection and turned it into positivity. Like I tell others do what you love and love what you do. God bless you and your school. By what you are doing your breaking ther Barrier and your touching millions. I do have a disability and when people talk I always say I'm worth more that what you see, God didn't make a mistake. I want to encourage you to be the best. Debbie Allen if you read this thank you so much. Many doors will open for me one day I'm waiting by faith.

SanJuan Soliece: First time there, the staff, parents, and all the kids are very respectful. Good job Debbie Allen!!

Evolve Pole & Dance Studio: what do users think?

simbi hall: Evolve is a beautiful space run by a lovely team. I feel relaxed and rejuvenated!

Catherine Chang: I am beyond thrilled I came across this gem in the heart of mid-city. I have frequented over 30+ saunas across the country and I will say this is hands down MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE sauna/studio of all time. The first time I booked, I was greeted by Lani. She welcomed me into the studio on a first name basis and made me feel so welcome. The studio itself is a vibe! It's super clean with the ambiance and lighting being a mood. They offer you a cold towel every time and ask whether you would like it with essential oils. Their pricing is very affordable with different package options or a single session. I feel so welcome every time I stop in as if I'm in a warm, nourishing community space. My first session was a week ago and I've already been back 3x. This is my new go to studio! Thank you Evolve Sanctuary for curating such a beautiful space!

Venus Andaya: I absolutely love it here! I’m still a beginner in pole and the instructors are so supportive and patient. They create SUCH A VIBE and a safe space to learn. The other pole girlies that come are also so helpful and friendly. And I love that as a collective for all of us, we hype each other up and congratulate each other.Community here is the most important to me. I have definitely been building my confidence and I’m ready to see how amazing my progress will be! Shout out to ya’ll!

Trish Craig: Love this place!! The saunas are incredible after a class. It’s so private and relaxing and all the staff is so welcoming and encouraging. Highly recommend!!

Julia Negroni: Evolve dance studio is the real deal! By far the best pole classes I’ve ever taken. Many places focus too much on conditioning, without much time for practice. Here was 90% practice, and the conditioning just happens from trying the moves over and over. I felt so accomplished that I could achieve more than I thought I ever could! The photo was taken just in my second class. Can’t wait to work my way up and unleash my inner goddess. ✨But not only are the instructors amazing, the service I received from Maddy over text has been top notch. She follows up, and even booked me a class when it was 9pm at night; not to mention, went out of her way to recommend treatments for my kinked neck.Lastly, as a tall girl, I appreciate the spacing between the poles. Lots of room to do your thing and not clash with others! If you’ve been thinking about trying pole, just do it here and look no further.

Lindsey K.: Had a marvelous, nourishing, and healing experience at Evolve’s Sanctuary and Infrared Sauna. Felt completely refreshed and rejuvenated after sitting in the sauna with friends. Lani was such a warm, welcoming and gracious host. It was a perfect birthday treat topped with the most delicious Gratitude essential oil. Thank you, Lani!

Tia: Super fun classes, customer service was amazing and I recommend the saunas!!

Reena Evans: Very nice and welcoming. Smells nice and clean! Love the tv screens with YouTube to watch. Brand new looking individual sauna rooms.

Diandra PT: The facility is so calm and clean. The owner makes you feel very welcome and the sauna is easy to use. I was able to customize the temperature and relax with their Bluetooth speakers to a program I chose to watch on their TV. The lavender cool towel was the perfect way to reset once my session ended. I will definitely be back!

Robin Zelko: . There’s room to stretch in the private sauna space. The owner offers you a cold, lavender towel as well as water if you need. She also provides you with towels. The space is minimalist and perfect for when you need to be in a low stimulation environment.

M C (Xixi): . My special requests and accommodations for classes and sauna have been met graciously every time. The studio and sauna are always super clean and smell inexplicably great. Support this business!!!

ROBIN VISO: It feels like being back home. I came here years ago but had to stop due to an injury. I've been back for about a month and it continues to be a friendly and supportive community.

mia quintero: Amazing experience. Booking next session asap!

Vanessa Benton: I had an amazing experience. This will be my Sunday routine. I came in sore from my work outs and left feeling refreshed and healed. Highly highly recommend!!

Pretty Pwincess: I wanna do this I’m 18 and chubby I seen some videos of chubby bigger girls doing dancing in this studio and I wanted to try out! I weight 214 pounds, and I’m eighteen , I seen on google the pole can hold about 500+ lbs. so I wanna try out, when are the tryouts and what are recommended to bring here as a beginner?

marcel Farmer: Great experience in the sauna very relaxing. I was sceptical at first about the infrared aspect,as I've never done it before. But with me being a trainer and working out I felt great was able to stretch and it actually helped in certain aches I had been. Overall great experience...

Carlos Suarez: definitely check out this space! the classes are a always a vibe. make sure to also check out BIRDIE! they teach on Tuesdays. such beautiful human.

Creation Station Dance: what do users think?

John Calles: Taking my daughter here. The teachers are very friendly and great with kids. Amber stood out to me. Great with my shy kid, definitely recommend her

Tyler Mounce: This place, and more specifically Miss Colette, is an amazing dance class for our daughter!!Miss Colette is patient and encouraging, after a couple months our 2 year old actually learning a lot!!Definitely would recommend Miss Colette’s class!

Gladys Morales: My daughter loves going to dance class and looks forward to it every week! She started at 18 months with the Tots and tutus class which was a great and fun first class. We took a small break due to my schedule but she's back now and having a lot of fun! She LOVES her teacher Miss Amber who is very patient and sweet!

Mercedes B: So far my daughter loves it❤️ today she did hip hop and Ballet and when we left she was crying to do more my 31/2 year old has a lot of energy, so happy one of the nanny at the park gave me the information and it’s only 15 mins away from where I stay. They sell everything you need for the girls no food though so make sure to bring water I like this place so clean and peaceful.

Sara Hernandez: It was fun both of my kids liked the class and teacher 👌🙂

perla ramirez: My daughter loves so far

Stephanie Andrews: Took my 3 year old daughter to a trial lesson today and it went amazing! My daughter is hesitant sometimes when it comes to trying new things, but the environment was super welcoming and the staff was really nice! She went right in with the lesson and enjoyed every minute of class. We can’t wait to go back when the new session starts!

Jessica Woods: My daughter had been taking dance classes here for over 2 years. She started with Ms. Amber who is absolutely lovely and the most patient and kind teacher with the little ones. We’ve met a lot of the teachers and all are amazing with the kids. Ms. Kat at the desk is always ready with a smile and up for a chat. Very accommodating. We’ve formed a nice group of friends in the class and the overall atmosphere is very relaxed and welcoming to all the siblings and families that come. I was surprised at how much my daughter learned; dance vocabulary and moves from the ages of 2-4. I would definitely recommend taking a free trial class here if you are considering it for your child.

Marta Murillo: Nice

Brian Sowell: My daughter loves her ballet class. Miss Stephanie is great with kids, brings amazing energy and fantastic dance skills. I was so impressed that she was able to get a class of 6-9 year olds to do the recital dance routine without someone guiding them in front of the stage. Wonderful studio.

Rachel Blumberg: We came here after my daughter told me she loved dancing but didn't want to keep going to class because it wasn't fun anymore. So many dance schools are strict and competitive but at creation station fun comes first!

Michelle Nadolski: . Everything from warm up to learning the routines, usage of props and proper terms of each dance move is reviewed. Our little girl comes home and demonstrates her arabesque, her chasse, her step and turn - she's definitely found something she enjoys! We've also been impressed with the gentle discipline and re-direction of the dancers who aren't following along or creating a distraction. Teachers deal with it quickly with appropriate amounts of grace and consequence all at once. The atmosphere remains fun, while the focus is still on learning on how to dance!

STEEZY Studio - Online Dance Classes: what do users think?

lambele: The classes are great! The instructors break down/explain the movements very clearly and there are so many classes/programs on their website. The website provides really helpful functionalities like looping any part of the video, speed up or down the video and view the video from the front or the back. I've been to in person studios before and I like steezy better because of the convenience, privacy, self-controlled pacing and the variety of classes.

Emily Yaeger: Just brilliant. Amazing dancers, choreography, just wow. So nice to be able to take classes during the pandemic too. Fantastic guys.

Bigg Britt: Update : So I left a bad review on STEEZY studios 6 days ago. I’m re writing my review because I didn’t make sure all my ducks were in a row before I went on a rampage. STEEZY actually contacted me and responded with a 3 month free credit and my account hasn’t been canceled I just been using the wrong email address. I apologize for the misunderstanding and hopes STEEZY can work out all their other kinks because it’s a good app.

Christina Grace: I'm 41. My WHOLE LIFE I've wanted to dance but due to where i live and other busy stuff i havent been able to. But this is AMAZING!! I can go at my own pace, choose what style i want to learn, what level I'm at, length of classes, etc. It's really an endless supply of choices. And it makes me feel super cool. I AM way cool but now even more so! LOL. Also its a great workout without being a lame workout video. I'm just thrilled and the price is ridiculously affordable and so worth it. Thank you Steezy for allowing me cross something iff my bucket list.

Paul Szymanski: This is not a physical dance studio you can attend, but an extensive digital platform for learning dance. Has online classes for every skill level.

SFK Academy of Dance: what do users think?

Laura Federico: SFK has been such an amazing experience for my family! Every week my daughter can’t wait for ballet with ‘teacher Erica ‘… and honestly, I can’t either! Swim classes have been fantastic as well! We’ve had the pleasure over the years of experiencing small group classes, the core class and individual lessons! The instructors have been AWESOME and have gotten both our toddlers swimming and loving the water! Summer camp has also been a truly great experience. The daily activities, trips to the beach and field trips are so much fun for the kids! And I am able to relax knowing what great hands they are in! SFK- we are so grateful to be a part of your community!

Alexis Martin: My two daughters ages 3 and 5 take ballet and tap at So Fly. They both absolutely love it and love their teachers. The dance recital at the end of the year was fantastic!

Leigh Fleet: We love SFK for dance! The teachers are top notch and super welcoming. It’s a balanced studio that offers everything: starting with classes for little tots and then a great range for older kiddos … classes for those who just want to dance for fun to those who want competition. And the dance showcases at the end of the year is so fun and professional.

wanda dragomirescu: We have really enjoyed our time here. Have found the staff to be responsive and kind. All of the kids always seem like they are having a great time, which is really what matters in the end.

Kris Tina: Great place and personally I love Ericka’s classes and her energy, she makes me want to dance myself.

Yesi Rob: We are loving the quarantine classes, we joined for the online version only and at the beginning they changed us a registration fee, but right after they refunded that fee. Great costumer service and we love the teachers!

Yesenia Rivera: Great experience all the way from Connecticut! We joined the virtual classes and my 4yrs old loves them. All the teachers are amazing, specially Ms. Michelle! ❤️

Rob Robinson: Beautiful studio with amazing instructors!

Paola Womac: . SFK is phenomenal!

Marshall LeMoine: Just wanted to give SFK dance a quick thank you. My two daughters had such a great time today at their new hip-hop class. All they wanted to do for the rest of the night was show us their "new moves". They loved dancing together and all the energy from the class. They are still beaming hours later. It was awesome . Thank you! See you guys next week.
