Pet Pride Cat Shelter: what do users think?

Gelynn: A lot of 1 star reviews act angry because you have to pay a fee during in-takes. They're a private rescue who can't cover all the vet or health related costs themselves. If you think up to $2,500 is expensive, imagine taking in several cats. Most other rescues who cover that cost are full. I have seen several high quality rescues either charge roughly this amount for take-ins. Those will do a 2 week quarantine for vet visits before intriducing to the whole cat group. I implore readers to do their research before hunting for a pet or for a rescue to drop off a stray.

Lydia Fernandez: If you need an animal fix, come by! There are tons of friendly cats here that would love the attention! Parking is on the street around the corner.

Ashley Mendoza: Excelleng

Craig McCain: A great place to get your next cat and/or kitty.

Bernadette Bockis: will greet you.Leonard is the quiet King. He is soooo lovely!Go down and swing around a toy-bird-on-a-string. You'll have the cats' attention!See if you can figure out which 4 cats we consider to be"The Tabby-Tastics!"

Marian W: Friendly cats and staff! A sweet spot with lovely cats who need owners.

Adriana Velasquez: Wonderful human beings! They gave me hope when I was about to lose faith in humans and helped me and Francis the cat in a way I wasn't expecting. Forever grateful.

Cindy Zhou: This is a great place to adopt a cat. I got my sweet kitty here 3 years ago. Now he’s living the best life with me. Don’t hesitate to go there. Pic is a recent photo of my cat.

Neter Afro Jewelry: Been coming here on and off for years to volunteer. Just loveee all the cats. PURE CAT HEAVEN!

Rosa Vazquez: I love going to the cat shelter for stress relief.

Kira Haynie: We came here to look for a cat last March and left with our sweet boy who we renamed Pounce! We love him more than life and he is the same age as the other cat. I love the open, cageless concept of this shelter. The cats looked very happy and the more antisocial ones had plenty of space to themselves. We told one of the employees what we were looking for and found Pounce hiding in a cat tree, the employee was able to tell us about his personality. I was surprised such a sweet, special cat had been there for 5 years! When we decided we wanted to adopt, we had to spend 30 minutes playing with Pounce to make sure he was a proper fit. He brings so much joy to our lives and I am so happy we went to Pet Pride. If anyone plans to visit, call ahead and ask if they need any donations! It’s good to give back to these amazing cats and people!

Melissa Crandall: A wonderful place for cats who need it, and for volunteers who need "cat therapy"!

Traci Campbell: These people work very hard to give the cats the best possible shelter life they can. Ideally all cats would be in a loving home, but for those that aren't, places like these are a God send and sadly there's not enough of them.As for the intake prices I don't blame them a bit. Certain colors ans ages are hard to rehome unfortunately. And, It can cost hundreds if not thousands to medically care for one cat in its lifetime. Not to mention food, litter etc. That's the very reason so-called owners abandon them or leave them in the street. The cost and sacrifice many aren't willing to make--especially after the kitten becomes an older cat. It's a commitment that should be taken seriously. For the life of the pet. Not just when it's convenient. These organizations do the best they can. They don't get enough credit, glory or help and are taken for granted by the very people that seek to dump their cats on them.
