Amoeba Music: what do users think?

Myriam CHASSEUR: the temple of music“Interesting Clerance”We went there twice and couldn't watch everything.

Jass: This store has everything, it is large, it has vinyl, CDs, movies, posters, books, polo shirts, turntable tips, record cleaning tips, some funkos, among others. On vinyl records it has a large amount of rock music, it is very well organized and the prices are good. There is WIFI. You can find vinyl prices up to $7 and movies from $4 or more. My husband found 9 albums he was looking for in about an hour. We didn't have much time to go to record stores but if you only choose one, go to this one.

K. Jorae: Love to visit here every time I come to L.A.

Jeanette ponce: My son loves this place ! He has been able to find the music he loves and posters! Staff is always super friendly they wrapped everything so nicely for traveling since we come out of town 😀

Emilio Murphy: Great customer service and awesome selection of hardcore/hardcore punk.Visiting from overseas meant I found variants and released I’d have to import so I stocked up.They gave me great advice how to send the records home to Australia and even directions to the post office! Can’t wait to visit again

Michael Hogan: What a great store with amazing staff. They have almost every album you can think of and a few you can't. Fun place to browse and wander.

Joe Petty: I make a pilgrimage here annually because it's so far from my home. The new location isn't quite as charming or well sourced as the old one, but I love it just the same.

Record Surplus: what do users think?

Steffanie Cohen: So glad I went in here today! Staff was great, especially Chris, who sorted through a couple of big boxes of albums I brought in to sell. I feel like I got paid a fair price and he was nice enough to help me carry them from my car. Highly recommend if you’re looking to sell vinyl!

evan: Friendly attentive staff and a great mix of records and genres.

Gabriel Craft: Excellent independent record store est. 1985Undoubtedly, many of your favorite musicians have visited this place. In particular, Records Surplus is a must visit location for any hardcore weezer fan.🤘🤓🤘=w=Rivers Cuomo: For “In the Garage,” I definitely had the Beach Boys and “In My Room” in mind. At one point while I was writing, I wanted some new inspiration, so I went to Record Surplus on Santa Monica and went through all these classic LPs. I narrowed it down to “Led Zeppelin II” and the Beach Boys’ “Pet Sounds,” but I only had enough money for one. It was basically a coin toss, and I walked out with “Pet Sounds.” Then I went on a deep dive and got all their other albums. It’s funny that Weezer could’ve gone in a totally different direction.— Los Angeles TimesMikael WoodMarch 25th 2024

NRC “NOTHING REALLY COMPARES” 78: Nothing Really Compares to record surplus

Michael: Top spot for new releases

Tom Tobin: This store has some unique and rare music and collectibles. Decent prices and big selection.

Jack Loh: Very nice selection of new and used vinyls, CDs and assorted vintage audio goods.

victor osaka: Thousands of albums

Jocelyn Wang: Staff is nice and this place has incredible selections of records! I attempted to shop for classical music today and I walked out with 2 vinyls and 2 CDs for $11 which was a decent haul. They offer genres of all kinds for vinyls at good prices. I don’t think anything saw was usually over 30 something bucks. Definitely in demand commercial or popular collectibles were around that price range. But this is a nice place to get affordable records! They also offer a bin/attic area where u can browse for so many records for a $1. I got myself a DuPre CD and a Yehudi CD there!

Jorge Moraga-Bernier: Huge collection of music. Def worth a visit!

Ria Antony: Such a good collection. Good to have a record store nearby. The records are clean and taken care of and the staff is also helpful.

Len White: Very OG. Makes me wanna finally get a turntable. Great peeps.

Carlo Cocirio: Good record store where you can also find some rarities

Josh O'Brien: This store has a lot of great vinyl. Plus it's cool that it's labeled new or as is, etc. That is pretty awesome because the staff is not really that personable at all.

Going Underground Records: what do users think?

Adam Mayes: Фантастический магазин! Отличный выбор и хорошее использование там.

Glenn Basgaard: Отличный выбор и акции!

Masslab .net: Очень хорошие цены...

Danny S: Incredible store! Great vibe and prices

Rimas Veselis: Can’t express how knowledgeable and helpful Going Underground Records are. I was helped by Adam and Henry - they helped me find the perfect graduation present for my niece. Would recommend to any vinyls fan!

Scott Peterson: I found the majority of records on my list and the prices weren't breaking the wallet

lekilimark: They don't have a parking lot and you have to pay to park there, or park at Little Tokyo market and get an hour validation in the market if you buy something. So we walked a block and a half to the record store. It was wheelchair assessable, but you would have to stand-up to look at the records, which I did in short increments. The place is pretty small and has mostly new records that are re-issued from old records. They had a pretty good punk selection and the records are around $30 for the re-issued LPs. They were interspersed with some used records and I bought a used Trio record for $6. My husband couldn't find anything. They had a big selection of 7" 45's.

Matthew Douglas: Interesting selection. Small but varied.

Jon Dobrowolski: are bringing in also deserves recognition. Hardcore/Death/Black/Goth/Avant Garde/etc is all top quality and cutting edge.Very friendly staff who respect everyone who walks in.

Edward Chvn.: Cool, small little record store near Korea Town. They have Punk, Metal, & Rock vinyls and other various genres. Plus, they have cool used records. You should check it out at least once if you're in the area

As The Record Turns: what do users think?

Stephen Cowan: Great selection of all original vinyl. The folks in the shop couldn't be nicer.

Tiff301 S: Excellent store! The owner was wonderful to talk to! Very smart and knowledgeable! A lot of rare amazing records inside! I recommend this store to anyone who really loves music.

Jacob Beck: Talk to Kevin, he's awesome!!

pedro salinas: Amazing

Jackson Arold: This is my favorite record shop in Los Angeles! They always have a great collection and they have the best prices in town!

Eric Chemouny: Amazing experience at As the records turns ! I would have loved to spend hours talking with Kevin the boss. He knows a lot of musicians, propose a huge choice and could guide you through rare records. I bought a few Soul and Jazz gems! For sure now one of my preferred Vinyls store in LA! A great place to visit.

J D: Kevin is the record king!! This guy knows EVERYTHING!! Thanks for always being so welcoming each time!!!

Carlos A Nevarez: This place is a hidden gem. Met the owner, Rick, who is a knowledgeable authority on rare LPs and a fountain of knowledge. There are great finds here and will be back.

Trish canas: Small, but it was a nice and friendly place

Steve Thornton: What a great little place tucked down a cute little side street. You won't find Tone Poets or other reissues here; what you will find is loads of original releases from the past 60 years or more. You will see other reviews complaining about the prices, but if you know what they are, it's extremely fair. If you're looking for Jazz or R&B, the selection is tremendous - you will not find a better selection in LA. I didn't look at the rock stuff, but I'm sure it's as good.Another thing you won't find anywhere else is the endless stream of fascinating stories from the owner, who knows everyone in the music world, and sells records to them too. Everybody from Quincy Jones to James Brown to Bud Shank to Muhammad Ali - and he has the photos to prove it!I left with an armload of rare jazz and a big smile on my face.

Ricardo Ignacio Kennedy: The best place to find records

rudy de la o: Best spot for classic old school records. Kevin and his wife are both wonderful loving and welcoming. Kevin never disappoints with the amount of knowledge he has from his life experience and love for music. Just as well as his wife. Check it out. You won’t be disappointed.

Bryan Melcher: I called to find a specific record. They tracked it down and graded the record on the phone! Super great service and kind people all around.

Cesar Palet: A store trapped in time!!! A wide variety of vintage vinyl. Duels are super nice

D S: Great store for originals lovers

Nick Keutzer: This place is a pretty amazing hidden gem off Hollywood Blvd. A little pricey. But very well curated and well kept. You can tell this record store has been around for a long time. Great selection. Doubt it’s possible to leave without something you’d love.

Allison M: A wonderful record store. All original vinyl. Check it out! Dope.

Lishi Huang: Always the most grounded and welcoming place. Their records are always amazing too, just be sure to come Saturday when they drop their new selection - the popular records usually go quick! Their taste is immaculate if you want to pick up some sage music advice from the two shop owners Stan and Ray. Usually the only two that hold down the shop. Stay for the conversation and vibes. Leave with new music and better headspace.
