You and your best friend are not just a number in my classes. This is personable, Certified dog training and you can expect nothing but the best kind of training around. Science-based techniques and learning one step at a time. The Lead Trainer, Adelita Alvarez, will help you, answer your questions and you will know that you have made great progress every lesson you take.


The dog classes include twelve, 30 minute obedience lessons, attending Saturdays and Sundays, and it includes socialization as well as Basic Obedience. The final two lessons are combined and we have our lesson as well as a celebratory potluck, games, prizes and certifications. After working together and making new friends it really makes for a wonderful way to complete the program. Most classes begin on the first weekend of every month.


Most dogs and puppies have short attention spans. After years of providing one hour lessons, Adelita Alvarez, owner and Dog Trainer for Good Dog K9 Training and Services, LLC found that by minute 40 of the one hour lessons, both the dogs and the humans were worn out and ready to end the class. They were bored, unable to continue and the class ended on a sour note.

We did the Canis takeover program with our 7 month old puppy. He struggled with crate training, having an off switch, pulling on walks, jumping/biting at our hands, barking, and wasn't socialized when he was young because we lived in an apartment. He had dog friends/play groups for the first time and we learned he was very social! He's been home for a few days now and he is doing amazing! We've never been able to have him on a mat in down for extended periods of time while we move in and out of the room and now he does it pretty easily. We also know how to communicate with him now while before we had no idea. Jennifer did absolutely amazing and we learned so much from their weekly training sessions as well. We are so grateful for Canis!!

I bought a new puppy shortly after my precious 13 year old dog passed trying to heal—not realizing what attention the puppy would need. 13 years ago I had time to devote to training, today not so much. After 6 months of battling with the decision of having to leave her in a strange home for 5-6 weeks, but also being dragged on walks and being pinned against walls— the decision finally wore on me AND it was the BEST DECISION I made for the BOTH of us. While in training, I would get messages and receive pictures and updates on my request— I’m an anxious person— so everyday. I was also a little worried her spunk would be gone but no it’s still there, only now she is able to follow commands and has social etiquette in public. I feel as though I have more freedom to go out with her. I feel safe knowing that she’s going to present herself in high regards—especially being a bully breed. As an owner of a bully breed dog, taking responsibility of how she behaves in public is really important to me, Elphaba receives compliments everywhere she goes about being a good listener. Training still continues every weekend, compliments of the 4-6 week program purchase—which is a wonderful way to keep up on the techniques and methods. Im also able to use the same training methods with my other dogs. The whole team does a wonderful job explaining concepts and answering all of my questions. Absolutely love them!!! I have miniature dachshund and I was always embarrassed taking him outside because of his behavior. They advice to have 4 weeks boarding training for him. By 2 weeks in, I already saw so much changes in his behavior. Now he completed his boarding training and ever since he is back, I am literally taking him everywhere with me ! They offer me to have group training every week and, that also helps me a lot to keep up with his training and for me to understand more about him and how to guid him to right behavior. I was always not 100% sure about dog training especially when the dog needs to be away for long time BUT I can never be happier with result and it is 1000% worth it to invest in training with them !!
