Society of St. Vincent de Paul Los Angeles Thrift Store: what do users think?

jackie capp: First time going there- Employees are SUPER friendly and helpful. It was a very fun experience and will be back!

OMAR A. MUHAMMAD, TH.M: The Society of St. Vincent de Paul claims it is the largest thrift store in Los Angeles, which certainly seems true. Upon entering, it feels like an indoor swap meets market. The store offers a great variety of items for purchase, ranging from washing machines to automobiles and from large house furnishings to kitchenware and small appliances. While I found the prices fair, they were too high for my budget. Nonetheless, there is something at this thrift store for everyone. I plan to return when I have more time and money to explore further.

Uglyracer Gaming: If you are a retro gamer please come to this store!I got a ps2 for 55 usd and it works thx Saint Vincent and thanks grandma! ❤️

Alfredo Placido: Alot of clothes

L.A. ROAD Thrift Store: what do users think?

William Canady: One of the best thrift store experiences.once you go....you will return again...

Mistery Bugante: Update: some of their stuff is gairly priced, some isn't.But I still shop there so I'm upping my rating.I used to love L.A. Road. I'm disappointed that it was bought out by a for profit business.Edit: I think that the store should either pay people for the "donations" or lower the prices. Right now it feels like they are taking advantage of everyone.

Mitch Weissman: AWESOME FINDS!! .STAFF IS VERY WELCOMING!!......ERICA WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND ‼️....HIGHLY RECOMMEND ‼️

Natalie K: Amazing deals for our house remodel...stone for counter top, brand new beautiful closet doors, used sliders for entry closet, brand new farm sink that is gorgeous. great staff. great experience all around.

Perla Torres: Excellent prices nice staff

Chris Schwaar: Great prices, new stuff all the time, always a really nice energy in the place. Staff are friendly, Chanel was very helpful and kind. Great place for furniture and house goods!

Kelsey Jones: Went in for some cookware I was eyeing and Chanel hooked it all the way up! She was very kind, tentative, and made sure I was able to walk out with a set with what they had leftover after the Black Friday/Thanksgiving rush.

JP Shelton: A fantastic place for furniture and home goods. They have a rotating selection of items, from new mirrors and candles to kitchen essentials like Caraway pots and pans. Whether you're furnishing a new home or looking to update your current one, they have everything you need, including appliances, beds, and kitchen tables. Plus, the prices are reasonable, and you're supporting a great cause. Highly recommend!

Tsion Lencho: I'm working on a bathroom update on the cheap and spent the last month going to as many ReStores as possible in the LA/OC area. Everywhere has great staff, poised to help and work with you on any number if ideas/issues. I am grateful to have so many kind people who work for a business that benefits the community. I plan to leave this review on all the locations I visited because the experience was the same everywehre.

James Shapiro: Came in on a Sunday and was amazed by the selection of items. Saw immediately cookware that I wanted and was assisted with all my questions and concerns by Renee - super nice and put me on a waitlist for a few items I was looking for. Highly recommend and will be coming back in the future.

J. G. W: Everyone wins here. Awesome furniture. One of 3 locations in LA. Bellflower is the larger of the 3. I can’t believe I slept on this so long

Kevin K: Excellent items in store!

DeeDee Maeshack: I love Habitat for Humanity La Brea store and how they support our community. There's a young lady Chanel who knows her merch. Chanel help me make my decision on my furniture plus accessories. FYI just ask for Chanel you'll be happy 😊

Sandy Abete: Renee is the kindest young woman I've ever encountered in a store. She shared with me about the wait list. Best news ever. She's a blessing and great customer service. High five 👋

Therese Castillo: Love this place best service ever

Anthony D Alvarez: A very nice establishment.

Pablo PAITÁN AYUQUE: Complete happiness because I found everything I needed. The staff helps guides and suggests very kindly. The Caja employees speak Spanish, and they gladly accept coupons to enjoy discounts.Spacious, tidy, clean place with large windows.Attention is from 9 a.m.They give away bags according to the size of the product.IMPORTANT!Look for products with an orange label that cost half the price.

castillodelmuro: Clean and found a few good deals. Street Parking only, no problem whatsoever.

Lety Pina: To be fair, what I bought was fine but I wanted to change something. They didn't measure it. Yes, they told me the time.

E Lizete Ramirez: Friendly staff when I dropped off donations and the location is clean and organized. The downside is. That there is no parking you have to find street parking which is limited.

Maribel Martines: I bought some cooking books, wine glasses, candlesand shoes!! everything have a discount I wasn't expecting all discount that they gave me also the salesperson are really good nice I coming next week 🙋‍♀️♥️♥️

liberty koppelmann: Very clean and today Thrift shop ! It’s a hit and Miss to find cool stuff/clothes.Clothing is more for women 40’s and up or at least conservative style. Reasonably priced-when they have a sale. Once in a while there’s something to take back home. I only found this today for $5.Parking : descent. Can find spots across the street.PRO’s : Great other stores on this street : Nail places, juice crafters, toppings and other.I now only stop when on the way to/from somewhere. Super friendly staff-typically retired lively ladies. Been coming here for 5-6 years. They used to have great cashemere scarves and sweaters. No more-like in most thrift shops the best are being sold online.

Steve Thomas: Nice store

baby milk0: I had a very good experience here, the prints are very unique and pretty. The cashier at the front had a very positive sweet attitude.

Miss Wise: This is hands down my favorite thrift store not only because I fully support recycling and reusing to take pressure off of the environment caused by the production of new items but they always have treasures, the store is very clean and the women that work there are so wonderful, lovely and helpful. They make your shopping experience fun. They even have sale days if you can believe that - got 50% off on most of the items I bought. My daughter loves shopping here as well - something for everyone. I highly recommend this thrift store.

Kyli Clark: CLOSED ON MONDAY

Nick Metropolis Collectible: what do users think?

Johnny Alvarez: Nick is an amazing guy he gave me a bargain I couldn't refuse, he was generous enough to let me leave with everything I wanted even tho I was short $13 dollars I'll definitely be back to pick up more stuff and pay him his money he really needs it right lets support the cause so this place doesn't disappear this place is filled with so many amazing items and Nick is willing to work with you.

Bailey Price: Love this place

Alicia Caudillo: Nick is absolutely a gem, sweet and humble. Down to earth in a way we don't see anymore, walking through his shop made me think of the thrift shops my mom used to take me too. I love his collection of art and letters. This place really is a gem.

Raby Savage: WOW! Memorabilia includes something for everyone. I even bought an acoustic piano that has a beautiful tone. Great location for filming videos, tv, movies! And the owner is a living legend Nick Metropolis.

Tricia Knope: Great spot! Nick is very kind

Karen Keating: Best place to shop in Los Angeles. Nick is a treasure. He is an amazing storyteller. I bought a super cool book, and a card case which I will use for years to come...

Cassandra Grant: You have to go to experience, used treasures. I have found all my backyard, dining tables and chairs, for a price that would never be found in the store. I priced my tables and chairs in a high end store. Near BelAire. $2200. Nick's $500

Jada Ganim: Great experience. We got a super cool film reel! Nick was so great and helpful. Definitely recommend stopping in, especially if you're in film.

Jessica Arroyo: One word to describe this place: Unique! This place is unlike any you’ll ever encounter! Nick’s place is full of interesting things: signs, books, artwork, etc- you name it, he has it! If you’re going to stop anywhere in LA, this is the place to visit! Nick, who runs the store, is such an open-minded and creative person- definitely make sure to tell him hello! This is an iconic place that truly makes LA so special!

Jakob Longcob: Nick is an extremely kind person and his store is something special. I could spend hours here. Thanks for the great experience Nick, I’ll be visiting again soon.

Carmen Coral: Great place, I was feeling walking thru time capsule, fabulous collectibles.

Maddy Schmidt: Come for the treasures, stay for the stories!! This place is so full of gems and the brightest of them all is Nick himself. He regaled my friends and I with stories of the many interesting customers he's served, as well as stories behind many of the pieces themselves. A five star experience in every possible way. Most importantly, Nick provides above the bar customer service. I bought a bunch of stuff including a really heavy old dresser. He gave me a good deal on it since it needed fixing up, and when it came time to pick it up, he refused to let me drive in the pouring rain and instead enlisted a colleague to deliver the dresser to me, for much less than I would have spent on a uhaul. This place and Nick are truly iconic and I can't wait to come back for more!!

Frances Tracht: Great seeing Nick. We had no idea where he'd moved to and as we spotted it along our drive we pulled over and Nick came outside. He still has amazing stuff.

harisbiggy: Nick is a sweetheart with an amazing and nostalgic collection of various nick nacks, props, and household items you can imagine. If you're looking to add flavour to your film production, or even spice up your home decor, this is an absolutely fascinating visit. DO NOT MISS!

Emily Dimant: One of the best collections of items I’ve ever seen and all reasonably priced! A hidden gem & fantastic owner Nick who is just as excited about your special finds as you are! Support this business!!!

Russ Vandeveerdonk: Legendary Nick Metropolis, owner, biggest collection of Hollywood memorabilia, Kanye West, Michael Jackson, Al Pacino are all customers and friends! The who's who of A-List actors frequent this busy, crowded with stuff spot! He's awesome, a regular on Today Show, YouTube and Storage Wars!

Vietnam Veterans of America – Free Donation Pickup in Van Nuys: what do users think?

Aziza Tellaiy:

Mary Dilley: We donate a few times a year and they are super responsive by email. The young man who picks up is courteous and professional. Love our veterans and happy to help.

Esperanza Guzman: I donate to Vietnam veterans because they are professional, timely, and reliable. Their staff do a great job picking up my donations.

Roberta Baker: So happy to be able to help the veterans!

phyllis erbsen: Sorry to hear some of these complaints. I have donated a lot over the years and the pick-up was NEVER a problem. WE have a long drive and we leave it partway up the driveway to keep scavengers from picking thru our boxes.

Uglyracer Gaming: Loved this place the games are 5.00 each compared to the retro game stores I go to are super expensive.

Brandon H: One of the more hidden gems out of all thrift stores you can find in LA. Bonus helping the community without religion!

Jeslie Martinez: MY FAVORITE thrift store! I love their home selection! I’ve been going to this store for a few years now and I swear by it! I definitely recommend

andrew: Great thrift store. I've had the most luck buying furniture here. The clothing selection and pricing leaves something to be desired. However, they donate 96% of proceeds to a great cause which makes me feel confident that spending my money here is worthwhile.

Christopher McDonald: Very good inventory, great prices, you really can't go wrong here!

AC Pzn: Whenever I go there, I always find something interesting. It is a great place to shop.

Cory Scott: Sport coat ready now….

Maria Duran: Got some "gently used" clothes including a pretty turquoise denim jacket. Also a cute ceramic blue bird.

T. Wheeler: Friendly staff and great finds for reasonable prices

William Guest: I began going to this store when they 1st opened. They are on a street that runs right along San Fernando Road. This means that parking is never a worry. Good thing too since I almost never leave empty handed. They have all the regular thrift store stuff as you would expect. But what I give them the highest marks for is the books and framed art. While you can get Jackie Collins here, you will also find art books, and small press travel books that are hard to even find. I took a fancy to a well framed watercolor which was priced at 16 plus change, and found E bay offering a similar work from 500 to 1500.

Heather Shoopman: . And forget about the Hollywood location, it's not even like a thrift store it's so pricey.

JP Shelton: Came here specifically looking for a black coat and I found one for 9.99 so that’s a win. When eating goodwills I care about the inventory and organization - this place has both so win. Surprisingly a lot of brand new bathing suits.

Sang hwa kwon: Good

ernesto romero: great findings at times....

Erick Kost: Very understaffed and hiring their prices I should go to a main store if I want to buy buy clothes like this

Maricela Dzul: There are things to choose from, in very good condition.

Amos Roger: I like to go just to look around but usually end up getting something I don't really need. They sell used DVDs in the back for 2.99 and since there's no longer any blockbuster locations, I grab a DVD to watch while I eat dinner when supper's on the stove.

sonia rodriguez: Excellent service

Marcos Martinez: The best customer service in the world. They should give all of them a raise. Especially the manager with the Claudia she is the best. Her customer service is excellent very helpful. the employees have made me a regular for their store.

Helping Hand Thrift Shop: what do users think?

524 FLINDERS: The most amazing range of watches, jewellery, type and earrings. Definitely an amazing spot for thrifting 👌

Himanshu Gupta: Many antique items available in the shop. Reasonable price. It's not a museum. Shop closed every Saturday.I didn't buy anything but had a positive/good conversation with the shop owner Solman. A soft spoken person we talked about his first India visit and stay at Taj Hotel Bombay.

Othman Hafdi: This is an LA hidden gem, you can find some very interesting vintage items, from a 1920s 18mm projector, to silver or gold vintage jewelry, there is something for everyone, and the prices are fair for what you get. And do add to it the lady that works there is just lovely, great spirits which are not very common at thrift shops.

Jack Jamsakian: The best shopping experience I had in LA

Clauzelle Fredeling: Treasures Period.....That's all I have to say ❤️

Connor Sandefer: This place was great and awesome staff! Great deals and willing to negotiate.

Rachel Judy: most definitely worth the stop!!

Max Varenyk: Great thrift store with lots of choices! Perfect to look for interesting and unique outfits for photoshoots!

Kristin Major: Absolutely love this shop! Great deals and unique pieces!

MZ: Love stopping by for one of a kind pieces!

Elizabeth S Contreras: Cute and fun assortment of vintage jewelry, accessories, clothing, and home decor. If i weren’t from out of state, I’d definitely have taken home some furniture too!!

Humza Syed: is so helpful and has the best stuff for sell. Clothes, antiques, vinyl records, hats, everything! I’ve become a regular here and I honestly n don’t think I’ll stop shopping at this spot.

Bobby Reed: . Moji has wonderful pieces and lots of 'em. I picked up some stunning table linens last Sunday. Highly recommended, but bring time and money and lots of both; thousands of items. The cufflinks alone took an hour to browse! Fun.

Children Charities Resale Store: what do users think?

Samantha Shirazi: Excellent store filled to the brim with books, lamps, couches, art, rugs, etc. Prices are fair for the quality of the items. Nothing is “cheap” but I felt I paid a fair price for the items I purchased. Kass was awesome!

Jewel Lim: Antiques, now if your looking for some antiques this is the place! They have so much nice vintage and classical things its soninteresting too see. The owner is so knowledgeable about the stuff in his store its almost like story telling. I could get lost in here!

eriko p: .The upstairs is currently closed on this visit, but previously, the upstairs attic was jammed packed with tons of treasures. Hopefully in the future the upstairs will reopen.Masks required at this time.

Pamela Foard: Fascinating store with a great collection of books and interesting period furniture choices.

shannon barnaj: Most amazing place with such good selections for a reasonable price!! Owner is so nice!!

Ziva Kohan: Great place! Really recommend it!

Yael Wiener: The owner of the store is so nice! I didn’t feel I was being pushed into making a purchase, which I really liked. The store has so many nice things I wish I could put it all in my home. I highly recommend this store!!

David Bamber: 18 months ago I made the move from London, England to Los Angeles. I packed up my home in the UK to start a new life in California. After finding a great apartment it was down to the somewhat intimidating but exciting exercise to furnish my new home. I have always enjoyed treasure hunting, restoration and breathing new life into something somebody else no longer cares for. So I set about scouring all the charity stores in LA.I stumbled on Children Charities Resale Store purely by accident. An Aladdin's Cave run by 3 terrific gentlemen , all of whom have a good eye for quality and craftsmanship.Over the past year I made monthly, if not weekly trips to see what I missed the previous visit, and what new things had turned up.Displayed over 2 enormous floors, you can find enough wonderful things to furnish a palace. I told the "gentlemen" if they were going to tempt me with more things they would need to start looking for a new apartment for me.Kass, Pedram and Errol have a real talent for display and you will find things laid out by country, genre, and period with interesting mixes of all of the above. Everything is fairly priced. As I am sure you have concluded I have successfully and satisfactoraliy furnished my new LA home with everything from light fixtures, carpets, furniture, books and object d'art.I have very little space left but can not resist making regular trips to visit my friends at Children Charities to see what recent treasures they have found. If you love treasure hunting like I do Children Charities is a must! ENJOY.

Erik Brickmeier: Good Find! Looking forward to tomorrow

Matt Raab: Selection for a thrift shop is extraordinaryBut the parking options can be a bit scaryThis neighborhood allowsOutdoor space for the unhousedThat may limit how long you're there and what you can carry

Tacy Prins Woodlief: im glad they reopened. they have some cool clothes, and a ton of nice furniture. somewhat lacking on the brig a brac but that should technically always be a secondary focus in a thrift store so i think it’s pretty understandable and even commendable some might say.

samuel hefty: This store though!!! I love this store, from self gifting, to new years parties, Christmas, birthdays, I can always walk in and find something really cool to purchase.

Annette Grimes: It's a cute place. A little bit of this and that. I went hoping to buy jewelry, a dress or dress pants. Didn't find anything I had to have. They were having a 25% discount. The jewelry was priced high to me, but I understand they are trying to raise money. It's nowhere close to where I live, so I probably won't be back.

Franklin Wong: Good place to buy use clothes

Jessica Aaron: I found two really nice suits there. The people were awsome.

Noe Jimeneslopez: They have good cuallaty furniture in side and good clothes.

Maria Montgomery (Mir'yam/Me'ira Montgomery): So many nice things! I really liked this Boutique!

Start Rescue Resale Store: what do users think?

LOreal Dunn: Lots of fun things to look through and great selection. I love supporting animal causes and they do amazing work. Definitely will be back.

Alexandra Cruz: One of my absolute favorites! I’m a second hand, thrifting, vintage lover. This shop is conveniently located by the 405 and 101 and always has parking. Really great stuff, especially house goods and cool vintage clothes. I decorated my wedding with thrifted dishes, glassware, cake holder, etc. I got some great pieces here and a cute brown leather belt. I have also donated my gently used items here. I’m an animal lover so I really love that it’s for animals! 🏼🐕🐾

Heidi Schoendorfer: I love shopping at Start Rescue Resale. It’s my favorite boutique thrift store in the valley. I have gotten quality brand name clothing there for extremely fair prices. Their salespeople are fantastic, especially Arlene. She has really great taste and always makes suggestions for things I would never think to buy. The best thing about this place is all the proceeds go to rescuing homeless animals from euthanasia. I highly recommend shopping here.

jeri vargas: I am never disappointed here: I always find something to make the trip worthwhile, and I love that the money goes to help rescue animals. The staff is friendly and helpful. A win-win experience!

Devin Diaz: Absolutely top notch place. The staff are so friendly and don't bombard you with questions at all. There is a lot of eclectic stuff here for really good prices. The proceeds go to help animals as well, meaning it's good for your wallet, good for the environment, and good for puppies and kittens. The integrity of the staff is absolutely unmatched. I dropped $20 out of my wallet and didn't realize, leaving the store. The owner followed me out and gave me the money that I dropped. She easily could have kept it and I would have had no idea, but she returned it from the straight up goodness of her heart. If you can only go to one thrift store for the rest of your life, this would be a good one

C N: I am grateful for everything they do, they work extremely hard to support rescue animals. The staff leaves much to be desired now- not as friendly as they once were. They are also quite picky as to what they accept for donations now, and their prices are much too high for a resale place.

Jennifer Despres: and there's a huge selection for me. My man is large and there are plenty of options for him too. I never leave here empty handed and know the proceeds are going to a great cause! The staff is super friendly too! It's definitely the place to go for medium to higher end items. Also, if you donate things they don't think will sell, they redonate to other worthy causes.

Fradelle Milrad: Saving lives matters to them. Steve Spiro is amazing and puts his heart and soul into his rescue. Thank you Steve. We need more people like you.

Jordyn: New customer! I loved this antique store and has an organization for animals in need! An adorable and affordable pet rescue business!

Shaun: Amazing store with incredible value and even better mission. Karim went above and beyond to help me. Highest recommendation.

Fiona Torrese: and I could not recommend it enough.

Wendy M.: The store had a large variety of nice things for such a small space. Nice shopkeeper and nice vibe. Fantastic cause!!!😼

Ewelina Kosciow: I love this place! It can be difficult to find larger sizes, but everything is donated, so it’s not their fault. There are always great shoes, jewelry, accessories etc. Beautiful designer pieces too.

Orlando Accuratime: The staff is friendly and helpful high end quality merchandise at bargain basement prices! Everything from crystal to shoes.

The women working there today were both incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful! I was in a bit of a rush today, and didn’t have a chance to really look around or buy anything, but I’ll be back soon!
