Carondelet House: what do users think?

Paige Raudenbush: I got married at Carondelet House last December, and I can't say enough about how incredible the experience was from start to finish. First off, let me just say, the venue itself is stunning and unlike anywhere else in Los Angeles. From the moment we first toured Carondelet, we were sold. The team there was amazing—super friendly, always ready to answer our questions, and never making us feel like we were bothering them with all our details. They were just as invested in making our day perfect as we were.On the wedding day, everything was flawless. The service was top-notch, the food was delicious, and they really didn't miss a beat when it came to the details. Plus, one of the best parts about Carondelet is that so much is included in the venue rental—chairs, tables, even cutlery and glasses. It made everything so much easier for us.If you're looking for a classy, elegant venue in LA that'll leave a lasting impression on your guests, Carondelet House is definitely the place to go.

Andy Rodriguez Photography: As a wedding photographer, Carondelet House is definitely one of my favorite venues to capture weddings in Los Angeles. If you're looking for a place to getting married in LA, I highly recommend this wedding venue.

Tina McElvarr: Great wedding. All was wonderful.

Genessy Glory: Beautiful venue, but like many other older locations, it has limited accessibility and does not have its own parking. It is next door to a parking garage which is helpful. Be careful walking at night.

Mackenzie Crismas: beautiful venue and really good food!

Dino Moody: Great spot for an event. Historical vibe. Nice workspace for catered out back, too.

Dennis Bocanegra: Nice

Anthony kruzic: Great place for intimate gatherings.Terrific ambiance and waiting staff.Highly recommend for smaller gatherings.

Christina: My aunt had her wedding here. The location is a bit odd but once you walk in to the venue the place becomes nostalgic and stunning. Sadly there isn’t much street parking and there is a school right across the street. However right around the corner is a parking structure where you can park. They only expect cash! Besides those few things I thought the venue was great. They are 🥂🍻🍺🍾🍹🍸🍁🌬💨 friendly just be sure to speak with them before hand about it.

Sylvia Mok: Beautiful venue for wedding

Yana Tinker (Yana's Photos): I loved photographing here and am happy that this place is still around. What a beautiful spot to have a wedding.

Fatima Elreda: As a Los Angeles wedding photographer, I have photographed in a ton of LA wedding venues. This one always is at the top of my list because it is so incredibly photogenic! There are multiple areas to take wonderful and beautiful imagery of my couples, and each space is so unique. The bridal suite is one of my all time favorites -- it has cool furniture, beautiful wallpaper, plants, and very pretty light. The "man cave" downstairs is an entirely different feel with a fireplace and with a dark colored palette for everything else. The ceremony space gets transformed into the dinner area, it's just all so efficient and beautiful. The small courtyard is also so special. The parking lot next door is also a very cool place to take photos. I can write so many good things about this venue but let me show you photos instead.

Antonio: Beautiful structure for events and weddings

Reptacular Ranch: what do users think?

Anna Farr: We just had our wedding at Reptacular Ranch and it was incredible! The venue was gorgeous and everyone was a pleasure to work with. We worked with Diana as our amazing party planner and coordinator and she was so responsive and helpful the entire process. She pulled off an incredible ceremony and reception. We would not have been able to do it without her. She made our wedding dreams come true and more. We are all so grateful to have found reptacular ranch and Diana. Every guest was telling us this was the most unique and fun wedding they have been to. Thank you Diana and the Reptacular crew!!

ViGa OnE: Wonderful place and the employees are very kind and friendly! I advise everyone to visit this ranch!

Dominique Petrassi: for our guests was delightful. We even did a photoshoot with two of their gorgeous reptiles- Aang the Asian Water Monitor and Lilo the Red Tail Boa.Thank you so much to the Ranch for helping us throw a fun and memorable wedding!

Katy Brown: Been a few time and they never disappoint! Definitely recommend!

Miranda Green: We wanted to add a special touch to our tropical-themed wedding day. When we envisioned parrots greeting our guests and creating unforgettable photo opportunities, we reached out to Reptacular Animals, and it was a decision we'll forever cherish.Working with Reptacular Animals was a breeze from the very beginning. Their commitment to providing a unique experience was evident, and they made the process incredibly easy and transparent. It was apparent that they understood the importance of making our dream a reality. Our request was rather specific, as we only wanted parrots, despite their usual mix of animals. Diana, who coordinated everything for us, was an absolute gem. She not only understood our vision but also made sure to bring it to life. She sent us pictures of the birds they had available and even added notes about the ones she knew we'd love. This personal touch made us feel like our wedding was as important to them as it was to us.As the big day approached, Diana confirmed all the details, and we couldn't have been more excited. We ended up with five beautiful parrots and two incredible handlers that joined us and our guests, creating moments we'll forever cherish. The parrots added a unique and tropical touch to our wedding, and our guests were delighted by this unexpected and unforgettable experience. Reptacular Animals helped make our day even more special, and we are beyond grateful for their dedication to creating extraordinary memories. If you're seeking something truly unique and memorable for your event, we wholeheartedly recommend Reptacular Animals. They went above and beyond to make our tropical-themed wedding an unforgettable and colorful celebration. Thank you, Reptacular Animals, for making our day one-of-a-kind!

Izabel Cortez: Cory was very attentive and made sure the space was clean when we got there. He communicated well and swiftly when I had any questions or concerns. We used the space for a styled shoot, which turned out excellent!

Cholhye and SeonJoo Kim: during the wedding and she was so lovely and the kids loved it as well. We were worried because it was raining the whole week and the path to go to the venue, had some water/river running about 5 in. or so, but thankfully, on the day of our wedding, it went down a lot and wasn't raining. Overall the experience on the venue was so memorable and beautiful. We always talk about how we don't regret the venue and would choose this for our wedding venue over anything!

Holly Castillo: What an amazing hidden gem in Los Angeles! I've photographed many weddings there since 2017 and love being there every single time 3 Great owner, beautiful quiet area, and wonderful animals.

Karen Mushegian: Great location, clean air, nature, small zoo. Great place for events, weddings, corporate events, etc. I recommend!

They kept participants safe and engaged.Thank You Reptacular, we highly recommend this activity, and we look forward to all future camps or activities.

Sabra Hammett: This place is such a beautiful get away so close to the city that it is easy to get to but located in the mountains so you absolutely forget about the city. Truly serene

Crecencio Rodriguez: What an amazing experience!!! The kids had a great time as well as all the adults. All the reptiles were so cool.

Matti Urias: My husband and I got married here in April and it was perfect. The venue is beautiful and all of our guests loved it. Cory was so easy to work with and such a nice guy. He really lets you have free reign with what you want to do. You can bring in your own vendors and they have great recommendations. I would recommend getting married here to anybody. It was a warm day and a bit windy but nonetheless perfect.

Calamigos Los Angeles: what do users think?

Garry Kepes: Nice party/wedding venue.

Vicente Valencia: The place is very nice and you have a great time

Elisa Heredia Reese: Beautiful venue

Casey Long: in August of 2021. We heard about the venue through friends who held their wedding there several years prior. The venue has several options of ceremony locations and reception rooms, each with varying occupancies which was appealing as we hadn’t considered what our guest count would look like at that point. All the ceremony and reception options are lovely as are the surrounding grounds, but the Equestrian Ballroom really spoke to the hubs and I. The staff was very friendly and helpful in showing and explaining the options of locations available, going over their food, drinks, and available package options. I loved the fact they offered all the general basic necessities as part of their packages

JerOmy Robert: The grounds are amazing but the facilities could use an update.

Megan Dino: After over a year of postponing due to Covid, we finally had our wedding at Calamigos in August 2021 and it was everything we hoped for and more. Kat is absolutely amazing! She was the first person we met when we toured the venue so long ago. She was with us through all of the postponements and changes and was there to make sure everything went off without a hitch on our wedding day. Kat & the Calamigos staff are friendly, professional, helpful, and quick to respond to whatever you need. They made the wedding planning process easy and were willing to work with special requests and changes. Everything on our wedding day was perfect and we didn't have to worry about a thing thanks to their hard work. Our guests raved about the food and said it was one of the prettiest venues they had ever been to. Thanks Calamigos for making our wedding wishes come true!

Erica Jung: Worked with Kat and the team at Calamigos LA for the first time last weekend and everything was such a breeze! The staff is amazing and they try and help anyway they can. Their service is also super quick and efficient. Serving 16 tables in the time allotted in the schedule was easy peasy.I really love the rustic indoor and outdoor spaces Calamigos LA offers. This particular wedding day was super hot, but the AC was blasting and they offered a cute & spacious bridal suite cottage for the wedding party to cool down. The polo room has a huge well lit and well stocked bar as well as plenty of barrel tables & white countertops for displaying photos, party favors, escort cards, etc. Also had plenty of patio space for cocktail hour and lawn games that the bride & groom provided.Overall, such an easy & beautiful wedding day. Can't wait to work here again!

Mini Yoon: .I look forward to bringing more clients here for future events and weddings. And no, it doesn't smell like horse poop.

Old Brown House: what do users think?

Millicent Marquez: The Old Brown House exudes a captivating blend of rustic charm and timeless elegance, making it the perfect backdrop for our intimate and special wedding. Our guests were enchanted by its ambiance, the lovely chapel and complemented perfectly by the delightful charcuterie and punch bowl served. What truly made our experience memorable was the accommodation of our beloved fur babies, who were welcomed with open arms. Tess and Dan, the owners, treated us like family members, and their attentive staff added to the warmth of the occasion. Without hesitation, we wholeheartedly recommend this enchanting venue to anyone seeking a truly unforgettable experience. We absolutely love the Old Brown House!Ampe & Millie

gimenosa: I can only recommend this place if you want to get married in a super absolutely gorgeous place and also not have a thought in the world in planning , Tess and Dan would absolutely take care of you . We had a small little intimate wedding and everyone absolutely loved the space and what they offered and for us as a couple made things so easy 10/10 would recommend and would do again , the ceremony was beautiful , the atmosphere the house offers is so welcoming and intimate .

Jacqueline Medina: My partner and I got married here in November and it was an AMAZING experience! They did all of our paperwork with us and decorated the place beautifully. Highly recommend for a small intimate ceremony!

Tessa Cash: Crossing paths with Tessie and Dan was such a gift in our magical, unconventional journey. We adored having our special day at the incredible, unique space they have cultivated at Little Brown House. They are both whimsical, free spirits and we felt such a kindredness with the paths they have trekked. They offer a reimagined vision of what a wedding ceremony can look like and we so appreciated and valued their authenticity and warm “reception.”

Max Mccullen: I met Tessi and Dan and immediately felt their warmth. You can tell they love what they are doing and are creating something very unique. They gave my finance and I a tour and even let my girl try on outfits. Which were all really cute. You really have to see what they have created at this house, it is perfectly done. We are so excited to have our wedding and reception at Old Brown House and hope to have Tessi and Dan as life long friends!Max

Felipe Contreras: Dan, Tess and everyone at The Old Brown house were so kind and welcoming. My wife and I decided to remarry here after stumbling across their “free weddings” post on FB on June 10th 2023. We didn’t know what to expect, kept an open heart and mind and had a great experience, witnessed two very emotional weddings. Thank you Old Brown House!

Jen Ballera: I got married here on their opening day and it was glorious. Weddings in general tend to miss the point—the industry is over saturated and overrun with bloated costs, catering, coordinating, often missing the reason for it all—the celebration of the love of two people in partnership. This space is intimate, unpretentious, not hung up on trying to be more than what it is, and it’s beautiful. There’s a dressing room and three areas to get married in. They’ve streamlined the whole process but kept all the parts of the wedding ceremony that have heart. The good, important stuff. It’s the perfect place to celebrate and keep it small. Tess and Dan are incredibly kind and the space is gorgeous and photographs beautifully. If you are looking for a low-key but affordable commitment ceremony, wedding, vow renewal, etc., look no further than the old brown house!

Derek Che: The Old Brown House is an enchanting and affordable place to host your intimate wedding. You can feel the love that went into creating this cozy space the second you walk through its doors. It even has a bridal suite filled with wedding gowns in case you’d like to wear one for your walk down the aisle! Its owners, Tess and Dan, took great care of our friends on their big day and made it even more special than they could ever dream. At The Old Brown House, you’ll be surrounded by good energy and have beautiful memories to share for a lifetime! There’s no place like it in LA!

Nathalie Ramirez: The Old Brown House holds an important and special place in my heart. Having our wedding here was such an honor. It was quick, affordable, personalized, and gorgeous. Tess and Dan are two souls who exude love and make this place as incredible as it is. We are lucky to have found such a beautiful gem nestled into our very own neighborhood. It feels like home…full of comfort, familiarity, and love.

Gordon Ip: so if you're in the market for that, hit them up and get a temperature check. To Tess and Dan,Thanks so much for your giving and your loving. Hope you are well. We might start getting baby carrots now! And the dip was great. Still working on the hummus. See you soon.

Emma Antunes: I was there for my sister and brother-in-law’s vow renewal and was pretty blown away. What an amazing place! The Old Brown House has a style that’s hard to describe. It’s timeless. It’s warm and cozy and honestly, unlike any other wedding venue I have ever seen. The little wood chapel is stunning.  Every inch of the place feels handcrafted. The ceremony was beautiful and sweet. I took a lot of photos! I highly recommend The Old Brown house to couples who are looking for small intimate non-traditional ceremonies. Five stars!

Anthony Sherritt: When it comes to wedding ceremonies we used to have only 2 choices, an ugly courthouse wedding in some lifeless bureaucratic office building, or a wedding in a lovely setting, the cost of which would be a down payment on a new home. Why can't there be something in between; a compromise? Now there is! The Old Brown House is a very special place created by artists Tess & Dan in the middle of highland park. The dark wooden structure, wrought iron fencing and detailed landscaping remind me of a New Orleans oasis, cozy and romantic, nooks and crannies filled with mystery. I immediately felt the good energy in the place. It entices you with its ornate furniture your grandmother might have had. If you sit down you won't want to leave! My friend's wedding ceremony was intimate and beautiful. Not a dry eye in the house. Afterwards we were treated to a spectacular, impromptu parade around the property. I can't remember the last time I had this much fun at a wedding. The cool thing is you don't have to wait till you've found your life partner to enjoy a ceremony here. They also do ceremonies for friends, pets, or even marry yourself! Cuz why not?! You deserve it!I'd love to see friend commitment ceremonies become a regular thing. I think it's wonderful to have an option for a meaningful activity you can do with your circle of loved ones.

Daniel S: Old Brown House made my wedding fun and intimate in a relaxed setting. Thank you Dan and Tess.

Hattie Brown: Tess and Dan officiated our marriage at their funky little chapel and it ended up being one of the most beautiful days of my life. It was a small, no-fuss ceremony, yet wrapped in so much love and respect. The venue looked sick in our photos and Tess tailored our ceremony to something we were comfortable with and kept it stress-free. A joyous occasion.
