Hannah Heacock: This is the only place I get my hair done. All the students are incredibly talented and kind. Spencer gave me a root touch up and toning treatment and I am absolutely in love with it!!

Obviously it's a school, and it takes a little bit longer but I sincerely appreciated the care and focus both the student and teacher put into my hair cut. They went above and beyond what I asked for. 5 star experience.

I worked with Mina for color and highlights and just loved the results. She got rid of that brassiness that happens when you lighten brown hair. Yes, it takes longer here since you are working with students, but you know that going in and you can't beat the price.

Ashleigh Chilton: Daria and Michael are fantastic. I bleached my hair at home and had a homemade haircut that had grown out in a clownish fashion. They were patient and just amazing. There were 2 other instructors who assisted, but I don't remember their names. They were equally amazing, especially the barber with the long luxurious curly hair. Everyone was friendly and professional. The salon was inviting and clean. They even had purse hooks. I am going to come back for a corrective color.
Fearless Plays: I had my hair retouched and colored by Brandi Kuhry. What an absolute amazing job she did. She was so professional, and very knowledgeable as to what my needs are. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she matched it exactly. She also blow dried and styled my hair so when I left it looked beautiful.I would highly recommend Brandi to anyone and I definitely will be following her wherever she goes after graduation.
Megan Kennedy: When I read these reviews before I went in I was a little nervous but I usually take reviews with a grain of salt and go in for my own experience. I met some of the students at my job. I work across the street and was told about their services and the pricing so I was interested to come check it out.Just for others to be aware: this is a school and they are gaining experience and may not be at their best. If you have high expectations you might want to pass this up. They have you sign a waiver before so you’re aware that this is a school and they’re learning.I got a facial and my eyebrows done. I waited for about 10 min and was greeted and taken downstairs. I had a great experience.The girl asked if I liked my brows and to not be afraid to tell her if I didn’t and I asked her to just fix one spot up and I was happy. I got a facial done as well and it was very relaxing and I was very happy with my experience and I am all about giving my time to someone who wants to learn and get better at something they’re interested in. I was prepared to possibly have bad brows come out but everything turned out great.I was very happy with my experience and the friendly service I got. I will come back again.

Jerry Villa (Villa_farms): Check it out I don't attend school there, but I go there about twice a week to get a haircut from my barber Jose, who does an outstanding job! Even though he is still a student he already seems like a pro, no lie.. All of the barbers do there thing though ..💈Extremely professional, and awesome vibes that come out of that place. And the price for a cut like they do there is no other! As for the other services they do I can not speak on them I haven't had the privilege yet, but I am thinking about trying there massage here real quick 💆.. J C: I’m in the final few hours of the barber course at this school. I am an out of state barber updating my hours as required by the State so I can write the test and continue working.That being said, I’ve not only taken the barber course in another school many years ago but I’ve also been working in the field as a professional for many years.I have a lot of school experience and real world working experience and I can honestly say that ZMS The Academy is on top of their business. The staff from the front desk to all the teachers are amazing, personable and huge resource of knowledge and are experts in the field. The teachers teach a good thorough course not only getting you prepared for the state exam but even more so getting you prepared to work in the field with confidence. You can tell that they genuinely care about the students and how they are grasping the information.The teachers and administrators are very accommodating with the students and work with them on an individual basis not only with school work but school attendance as well.As a professional in the field I’m so glad I have the opportunity to finish up the required training for the state at ZMS the Academy. Comparing this school to my other school and the real working world this is, in my opinion, the school to attend.I highly recommend ZMS the Academy to anyone needing training in Barbering or Aesthetician. Joshua: I was very nervous about changing my life in my late 20s and committing to barber school and in the beginning when I was looking at schools I was looking for any reason on why it wouldn’t work or why I couldn’t do it and that I should just stick to what I know. But after I visited the school and was greeted and given a tour by Max and introduced to everyone, suddenly I wasn’t anxious anymore. I felt confident in my decision to pursue barbering. After touring many schools and then completing the program at ZMS, I learned that what really separates them is the instructors. Ms Dolores is a seasoned veteran with 4 Licenses and an abundance of knowledge and makes theory fun and easy to learn and genuinely cares about helping you become a better barber. Chris, the instructor for the barber floor, makes you feel comfortable and confident even if you’ve never cut hair before. His patience and good vibes make you feel like you’re learning a skill while just hanging with a friend. And Max, although a newer instructor, has a way of making every student feel like they matter. He would give the shirt off his back to any student who would need it. He serves as the De-facto mascot of ZMS, and although those are big shoes to fill, he does it perfectly. Even Jez at the front desk isn’t too bad 😉Thanks guys for everything and I’ll be back soon for my 2nd License!
Brandon deCervens: Best experience I have ever had from a school. Happy and honored to say I completed my hours to become a barber here! All of the Staff from Ms. Jez to Ms. Dolores to Max and the captain of the barber floor, Chris are all caring and will teach you the skills from being a nobody with no skills to have the confidence and abilities to work in a shop. You’ll meet new people daily and make new friends along the way and It is a very clean and safe environment for everybody. If you have concerns, they actually listen. I usually don’t leave reviews but If you are ready to put the work in I personally recommend this school over any other schools in LA to get your barber license! Dee Bee: Well today I got my license as an esthetician. This school will help you succeed, just listen to the teachers and put in the work. Our teacher Ms. Dolores is theory and she will help with whatever you need. Ms Shahla keeps us with hands on, you learn or practice something everytime. Everyone is kind and will go the extra to help you.

This school gives a great environment and great instructors that lead you in the right direction to pass your state board exam, in the short time i was here, i was prepped to be ready for my exam and retained more information then i ever did at my previous school paul mitchell(zms is the move it you want to gain knowledge , practice cutting hair and prepare you to be a barber on one in just 8 months, i wish i would of came here from the beginning

I’m a newly licensed esthetician thanks to the training I received at this school. Maggie Sisco: Annie B. did a MET-I-CU-LOUS job on my very coarse/curly hair. She accommodated my schedule and even stayed late to get through my thick, unruly mane. She taught me a lot about my hair type and discussed options with me for new styles I had not considered. There was also a new instructor there who was excellent at sharing guidance as well. It was pretty clear from my experience that they both had a fierce passion for what they do and a drive to keep their expertise sharp and be on the leading edge of what's new in the industry. Highly HIGHLY recommend. Already made my return appointment.

Liv Li: THEY ARE THE BEST!!! I did a simple haircut, but they gave me a full service with shampoo and conditioner. The student was very professional and patient, and the teacher was consistently checking on the process to make sure things were done properly. Their deep conditioning is definitely worth to try.
