Hashimoto Nursery: what do users think?

Nate Russell: Friendly and helpful service. Helped me find the right plant life and is there to help it grow.

Matt Frishkorn: Have a wonderful selection of pots and outdoor plants. So many butterflies and small birds make it such a peaceful spot to shop.

Claire Elise: Everything there is so beautiful. My only complaint was the dude I tipped $5 to for his help didn’t even say thanks. Some people right?

Rosson: Allow me to take you on a journey to the enchanting haven known as Hashimoto Plant Nursery—an oasis of green nestled amidst the hustle and bustle of development on the west side. This hidden gem has etched its place not just as a nursery, but as a vital thread in the fabric of its community, a haven of greenery that has thrived amidst the changing landscape. In a world where the relentless march of progress often sweeps away the vestiges of the past, Hashimoto Plant Nursery stands resolute, a beacon of tradition and community spirit. The owners, the custodians of this botanical treasure trove, have steadfastly held their ground against the tides of change, a testament to their unwavering dedication and the profound roots they've nurtured over the years. It's not just about plants at Hashimoto—it's about a living, breathing legacy. As I step onto its hallowed grounds, I can't help but sense the stories whispered by the leaves and blooms. The history is palpable, a tale of growth, adaptation, and the tenacity to hold onto one's essence even when surrounded by change. The devotion of the owners to this sanctuary shines through in every corner, in every lush foliage that graces the nursery. It's an experience that transcends transaction—it's a journey into a world where nature reigns supreme and where the harmony between man and plant is nurtured. The allure of Hashimoto Plant Nursery extends beyond its historical significance. The products it offers are a testament to its commitment to excellence. Each plant, each pot, each gardening tool—every item within its walls is a testament to a commitment to quality that's evident in every detail. The verdant offerings are not just items for purchase; they're gateways to personal gardens, to blooming dreams, and to a greener world. And let's not forget the people who breathe life into this haven. The staff at Hashimoto are not just knowledgeable—they're passionate. Their willingness to guide, to advise, and to share their expertise is a reflection of the nursery's ethos of fostering a sense of community, of ensuring that each individual who walks through its gates departs with not just a purchase, but with newfound insights and a deeper connection to nature. As I wander through the aisles, my heart swells with gratitude and hope. Hashimoto Plant Nursery is more than just a place to buy plants; it's a sanctuary for the soul, a testament to the power of continuity in a world that's ever-changing. And so, I echo your sentiments, hoping and praying that this beacon of green resists the waves of development, that it continues to stand tall as a bastion of tradition, and that its heart continues to beat in harmony with the community it has embraced for so long.In summary, Hashimoto Plant Nursery isn't just a place—it's a sanctuary, a testament to resilience, and a celebration of community. The dedication of the owners, the quality of the offerings, and the sense of belonging it fosters are all woven together to create an experience that's as timeless as it is precious. It's not just a place to buy plants—it's a place to cultivate dreams, nourish roots, and stand in solidarity with an establishment that's a true gem in every sense of the word.

Hannah Donovan: Free parking, amazing plants, kind and caring staff! This place is a luscious garden oasis in the heart of Sawtelle Japantown. 🌿

Eric Lambden: The selection seems limitless and the quality is superior

Jake Southard: Awesome nursery! I’ve bought many plants here, and I’m actually heading back today for some potting soil.Big selection, helpful staff

B C: Very healthy succulents. Beautiful variety.

Jennifer Olivera: Really nice workers. Much better service than the nursery next door.

Roberta Fong: Variegated string of hearts in 6 inch hanging basket- very full for a fair price! Haven't seen one this size since prepandemic.

Alex Fortag: These people are lovely. I didn't get their names but I dealt with two women who were just angels. Two of my plants are sadly dying so I called them to ask if they would take a look at them and they said they would be happy to help me, I went in and they gave me advice free of charge. When I first arrived I accidentally went to a different nursery that's next door - they were rude and not helpful, they saw that my plants were dying and didn't even offer any guidance. Their loss because they could have converted me into a customer and now I will never shop there - they missed out on me buying a ton of things that I ended up needing. Hashimoto has such an incredible array of succulents, I can't wait to go back. They are the best and now I will only ever go there!

Christina Duphorn Zehnder: Expensive but they know their products.

Potted: what do users think?

Botanopia Plant Products: A lovely shop offering a diverse selection of plants and plant essentials! We're truly proud to have our Botanopia products available here!

elizabeth saucedo: I love this nursery!! Fyi: they moved a block down to 3216 Los Feliz, it took me a while to find them but I am so happy I did!!

Migzz: Nice selection of plants, pots, rugs, etc. good prices for quality items. Modern but still old school space.

Joe Bloe: Workers were friendly and very helpful, despite i think I came in right around closing time. Prices seem reasonable IMO.Another review said "would consider this a boutique nursery, but without inflated ego or prices." I couldn't have said it better myself.

Kirsten Alana Photography: So good, we went back twice in one day! I was amazed at how reasonable the prices are for a store that feels so high end and expertly curated. We visit a lot of plant places in greater LA and Potted is now close to the top for me because of the varied selection, reasonable prices, helpfulness of the staff, general vibe of the store inside as well as out and the quality of the plants themselves. I found a dress I adore [nice surprise at a plant and home decor store] and we found the perfect Ficus Audrey we’d been looking for for weeks. At a far more reasonable price than anywhere else. We will be back!

Danté Vincent: Visited for the first time yesterday and immediately it’s one of my favorite plant nurseries in LA! Great selection of plants, unique planters and gifts - and the staff are super nice and knowledgeable! Managed to find a perfect ficus audrey at a great price that fits perfectly in my space. Can’t wait to come back!

Jonathan Evans: Excellent selection at a premium price point. They carry a good variety of typical and rare plants, all of which are in display condition. You can tell they take the time to cherry pick the best of the best from their providers.

Matthew Galvez (KnittyMatt): this is a fun one stop shop for house plants! the have a great combination of common and unique plants, pots, and everything in-between.

Ryan Warner: Super friendly and helpful staff. Loved the quality of products and plant selection.

Lauren Oglesby: Highly recommend! I live on the East Coast and they went above and beyond to help me select and deliver a gift in L.A. The recipient loved it and the staff truly bent over backward to make everything perfect. Wonderful selection of plants and pots. I hope to visit in person someday!

Guy Harding: This place is great, LOVE IT ❤️

Joe Kling: Beautiful, authentic. Knowledgeable and helpful staff. I'd pay twice as much for people who take such pride in knowing what they're doing/selling.

Maddy Braat: I accidentally order the wrong thing online and customer service was quick to help me! Thanks y’all!!

Sunset Boulevard Nursery: what do users think?

Eric Wais: I love this place. Fair prices and the staff will bend over backwards to help you. Last time I brought in a bunch of custom planters and they repotted every plant I picked out into them free of charge. Saved me a days work. Honestly can't reccomend them enough.

Mike Bray: I LOVE THIS NURSERY!! I worked right next door for years before I ever went in and looked around. It seems deceptively tiny from the outside, but the variety and quality of plants, greenery, and landscaping supplies was astonishing and extraordinarily pleasing. Ground cover, flowering, trees, indoor, outdoor, garden, hanging, pots and planters, soils, amendments, and supplies...it's all here and attended by super friendly and helpful staff. The place is busy, parking is tight. The visit is worth it.

Karen: I always find so many lovely plants to add to the collection! Love this place

Eric Basta: Been going for years

Joshua Banks: cool people, good pot prices!

DANGANRONPAV3: Very friendly staff. They all have the passion of take caring of plants! Excellent shopping experience!

Kenneth Skipper-Dotta: Best nursery around, hands down.

Andrea Vogel: Great selection, customer service A+!

Yolande Wakeham: I came to sunset nursery on a recommendation from my friend and really loved this place! They have such a beautiful collection of happy, thriving plants and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Nick helped me pick out the perfect selection of plants for my home environment and my limited green thumb abilities. His knowledge was impressive and he was so patient with my endless questions. I love that they even pot the plants for you there! Perfect weekend outing! 😊👌

Ty William Nash: they have more variety and selections of outdoor/patio/indoor/select/choice/xeriscape heat resistant-drought tolerant species/multiple seed company inventory/Dramm irrigation products/garden tools and supplies …. in short , this store is the best Bona Fide Retail Nursery Outlet in Los Angeles. friendly staff, excellent service— load up - packaging customer take out - i give this store a five star rating. i’ve been a customer for more than 38 years, and no complaints . if you want a product that’s not in stock and they are on file with their company supplier , they’ll order it for you. The owner’s name is Dennis , tell him I sent you!…..

Plant Material: what do users think?

Gregory Stewart: Great small native plant nursery. Parking is hard, but if you’re in the area, it’s a great place to stop in and get some hard to find plants. It’s cozy, small and boutique like atmosphere make it a destination to shop for plants.

Sandra C: Had a great experience here. I was trying to get the carex pansa plugs for my California native lawn. I contacted them by email and they facilitated everything. I did some miss calculations so I had to keep going back for more. The plugs are growing in nicely too.

Sheryl Okuno: Buyer beware. I went to what I thought was a really cute little nursery today. They specialized in California natives. I saw a Staghorn fern that I so wanted. Priced really reasonable at $11.00. So I got it and also grabbed a Ceanothus for $12.00. I took the plants up to pay and was busy talking to my daughter. The lady rang them up and asked if I wanted a printed receipt. I said no and she gave me my credit card. I just got home and looked at the charge on my phone. Some how a purchase of $23.00 turned into a charge of $35.04. Taxes aren't that much in Glassell Park! Also got the plants home and noticed that the fern is infested with scales. They're not fern spores. The nursery is 45 mins away from me. And the store is already closed. I need to keep alert when buying stuff. But wanted to leave a review to make sure you know what your getting before leaving.Update: once the owners found out the plant I bought had a scale infestation, they gave me a refund a couple days later. The nursery is nice with a good selection of natuved. Just look closely at what you plan to buy.

Doreen Pierson: A very sweet place to buy native plants! Very helpful and knowledgeable. Just bought two California milkweed plants there.

Gonzalo C.: Good place to buy plants. It's small but they have a good selection.

Rick Reinhard: Small area, but very well stocked

Jonnie T: Great local nursery! Can’t wait to buy more cool stuff.

Danté Vincent: A blink and you’ll miss it type of location but definitely worth a stop if you’re a houseplant enthusiast or looking to pickup some supplies. Everything is nicely labeled and they have a great room in back filled with Japanese gardening supplies, local honey, seeds and more. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Will most certainly be coming back!

Kirsten Alana Photography: Absolutely love this unassuming plant store that’s so much more than just a place to buy plants. Amazing staff that were so patient with us in our indecision. Great selection of tools for gardeners and plant-lovers. Serene and calming. This will be on our regular rotation of places to shop now.

James Weiss: Small but nice selection of natives, however we were given poor advice for transplanting. We were told to water the hole and only water monthly the desert/full sun plants we bought. However the plants are grown in part shade and they have not tolerated full sun and have withered.. I hope they will survive. I would recommend going to Theodore Payne if you are serious about native gardening.

James Tuchel: Great little plant store!

Doug Williams: Heather and Matt have created a magical space with wonderful plants and a special atmosphere in the middle of the city. The staff is friendly and helpful. Go support small business! This group is awesome.

Jack Galanty: Great, local plant nursery! The staff there is extremely helpful and knowledgeable!

Joe Mendoza: I purchase a Sylvia

Jay's Plants: what do users think?

Jelli: The ONLY place I buy my plants. My favorite treat to take myself to.

DEAN AYALA: Excellent plants and prices!

Elo Romero: it’s hard not to, there’s parking right in back and some street parking too, it’s a fun place to be if you have any questions she’s always willing to help, if you’re looking for bigger plants they are in the back. Love this place :

Zuryan Jaramillo: Beautiful plants and great prices.

Dawn Roberts: This is a great shop. The plants are glowing and healthy and the owner really helped me find a perfect specimen-an indoor plant needing not much light. He also advised me about taking care of 2 large plants I bought elsewhere. I will come there again, really nice helpful people!

Debra Bethurum: Nice selection of healthy common indoor plants. I bought two large plants and thought I was getting a deal. Come to find out, the prices are the same as two nurseries near my home in the Inland Empire. On a funny note, I asked the gentleman who works there, "What type of plant is this?" while pointing to a specific plant. He answered, "A plant". I said, "Yes, but what kind of plant is it?" He said, "It's a plant" in Spanish. 😂

Joey T. (curlysaltandpepperLA): I like the store. My family's been going too for a long time and they are really nice. I don't really know much about plants but the vibes are always been good.

Naomi Rossodivito: Super cute hole in the wall plant shop in downtown Los Angeles with a wide variety and affordable plants!

Garrett F: . Be aware they only restock their inventory once a week, I believe it's on Wednesday morning. All of the coolest plants are gone by the end of the same day. If you go anytime between Friday and Tuesday, you'll be left with the typical run in the mill house plants

Diana Vivar: Nice prices and great costumer service. Only reason I gave 4 starts is because the plant selection is not too wide. Other than that I would recommend it.

Shara Johnson Castelo: Great quality plants!

Rose Marie: Very good prices! But you should have an idea of what you want beforehand. I would ask for the names of certain plants, to look up and know how to maintain them, and they wouldn't always know. But definitely cheaper than Lowe's & Home Depot!

Anna Avalos: Beautiful and affordable plants. The owners are very sweet!

Vi Thomas: Great spot for houseplants!

Dream Garden: what do users think?

Leslie Alexx: I always drive by this place and see a ton of really cool huge planters but never actually made it in, up until recently. I was in need of repotting my birds of paradise and needed a big planter so I walked in I was greeted by the gentleman that works there I believe he was the owner. Immediately greeted me asked if I needed help but I was kind of just poking around and wanted to explore so I looked around at first. Then when I wanted pricing he was super helpful I ended up buying three pots he explained to me that one pot that I had was actually created by hand and the little indents were actually made by thumbprints. I loved that he explained that, since I did like that pattern I thought it was a cool story once I got my pots I went inside his little office with a bunch of pots inside to pay with my card and to my surprise I saw on the corner of his desk a mini monstera! Love an unexpected surprise the rhaphidophora tetrasperma I had been looking for for literally the past 2 months from all the nurseries close to West Hollywood even a trip to the Flower District in Downtown LA I could not find this plant everyone kept telling me to come back around May because they would have some then that they hadn't seen them in years blah blah blah so I asked the gentleman if he had more of these and of course he walked me over to the greenhouse and I found a beautiful baby to take home FINALLY! So so happy with the selection and the pricing is absolutely phenomenal if you're looking for something that has a little bit of character I highly recommend going here for Planters the selection of plants was incredible 10/10

John Farrell: This is a gem. So glad I stopped by today. This is not a box store garden center. Here you’ll find unique plants and pots that will create real interest in your garden or home.I kept walking through over and over holding back from buying before researching. Time to do my homework and head back …tomorrow and I live 30 min away.

Tchan: This is my favorite plant nursery, the owner is super knowledgeable, great selection of plants and pots that are reasonably priced, offers to repot if you buy plant and pot.

rob richert: Very kind and helpful shop owner

Jane Edwina Seymour: Aptly named, Dream Garden is an oasis in an otherwise awful section of Sunset Blvd. It is very easy to get caught up in all the awesome plants, pots and assorted bits and pieces to do with your garden, both indoor and outdoor. It is tidy and easy to walk around and see everything. A bit on the pricey side but the quality and variety make up for that. Visit if you want incredible pots and wonderful advanced plants for home and garden.

Claudia Ayala: from this nursery and they're very beautiful and healthy. Would recommend visiting!

Kevin Peake: for my business Next Health. John delivered and planted it and it looks amazing! It is the perfect showcase for our storefront.

Hannah: All outdoors and very healthy and well taken care of plants. Very cute and creative pots ♡

Mike E.: , and how to care for them; he's very knowledgable. If you're looking for a place to purchase plants from, this is it!

Kennedy Lipskind: ! Has beautiful plants and even potted the one I got for me. Highly recommend visiting if you’re looking to brighten up a space and add some plants

Jan Christiansen: certainly deserves to be called the “Dream Garden”. As soon as you walk in, you’re immersed in towering, stunning plants: Bougainvillea, Mandevilla, flowering vines, exotic cacti, stunning trees unlike anything you’d see in the nursery section of the huge chains. There’s even an indoor greenhouse that feels like you’re in the rainforest. And if you need pots or planters, you’ll find a rare selection of some of the finest, high quality items I’ve ever seen. But perhaps what makes this place most special is the owner, John. I rarely write reviews, but because of his knowledge, and his kind nature and excellent customer service, I wanted to take the time to steer others his way. I’ve been gardening all forty years of my life, but in the several months that I’ve been coming to the Dream Garden, I’ve learned so much from him. He’s pointed me to a cutting edge soil that has even my most stubborn plants jumping for joy. He’s taught me proper feeding and watering regimes, and how best to plant certain notoriously tricky plants. As a result, the garden at my music studio is booming and always fetches me compliments-- see pictures below. If you’re looking for a place with exceptional quality, a knowledgeable and kind staff, a fantastic experience and fair prices, make sure to pop in for a visit at the Dream Garden!

Kevin McGuire: Great plants, very reasonable prices. Great pots and great staff!
