Not only are they affordable, but the piercers are experienced and ensure that your experience is as great and not painful as possible. I recently got a double helix here, and it didn't even hurt. It was like a 3 out of 10. I also had my septum and nostril pierced here too, and all healed beautifully. Oscar Montanez Jr: 3rd time visiting what is now The Fig Leaf previously June Jung on York, the new location is incredible and the humble staff is still very welcoming. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Becca on two different projects and she is a wonderful Neo-traditional artist. Can’t say enough about her work and of the studio. There are other great artists as well that specialize in other styles so definitely check them out. Rob is also deserving of praise for manning the fort and making the lobby wait comfortable. Definitely will be back in the future.

It had been a few years since I got any tattoos so I was feeling a little anxious, but the shop felt very welcoming and everyone I spoke to was very nice. Jenna made sure I was happy with the size/placement of my tattoo before we got started and ensured I was positioned comfortably throughout the appointment. I was offered water and snacks throughout the process as well, which I haven’t experienced at a shop before! Nathaniel Segura: Kaho was great throughout the entire process; he was very communicative during the design and scheduling portion, gave multiple options on designs/sizing, took extreme precision on placement, was meticulous on the details of the tattoo, offered plenty of breaks to stretch and refresh, and was very thorough about the healing aftercare. He has a great artistic eye when it comes to design and does a phenomenal job on brushwork. It was also one of the least painful tattoo sessions I've had so he would be great for those seeking their first tattoo.The shop itself also has a great vibe with its ambiance - very relaxed with burning incense, background music, and tons of decorations that I'm sure each has a unique story.I'll be coming back once I have more tattoo ideas and I highly recommend it for anyone else!

He had multiple challenges - a bit of cover up, my quite delicate skin and coming up with a design that would mesh with previous tats while taking the artwork in a fresh direction. I brought in a lot of concept images & ideas and we talked about what to do… he first did a rough sketch on my forearm and wrist and then began to work.Working completely freehand, he created a graceful, detailed, and shaded spectacular Japanese-influenced chrysanthemum. The funny thing is had I chosen a flower variety I probably would have started out with a peony, but after discussing with him, turns out it was the perfect image for the area. Rachel Menard: Rabble Rouser is a very cool and clean tattoo shop near Venice beach with a stable of amazing artists and so much interesting decor on the walls, it's easy to get distracted while you're getting inked, looking for all the hidden art gems.I recently got a tattoo from Alayna and gave her the direction of, "A kitten, but make it cute and angry." She did not disappoint. When I showed up for my appointment, she was ready with a page full of designs that were all so perfect, I had trouble deciding. Honestly, I would have gotten them all if I could have.I eventually chose one, and in less than an hour, she had it on my skin with perfect color and shading while chatting the entire time. To me that's the mark of a true professional, someone who is such an expert in their field, they can just do it on instinct.I am absolutely DELIGHTED with my tattoo and will definitely be back for another one next time I'm in the LA area. Just beware that her appointments fill up quickly because she is in such high demand, so book early!

sarah watson: My best friend and I got matching tattoos, and the experience couldn't have been more amazing! Our artist, Misfit, was lovely and was so wonderfully creative and collaborative. The shop is adorable and welcoming and clearly well run. Misfit did an absolutely outstanding job on both of our tattoos, with an eye for detail and clear delicate line work full of whimsy. Keri Stoever: A top-notch tattoo experience! I worked with Kellan and he was amazing. We modified my design quite a bit from my original idea and he was super collaborative and excited about my changes. Everyone else in the coffee shop and studio were super friendly and the check-in process was smooth. This was a milestone birthday tattoo and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and result!

Khalia Krusee: Tattoo artists are incredibly sweet, and very talented. The environment feels very safe and friendly, water is readily available if you need it, and the artists don't mind if you ask for rest breaks. I made positive conversation with everyone who was there at the same time as me. The artist I was there to see, Stanley, did an amazing job with my very tricky scar cover-up tattoo. Also, the aesthetic of this place is absolutely perfect, their interior design choices are really impressive. The green and pink floral theme is adorable.
Mercedez Higgins: Since moving to la supersweet is my go to shop! They make me feel at home and so comfortable, Mistfit is my go to artist and she absolutely kills it! I even brought myMom in who was against tattoos but seeing the tattoos I have on my body from misfit had changed her mind and got her first tattoo from her I can’t praise enough how much people should get tattoos here, come if you can I promise you won’t regret it!!

The colors and detail are phenomenal. I absolutely love it! Can't recommend her and Supersweet enough! And the coffee is pretty good too.
Rebecca Rodriguez: Cute little spot to get some coffee and a little snack. The coffee was intense and bold. The decor is super cute and totally put together. Loved the ambiance. Next time I’m going to try the chagatea drink. If you’re in the area and want to try something different, I recommend this place. Gave it a 4 bc they don’t have whipped cream for toppings.

If you’re there with someone, as many people take someone with them for support, they don’t let you go with them and they make you sit in their uncomfortable lobby. They don’t let you use their restroom either. I sat for fours hours, just waiting. Had to cross the street in the rain to use Starbucks bathroom.

Captain Kirk: Dark horse is the BEST tattoo shop. My artist is Camille and I will never find anyone else like her. She is down for anything, extremely accommodating, kind, and insanely talented. These are freshly healed of my back piece and one year healed!! She drew this piece directly onto my body so it’s not only original and one of a kind, but it flows with the natural shape of the body. She’s a genius. I am absolutely in love with this piece and will get more in the future from Camille

Drake: Service was excellent! LA parking is a bit of an issue, but the staff told me options nearby when I called in the area. They even covered for me during my session when I parked across the street at a meter! Adam was super easy to work with and put together the perfect sketch for my design off a few images in one go! Highly recommend.

Its a clean and professional space. You are well taken care of. Individually the artists create amazing work, but Adam is my got to. His art and tattoos speak for themself. His work is consistent in clean lines and beautiful shading yet he’s always coming up with new and different designs. Definitely a shop you want to go to.

As someone new to getting tattooed, Dark Horse has always been welcoming to me and I will always come back. Lou Breininger: Highly recommend! The shop is friendly, professional, and laid back. Camille at Dark Horse is the best! She's done a lot of my tattoos and collaborating with her on new ideas is really fun. Her flash is pretty rad too. All her work is detailed and inventive. She always nails the placements - I feel like my tattoos really move with my body. She has a really soft touch, so if you are getting your first tattoo or are very pain sensitive I would highly recommend her.
