House of Hardwood: what do users think?

Forest Cummings-Taylor: Awesome shop. Check out their clearance section if you’re interested in small craft projects.

David Cardinal: We had House of Hardwood custom make us a table top. 100% thrilled with the end product! On time, crate packaged, perfect execution. I would 100% recommend!!

Noah: Working with Ryan and Scott at House of Hardwood on building a custom island table has been an amazing process from start to finish. They were super friendly, communicative, and professional the whole way through. I had a specific idea in mind and they answered all of my questions and worked with me to pick the right wood, oil and sizing to fit my needs. Ryan was the main craftsman I worked with and he is one of the nicest and most talented people I've met.The final product is one of the most amazing pieces of furniture I've ever seen and is EXACTLY how I had envisioned it from the concept phase. For any custom furniture needs, you cannot go wrong.

Chuck Itall: Just discoverd them, staff is really great.Got what I needed and for artists and craftsmen this place is a treasure and hidden gem.I'm building a custome one of a kind musical instrument for a television series and they had the wood I needed..Cheers

Sean S. Ravaei: Amazing selection of wood, so many different varieties. A great find.

Kurt Gary: I have been a client/customer for over 35 years-from their shop on Pontius, to the move to shop of Venice to their current location. They have always treated me fairly, done excellent millwork and charged fair prices. This is a retail store-do not expect wholesale pricing.

David Gumpel: Scott and the team at House of Hardwood helped us build a custom dining table and did a phenomenal job taking it from concept to reality. We had a good idea of what we wanted but played with different woods, paints, and stains to see which would get the perfect color while keeping the beautiful wood grain. We also included the brass inlay and played with several designs for the legs until we got it just right. Throughout the process HoH was very responsive and ensured we all were on the same page so no surprises when it came to reviewing the final product before delivery. Highly recommend them for any custom furniture

Jennifer Patino: Very helpful, great customer service! We walked in and they were able to cut a slab of live edge for us right on the spot. Amazing guys!!

Tracey's Place: I brought blueprints of a Flatbed Platform bedframe from a designer to the "House of Hardwood" and they millworked that bed frame into perfect dimensions/shape. After 18 years, I continue to hear compliments from people who see my bed design.

David Slijper: Resolved my dispute about some wood cuts in a reasonable way. Good shop to buy from.

Aaron Girard: So much hard wood.

Sully Restoration: Very friendly team, always here to help.In our every day working as antique furniture restorers, we trust House of Hardwood for their choice of wood.We often have to make grafting and we always find the missing pieces of wood we need.Thank you very much for helping us doing our job!

Joe Carl: Definitely going back for all my hardwood needs, customer service is fantastic. Thanks again gentlemen for your knowledge!

Michael Herbert: Great selection!

Bohnhoff Lumber Co: what do users think?

John Graves: Been going here for years to buy our stock. Best selection and prices in LA -- the oldest lumber yard in town. It's located in ugly, industrial Vernon but WELL worth the drive even though it takes me an hour to get there. Everything is stacked so they've got forklift operators to pull the stock down for you, horizontally stacked. The setup is wholesale, not retail. But anybody can come in and put some fiber in their diet. The stock is not surfaced, so when you want 8/4 maple, THAT'S what you're gonna get, a full 2 inches or better. 4/4 stock is an inch thick, but rough. Also they have some unusually thick sizes in many stocks, from 10/4 to 12/4 and beyond. Definitely worth a visit, but a good idea to call ahead.

Gary Indiana: Best lumber yard in LA, maybe anywhere.

Michael Martin: Bonhoff has been the go-to for three generations of woodworkers in my family. Their selection is amazing, including exotics and live-edge slabs. Their staff is professional and knowledgeable, and will work with you to get the cuts you need. They also provide milling and cut-to-length service.

Romain Jouandeau: Great experience, they helped me find the best solution for my needs, all within my budget!

Finneus: Owner takes pride on the business

Janice Lee: Gotta love this place. Everyone working there are super nice and helpful from start to finish. Answered every question, super down to earth. Can't say better things about this place. 6 out of 5 stars!!!

Stefan Kusurelis: Great place for anything lumber related with a very helpful staff.

Alfredo Aispuro: Excellent customer service employees were nice

Joshua Jackson: As a local furniture maker, I have been going to Bohnhoff for 10+ years and can't say enough good things about this place. The pricing is certainly competitive or better than most of the lumber yards in Los Angeles. In addition, the quality of the lumber is off the charts. They typically have wide stock in most common wood species and offer different grades from #1 common to FAS to premium. I almost always have multiple options to choose from. They also allow you to hand select the lumber, which allows me to really take my time to choose through the boards that work best for each project. And, finally, the crew outside and inside are great to work with and always attentive and on top of the operations. Thanks to Mike and the rest of the crew!

Alec Melkonian: Great stuff, a little overpriced.

Derek Klaas: and they have it rough. The service is superior just like the grade of walnut I buy from them.

Hermes Giovanni Pineda Cali: EXCELLENT SERVICE. GREAT EXISTENCE OF EXOTIC WOODS. 💯👍🏻

Steve Felty: Incredible selection! As a guest time customer I got the impression they typically deal with larger customers, but I interacted with 5 people and every person went out of their way to greet me and make sure I found what I needed, each made me feel welcome. To my delight, they even have a special area for their 'smalls' which are either short pieces or less than perfect ALL at discounted prices. The yard guys amazingly seem to know where to find anything, after you walk their huge yard you will better understand why that is so amazing. I'll definitely be back.I should point out they sell by the board foot, so if your not familiar with true hardwood lumberyards then I recommend you take a few minutes to learn before your visit.

K Aug: You have to get an appointment now, which is frustrating when drive all the way there without knowing that. But their service is great and they are the only lumberyard around that lets individuals purchase rough lumber.

Rockler Woodworking and Hardware - Pasadena: what do users think?

Bobby Coyote: Saddest day as I walked up to find my favorite place empty and about to close for good. To Don- Thanks for being so kind and helpful today, I hope your new chapter is filled with all the good things, despite this travesty. May the wood gods bless you!!!

Janis Cavanaugh: I had to make one last trip to say goodbye to Don. He always made my visits enjoyable. Goodbye Pasadena Rockler!

Eder Orellana: I love this place. This is my go to location, its a shame its being closed. Now I have to decide whether to drive an hour to orange or Ontario. I hope there's another location near Pasadena in the future for Rockler woodworking.

Janet Shepard: LOVE THIS STORE!! PLEASE OPEN ANOTHER ONE IN THE AREA!

Mat Stovall: Read this location is closing. Will be very sad to see it go.

Jim Mallory: The service is always excellent, the inventory is always lacking when it comes to cabinet hinges. I needed 21 pairs and the shelf had 20. I had to go online and pay 30% more for one pair to fill my needs. Had I ordered all of them online, I could've had a nice discount, but that would've delayed the job too. Can't win in this situation.

Michael Carter: As always, very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable staff. It will be a great loss when the Pasadena store closes its doors in the coming weeks!!!

Mark Harvis: Great store. Terrific employees. Shame you are closing it. There is no other similar store in the area. Customers are unhappy. Very unhappy.

Obi C: Rockler has a great selection of products and I’m amazed at how they can fit it all in the smaller shops. Prices are pretty good and it’s always fun to walk around and check out the be interesting inventory. It’s a great “candy shop“ and always a fun way to spend some time.

Jesse Flores: Great store and friendly service, I always find what I need and great monthly specials 👍

John Kalandjian: They’re very helpful and nice with items I was looking for above and beyond thank you all.

Jameson Rollins: Everyone there is super helpful. It's a real crying shame that this location is shutting down, it makes me very sad.

James Barros: Pasadena Rockler is my go to spot for woodworking supplies. They are knowledgable, patient, and willing to help us newbs learn the ropes and keep all our fingers in working order. A+++

RayK: always nice people and friendly service.

Rockler Woodworking and Hardware - Torrance: what do users think?

Frank Godino: I have been to the Rockler in Redondo Beach a few times, and I’ve always been met with helpful, knowledgeable staff. I just found out that store will be closing in the near future, for whatever reason. It’s a shame to see the brick and mortar stores close, as is the case with many others due to extremely poor running of both state and nation, which affects these businesses.

Joel Steingold: A big shout out to the staff at Torrance Rockler, especially to Mark on this trip. Mark is always cheerful, and wanting to help. He is an all around excellent employee and a great guy.

Jay Bruder: The product I was looking for was in stock. The sales person was friendly and helpful.

Slavko Antolos: that had no idea about epoxy work. Made the entire class fell at ease and now I think I am going to give it a try by myself. Then after class made a few purchases and the manager Paul was very helpful and answered my questions in a way that many of us would feel very comfortable with. Really enjoyed the experience and plan to take a few more classes in the future. Thank you Rockler!!

Tony D: I used to call Rockler Torrance, CA my toy story. I still enjoy going in and making a purchase or two. There has been a big turn over in staff since manager Lou Barcelo left. Not to say I don't like the current crew, I do. They are friendly and helpful. BUT, since Covid struck, no more coffee and donuts on Saturdays and forget about in store demos.

Steve Danjou: Went to pick up a new sander and some router bits. Employee was helpful as always. Found tue sander right away and picked up a couple bits but the 60 degree bits were way too much. They have been pricing that bit up because we need it for engraving. Definitely not worth $34 for that bit. Then when you go to check out, you have to deal with the mandatory up sale try for the ‘tool of the month’. I only go to Rockler now when I need something they have that no one has or in the rare times they are cheaper. I hate getting the up sale at the register. So annoying and insulting. ‘Hey, I know you are a woodworker but let me seep you this silicone glue brush no one other than a new woodworker would use’….’how about the 3 in 1 marking tool that will break within a month’. I’d rather go to other stores rather than being treated like an idiot.

L K: Rockler Torrance always delivers a first rate customer service experience, products are just as good. Love this store.

Ken Falasco: Enjoyed my visit. Product was available and received very helpful assistance.

Tom Tanaka: I’m a few years into woodworking as a hobby. The guys at Rockler are extremely knowledgeable and helpful in helping me build my shop. They always help me with recommendations on how to build my projects. They are a great resource for woodworkers!

Wayne Ziegelemyer: Great service. Awesome people!

Timothy Olinger: Very helpful and knowledgeable. Willy was a big help.

Nicole M: so you get unlimited personal attention. I've taken classes from Willie, Lee, Char, and Tom and couldn't be happier with how much I learned and how much fun I had. With the ring making, especially, I couldn't believe how easy Char made the process and how beautiful the final product was!The people here are so wonderful. I've had wonderful interactions with everyone who works there and, in addition to the instructors I've named above, both Joe and Paul have also been super helpful. Honestly, sometimes I stop by this store just to chat with Willie and Lee because they are so cool. They never try to sell us on anything, but my husband and I can't help but leave with a purchase each time. You can come in here with literally any question about a project you've got in mind and they will make sure you are headed in the right direction.

louilis: Wonderful crew

Subrina Pena: Clean and organized. Very helpful and knowledgeable associates. They also offer wood working classes which sound like a great opportunity.

RcRABS: Love this place. Went by to see if they had lamp kits to build. Spent a good amount of time looking at all their products.

R J: Nice little woodwork hardware store. Visited this store to find parts for pens and pen making kits. I was surprised on the stuff they had. Must check them out if you have any carpentry projects.

Parkman Woodworks: what do users think?

Janine Ying: . In an effort to resolve our workspace issues, maximize our shared office space, and ensure that my husband would still love our replacement desk, I started researching custom desks for our office. This search ultimately led us to Parkman Woodworks. Our experience with all of the people at Parkman Woodworks, from Graham to the master wood and metalworkers, was AMAZING from start to finish! My husband and I met with Graham to provide him with our initial desk design, select our wood choice

Zach: For things in my house, I want to buy it for life. I wanted to buy a custom extra long desk for me and my wife to share, and I knew I needed a carpenter/woodworker for that. The choices in Los Angeles are not abundant, and I went to a few places before Parkman that didn't seem to care about my particular needs or vision. When I contacted Parkman, I knew that I found the right team to handle the project. It was such a simple concept. I wanted to provide the XL standing desk hardware, and have a woodworker fabricate a beautiful table top to install with it. I didn't want to purchase the standard mass manufactured engineered surfaces that would just deteriorate with time. I didn't want to deal with replacing things every few years anymore. Graham at Parkman understood perfectly. He also understood just how particular I was about materials.I scheduled and visited the shop in person, and we discussed my visions for materials, finish, and aesthetics. Graham showed me what kind of materials they had on hand, the finished pieces they had representing the variety of use cases for them, and exactly what kind of aesthetics they could provide. He walked me through the process of how they work with local sources to procure reclaimed, naturally fallen, California native woods. We discussed what wood tones and grain structures I would like to use, and Graham gave me clear expectations of how long it would take to find the perfect slabs to match my requests. In the end, I wanted to go with light to medium toned -with purple accents- naturally fallen sycamore woods, and I especially wanted as many edge grained medullary rays as I could get in the boards, because it is such a beautiful texture to look at. We also collaborated to define the ideal dimensions for the surface and accents needed for the project. Graham took detailed notes the whole way through. He gave me my estimate, which I believed more than fair for the job, and he even negotiated the project lead time with me to fit with my expectations.I ordered my standing desk hardware directly to the shop. Over the next 6 weeks, we were routinely in contact to discuss details ranging from the wood shipments they received to review if it matched my expectations, to more particular changes of heart I had about how to do the finishings on the table. Through the entire process, Graham was very accommodating and willing to work with me as my ideas changed. I made the final decisions on everything, down to the exact wood slabs used for the table, and how they were matched. After everything was set and final, his crew did the full assembly and installation of desk and hardware, and they hand delivered it straight to my home, where it sits now.The standing desk manufacturer even failed to supply some of my requested extras, and Parkman personally got in contact with the company and handled the RMAs to receive it and install before my scheduled delivery. I didn't have to deal with the customer service side at all, and they weren't even the original purchasers of the hardware, they just wanted to provide excellent services as intended, with no hassle. The desk is beautiful. It is exactly as I wanted it. It will last forever. I never would have gotten the vision in my head brought into reality without Parkman, and honestly, my original vision wasn't even as good as this final product turned out to be. It only became this perfect because of the collaboration and effort of the team at Parkman, especially Graham.Thank you so much for this, and I will definitely be returning for more BUY IT FOR LIFE projects with your team in the very near future. If you are reading this and had doubts about working with Parkman, let this be the final note that helps you make the decision to do so. You won't be disappointed.Sincerely,Zach, An Extremely Satisfied Client

Marcy Wimbish: We needed 2 coffee tables with very detailed size and style specifications. Graham worked with us to design tables that were perfect for our space and needs. They even used the type of wood and stain we requested to match our cabinets. The tables are solid and meticulously made. They are gorgeous and such high quality. Highly recommend.

Neela Hummel: Obsessed with my new table! I had a great experience working with Graham, and I have already gotten so many compliments on the table. We went with naturally fallen elm to seat 10 people. The quality is exceptional, delivery was easy. I'm in love!

Luke Ryan: Parkman Woodworks is 100%, hands-down, THE BEST custom furniture maker in LA--and I'd bet in the world. From start to finish they were creative, responsive, and all-around experts. We were looking to design a pair of bar stools that needed to be an uncommon height. From the first moment we walked into the workshop, Graham was so kind and inviting and clever with ideas for how they could build the perfect stools. And the final product--amazing! We love them, the stools are exactly what we were hoping for, and Graham and Parkman Woodworks made the whole process easy and efficient and great. We cannot recommend Parkman Woodworks high enough! You will not be disappointed in their ready-made pieces or a custom order. Just do it!

Dan Thompson: Parkman built a dining table for my family, and it is absolutely gorgeous. Work with Parkman if want a table you can use for a lifetime.

Anthony Sixto: Positive:Professionalism,Punctuality,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueTop notch craftsmenship. Beautifully done desk that feels great and will be with my home for a very long time. Very communicative and detailed through out the process.

Brooke Goodbary: , it was well worth it. Don’t buy a cheap mass produced product, their pieces will last a lifetime.

Ella Boyajian: When our family business needed a custom made 13 foot conference table before an important client visit, I figured it would be impossible to construct in less than 3 weeks - but Parkman could and did! We worked with Graham who was incredibly friendly, professional, communicative and an overall hero. The custom conference table is stunning and was delivered and assembled seamlessly the day before the big meeting. 10 out of 10 would recommend.Services:Table construction installation,Woodworking,Custom furniture

They were not only incredibly professional, promptly responsive, and helpful - they delivered the most BEAUTIFUL table. They were also honest - After designing my table with one set of legs, they thought it looked awkward - and instead of just making it, gave me so many more options, which I beyond appreciated! Graham and team were responsive and helpful and my new table is beautiful! They even helped me get it shipped fully assembled from LA to Chicago without issue, and sent me pictures of it prior to shipping. Top notch custom woodworking business!

ramon torres: .The table arrived in 3.5 months and I've spent the last few days working, eating, and hanging out at the dining table - literally only at the dining table. LA Woodshop: what do users think?

Mel C: I had a fantastic time taking the Picture Frames class with Todd and Cam over the weekend. Todd is great at explaining all the information and has a bunch of knowledge about wood and woodworking, while Cam was always teaching us different ways to do what Todd was explaining and also has a bunch of knowledge about wood and woodworking. Safety is always a priority here and I highly recommend taking their classes! Also it's super fun and satisfying to put some wood together to make an object.

Zachary Schiff: Very good very nice! Everyone who was working there for my intro class was very nice, competent, and encouraging. Awesome space, highly recommend if you're trying to learn the basics or do something more advanced!

JON KOHAN: thanks yall. I look forward to more

Nicholas Lydon: Fantastic class and fantastic instructors. I’d recommend this to anyone that has an interest in woodworking. You definitely do not need to know anything going into it, and the instructors are fantastic about answering any sort of questions you have about the topic, even if it’s about a topic outside of that specific session. Would definitely go again!

Michael Licht: Such a great experience. Thank you everyone at LA Woodshop for providing an informative and FUN class.

Lian Han: I recently took the introduction cutting board class at LA woodshop and I would recommend it to groups and individuals who are looking to get into woodworking, understand the key tools and steps to prep wood and get exposure to a shop environment. The teaching team was warm, knowledgeable and hands-on while still providing space and room to play and ask questions. The session is all day, but the time flies by especially if you have a good group of fellow students. Thanks LA Woodshop! I'll be back for more

Joshua Lynn: I had a great experience with LA Woodshop’s bowl turning class. Nat was patient and encouraging. I’ll definitely take more classes with them!

Laura Temming: I recently took the Intro to Woodworking class at LA Woodshop and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in learning the "basics" of the form. Our group of ten started with a raw piece of wood and worked around the entire shop, beginning with the joiner all the way through to finishing with mineral oil.Todd, Kim and Cam kept the day moving quickly and safely, covering a lot information and providing practical guidance while keeping the process fun, and providing guardrails to assist us students in ideating and developing our finished product.I'm looking forward to taking more of their class offerings in the future. They really do a wonderful job.

Linda Capetillo-Cunliffe: Took a fantastic magnetic knife rack class at LA Woodshop. I highly recommend their class. The staff are patient and knowledgable. It's a relaxed environment and informative class. I will definitely take another class here.

Patrick Temming: Had a great time at the intro class. Kim, Cam and Todd were all amazing. All three were patient, funny and generous with their time. I won’t look at soda straws the same again.

Esteban Arguello: I took the intro to woodworking class and it was a lovely time. Over the course of a day we learned how to make a cutting board using a jointer, planner, table saw, mitre saw, band saw, and belt sander. Really came away with a complete understanding of may of the tools in the woodshop. Would recommend to anyone interested in woodworking.

Sara White: A truly wonderful afternoon with excellent teachers. Gained knowledge and appreciation and looking forward to taking another class!

Ali Beikzade: I recently rolled out of bed on a Sunday morning, feeling like I'd lost an hour of precious sleep thanks to the time change. But let me tell you, the woodworking training class at LA Woodshop made that early start totally worth it!Todd, our trainer, is not just a woodworking whiz but also a comedian in disguise. He had us in stitches with his jokes while teaching us the ins and outs of woodworking. When it came to safety, though, Todd's serious side came out, and he made sure we understood just how important it is to work safely.Kim and Briana were like woodworking encyclopedias, patiently answering all my questions, no matter how silly they seemed and helped me through completing my first wooden project. Thanks to Todd's guidance, I now feel more confident to start my woodworking projects at home. He covered everything from basic machines to safety tips and even recommended me some great learning resources. The only downside? The class was only for a day! I wish there were more weekend classes like this one. If you're thinking about getting into woodworking, I can't recommend LA Woodshop enough. They're cool, they're funny, and most importantly, they know their stuff!

Jasmine Pierce: Great class, great environment, learned a lot.

Scott Peragine: I can't recommend LA Woodshop enough! After some light dabbling in simple DIY home projects, I took the Intro to Woodworking class to become more knowledgeable and confident about working with wood. The class walked us through the milling process, cutting/shaping, and finishing, and I successfully turned a block of raw cherry wood into a cutting board that I'm pretty proud of.There were 3 instructors for an 11 person class so there was a good teaching ratio, and the staff did a perfect job of explaining how to use various saws/sanders/etc safely and comfortably. I'd definitely consider taking another class to continue what I think will be a very fun new hobby and skill!

R Mercer: The Intro to Woodworking class was great. I learned so much relative to overall workshop safety specific to tool use, and received great hands-on training on the use of the various woodshop machines/tools. I have more confidence with the table saw, and a better understanding of it's use. I received valuable training on the milling process, which included the proper use of the jointer and thickness planer. I was especially appreciative of the guidance the instructors provided in the operation of the bandsaw, thickness planer, and drill press as I recently acquired all three tools. I left with a better understanding of the characteristers of various types of wood. I learned so much in this one day class, too much to list all of the details in this review. I highly recommend LA Woodshop for classes. Todd, Jim, and Kim were all very helpfull and informative, and very patient. Their easy demeanor put everyone at ease wherein they were able to assist those who were particalrly intimidated by the machines. If you are one of those individuals then LA Woodshop is just right for you.I also signed up for the Practical Cabinet Making class and am very much looking forward to working with the instructors in enhancing my knowledge and skills in woodworking.LA Woodshop is a great place to start with very welcoming staff.

Christopher Foster: This was the most fun I’ve had in a long time. Where’s the 10 Stars button? The teachers are amazing! Knowledgeable, funny, patient, and so helpful! I’m definitely going back for more classes. Bonus: shop dog Sailor is a cutie!

Max Skelly: Had a really great time doing the intro class! Would love to do more, especially if longer-term weekend classes open up!

Gisela Salazar: Had the best time in the intro course! They all are very professional and knowledgeable, will definitely recommend and will be coming back for more courses!

Angel City Lumber: what do users think?

Matthew Kleiman: Super helpful with my wood carving project. Plus their business model is great.

박재범: This place is assume. Super kind, super helpful.

Simon N: Great pieces of natural wood

Eileen Engelberg: We loved this place! We were looking to do a pretty complex wood cutting job and Loews and Home Depot were rude and unhelpful. The staff spent so much time with us helping to find the right wood and were willing to help us with all of the cuts we need. Their pricing is super reasonable. They have so many beautiful pieces of wood available for home projects. Definitely would go here first over a typical hardware store

Emily D: I had a great experience after speaking with the professionals there. They listened to my project requirements and gave me a thorough breakdown of the best options to use for lumber given the materials available. I came in new to wood projects and they made me feel comfortable asking the stupid questions by sharing thorough answers and feedback. The warehouse itself is a visually stunning layout of wood, with prices and name tags of each piece. Their mission to recycle and revitalize the community through felled wood is felt across conversation and way they conduct business. They care about customer vision and if they aren't a good fit, they'll recommend neighboring businesses. Highly recommend!

Tom Sutherland: These guys are awesome! Jesse was really nice to work with and was very professional and knowledgeable. I sent him a sketch of my design and he came back to me with pricing and the process needed to make my project come to life. Thanks again - will definitely be back!

John Robb: Had a great first experience today at Angel City Lumber buying wood for a gate I’m making. Jesse was super helpful and very patient with all my questions. I’ll definitely be coming back again.

Joshua LaCross: The people there are great. Nice selection of slabs. I'll be going here more in the future.

Whitt's Wood Yard: what do users think?

Michael D: Buy wood here every year. Great service!!!!

Jefferson L: Friendly, efficient drive-thru service. I was able to pickup walnut wood, which was perfect for pitfire grilling. The yard is exposed so the wood was a little moist from recent rain but the guy picked out some of the drier stuff for us. Not exactly cheap, but you're paying for convenience. They also have huge bags of mesquite coals if you need. Pull in from Pico and exit Cotner.

Sergio Gonzalez: Awesome selection of wood at great reasonable prices. Great staff, always very helpful.

oscar guevara: Great fast service and great prices.

Tim McMahon: These guys are always really nice, good prices, and a good selection of different wood.

A&G Finishing: what do users think?

Matt D.: Mark came out to give me an estimate on refinishing my kitchen cabinets. They needed it after 60+ years! My kitchen project was located in a historically designated mid-century modern condominium in Pasadena designed by the noted developer, Lionel Mayell. The kitchen wasn’t elaborate in size but had interesting features including all original built-in appliances. I decided it was time rehabilitate the kitchen but wanted keep all the original historic cabinet features. Mark was able to help me carry out that vision with a complete refinishing of all the original cabinetry.I wanted the new stain to show the beautiful ash wood graining but still work with the mid-mod cabinetry hardware and pulls. Mark carefully described the process necessary to recreate a new taupe-color stain for the original blond ash cabinets. He was even able to repair damage caused over 60 years to some veneer to the point where you couldn’t tell it had been “repaired.” I also put in a new quartz top replacing the old Formica countertop and my project to sensitively preserve a historic small kitchen was complete!Mark was able to do the job, explain costs, and provide me with adequate timelines for completion. All this even through a pandemic lockdown!

Ginny Nugent: Mark and his team made my 20 year old maple kitchen cabinets look new again! He did a great job refinishing the cabinets and matching the original color. He restored the beauty of the wood. His team was on time and kept a very clean work area. In addition, his bid was spot on and they finished on time. I was very pleased with the result and would recommend them without reservation.

Danna Bissing: , details, he took final measurements then sent me a firm quote. We agreed to a start date and timeline after he explained the entire process. He and his team were very knowledgeable, trustworthy, good communicators and in general, enjoyable to work with. The cabinets turned out beautifully. We liked Mark so much we are hiring him now to do work on another project. He's good. Don't hesitate to call him!

David Landau: Mark restored and did a piano mirror gloss paint finish to a buffet which was a family heirloom piece. It had a lot of sentimental value. The work he did was that of a serious craftsman. And while Mark is serious about his work I found him to be a very funny and personable guy, which I also appreciate. I wouldn’t hesitate to have Mark work on other projects in our home. A high recommend.

A Sanchez: Mark is an expert in his field and does amazing work. I had no idea refacing the kitchen cabinets could make such a difference! I couldn’t believe it was the same place, it looked like the whole kitchen had been updated.I highly recommend him.

Dave Cogan: Mark built a cabinet for our entry way that was precisely as we'd envisioned it. He incorporated every detail we asked for and the result came out amazing. We'll definitely look to use A&G Finishing for future projects.

lina costilla: My kitchen looks stunning.I can't believe the difference my kitchen refaceing made in my house. I'm happy to have had my kitchen refaced by A&G finishing,. They were friendly and very knolewdgeable. We used the existing cabinet boxes since they were in good condition and replaced with all New doors, drawers and hard ware. The transformation was amazing and happy to have stayed within my budget. Definitely Will use in future.

Vicente Ruiz: Mark and his team did great work on refinishing our old kitchen . My wife and I never thought our kitchen could look so magnificent. It transformed the look and feeling of our whole house. Mark truly cares for his work, making sure we were satisfied every step of the way. The price and schedule were also as promised.

Paula Anzaldo: Happy to have worked with A&G Finishing. Mark was very knowledgeable and helpful in refacing and finishing our kitchen cabinets. We love the results, our kitchen looks amazing!

Ross Alan Reclaimed Lumber: what do users think?

Narek Sargsyan: Great experience buying from here. The owner was very knowledgeable and friendly, and helped me in picking out beautiful reclaimed oak for my project. Great lumber shop to check out, hope to be back soon

Sherakee: Friendly and exceptionally helpful, and when it was clear I was asking for information only, the true colors came out. With no dollars to be made off me, it was obvious to me and/or absolutely anyone else that these people are the genuine article when it comes to their truth and ideals, the real McCoys being entirely dedicated to their ideals, in love with every day and every action taken, joy in their choice of being the "Good refusing to stand by and do nothing", intent on the preservation of life on our planet.

Reedith Graham: Great little place if you're looking for reclaimed lumber found the boards I was looking for for a shelving project on a reclaimed lumber wall

Parviz Esmail: Service excellent! The time, the 'speak', & consideration given was truly patient, informative, and respectful. Thank you.

Marcos Ramos: They had some great specials on smaller pieces of lumber when I walked in! $2!!!

Cathryn Farnsworth: I love this place. Everyone who works there has such an incredible spirit. I love how reclaimed wood has become a lasting trend, as normally, this wood would have been discarded and not used again. They source fantastic wood for your own creations, but they also craft furniture, ceilings, wall accents. Amazing talent. Plus, I love supporting a true ma and pa shop.

Lloyd T: Talk to Ross. You can't go wrong. They have new lumber in.

Justin Roff-Marsh: Great to visit and hang out with woodworking geeks!

Barbara Gayle: We have many 3 different purchases at Ross Alan and it has always been a wonderful experience getting one of a kind pieces and look to do more projects with them in the future.

Emily Strawn: Amazing customer service. Very helpful with my project and an amazing selection of wood

Andrew Gerberi: Ross, Georgie, Darrin, and seriously the entire crew here are so accommodating and helpful. I needed a few custom wood sections in an upcoming series of projects and they were on top of it every step of the way.Ross Alan Reclaimed is truly the epitome of what a mom & pop shop should be. They are such a gem in the rough in an industry full of uncertainty and change.I can't wait to work with them again on future projects!

Sigifredo Guardado: Completed my bedroom with this beautiful wood everyone loves it

jenifer felan: Simply AMAZING and the best!

Noll Construction Solutions: what do users think?

E W: I had a really hard time finding someone for my project. Thank goodness that LONG road took me to Brandon. He was the exact right person - thoughtful, creative, efficient, and hard-working. And he’s a great person on top of it all. You couldn’t do any better for good quality solutions to tricky situations!Service:Home renovations

Robert Eujean Ogden: It was an absolute pleasure to work with Brandon and his crew. He installed a new beautiful fence at our home. He is hard working, honest, and polite. He has a solution for anything as well as creative suggestions based on both function and aesthetic. He is a very rare find in an ocean of LA’s shady contractors who do poor work for gauging prices. We will certainly be hiring him again for any of our home improvement needs.

Lora Han: I called Brandon to repair/replace a gate at my new place. Immediately after meeting him, I felt comfortable with Brandon and a sense of trust. Brandon is an honest guy who takes pride in his work and is a perfectionist. He didn't rush my project, took his time, and my gate came out perfect - better than expected! You can tell that he's not out there trying to scam people and make as much money as possible. He even fit me into his schedule right away because I told him it was important for me to get this gate fixed asap. He showed up on time, finished as scheduled, and he's genuinely just a cool guy! Now, I've already got him working on additional estimates for other projects! Yes, that's how pleased I am. I no longer need to find anyone else to work with. I can't recommend him enough!!!

Matt Ruskin: Brandon was professional, reliable, skilled and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend him and his company.

Natalie Fong: Gorgeous new redwood fence in a matter of days!55 feet of wooden fence fell in one piece after recent heavy winds. I got quotes from 4 carpenters/contractors and went with Noll Construction. Brandon came out on Monday to access and discuss options and by Friday the fence was complete. He was good about updating the progress and sending photos as I wasn't home during the process. His worker damaged my mailbox backing into the driveway and while this was a bit of an inconvenience, after I located a replacement, Brandon promptly installed and secured it.Very happy with the new fence!

Laura Goldberg: Brandon and his team just finished 2 beautiful fences for my property. They are long and twisty as I have a sort of hillside property. Throughout the entire process Brandon was professional, thoughtful and attentive. He’s incredibly detail oriented and thorough. He would regularly send me text updates if I wasn’t around while he was working. I found this to be very helpful. His guys are timely, courteous and clean. The final product is fantastic, I couldn’t be happier. I recommend Noll Construction without any reservation. Just wish I had more projects for them to do!

Stacy Gordon: I am very happy with the work Brandon and his team did on the fence for my backyard and side yard areas. My back neighbor and I have been discussing a fence between our properties for a few years, and Brandon came recommended. The work was done on schedule, during the timeframe discussed, and the work areas were always cleaned up and neat at the end of each day. Brandon and his team even hauled away the junk in the backyard left from the previous owner. Very happy with my fences and would absolutely use Brandon’s services again!

Abbey Morris: .Enter Brandon, who not only filled in the enormous crack, but also dry packed it and fortified our foundation when he didn't have to. He resealed a cutout on our bedroom's siding and repainted it to match the house's color. He also discovered two leaks that he said should be paid attention to immediately by a plumber - which was a life saver!Brandon's an honest, hardworking guy who goes above and beyond to make sure everything else in his line of sight is up to snuff, which is so important because it prevents small issues from growing into bigger disasters down the line. Cannot recommend him enough!

Greg Smith: Working with Brandon and his crew was far and away the best experience I’ve ever had with a contractor. We were in a stressful situation and needed to get some work done at our house asap. From the moment we met with Brandon we knew everything was going to be ok. He completed the job on time and on budget, was incredibly personable and professional, and the quality of the work exceeded our expectations. From beginning to end we could not have asked for a better experience. Also, he’s one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. Noll Construction will be the first call I make for any future projects at our house.

Yoorie Lu: I found Brandon after getting numerous quotes for our big hillside patio projects. Large companies gave me outrageous quotes and many smaller scale companies/handyman just didn't seem as reliable for this project. We are SO thankful that we found Brandon. He has great artistic vision and craftsmanship. He came over and we shared what we were picturing then he gave us some great suggestions. He is very professional and knowledgeable at what he does, we felt great after our initial meeting with him. And, his quote was very reasonable for everything he's done for us! He designed an amazing space for us and he did beautiful landscaping around it to make it even better!!! I can not thank him enough for transforming our dirt pad into an incredible hillside retreat!

christian lopez: .My wife and I couldnt be happier with the quality of work and service that he provided... I called him on a Thursday evening and he came by the very next day, provided the quote the following morning, and started work a few days after that. We had to go out of town during the job but Brandon made sure the keep us updated daily with progress updates and pictures/videos via text. The fence he built is a better build quality than the first-half of the fence that was built by the previous owner of the house, and Brandon even matched the dark stain perfectly. If i had to do it again I'd hire him in a heartbeat. If you have some fence work to do, definitely consider him in your bids, you won't be disappointed.

jack jack: I needed a creative solution before an inspection and Noll was able to help me pass without any more infractions. Easy to communicate with and I felt secure with his knowledge and quality of work. So easy to work with. Highly recommended!

Miller Andrews: CALL BRANDON!!! This guy is not only the Einstein of contractors! He's very personable, reasonably priced, and in a pinch will help you with jobs that might otherwise have to be trusted to some grumpy, boozy "handyman" with no license. WE have our own Mike Holmes here in Larchmont people - call no one else - you have found your man!

Betsey Kauffman: Noll Construction did a perfect job replacing a redwood fence on my property. Their prices are competitive and they finished ahead of schedule. Brandan made sure we were satisfied with the job and was a good problem solver. I️ recommmend Noll Construction.

Jayk: Several weeks ago I was doing just what you are doing now, reading reviews about candidates to do some contractor work, specifically deck support issues I needed solved and adding a trellis. When I ran across Noll Construction Solutions my eye caught the very satisfied customer consistency. I'm so glad I went with my gut and hired Brandon Noll to do the work. In a nutshell, he did everything he said he would do, and after he promptly supplied a bid, we felt it was a little higher than our budget allowed and he very efficiently and cooperatively reduced the scope of the work to match our budget, which we were very satisfied with and did not compromise the project. He always showed up when he said he would and did exactly what he said he would, on time and with an excellent quality of work, both functionally and aesthetically. We will most certainly be using his services again and we highly recommend him.

Good selection of plywood, trim/molding, and some reclaimed wood. They will do some cuts for you if needed to get your wood home. They stock a full range of finishes, as well as some power and hand tools.

All Level Installations of Finish Carpentry: what do users think?

luis manzo: Positive:Professionalism,QualityVery professional good quality i will definitely recommend to family and friends

Michele Reniche: All Level Installations built a Trex deck in our back yard. It is well built, attractive and solid. Could not be happier with the result. They were always prompt, came when they said they would, and kept me informed about what would happening next. Maria in the office always got back to me immediately when I had questions about cost estimates or billing. Really great to work with. I look forward to working with them on future home improvements.Service:Deck construction

Danna Cook: Positive:Professionalism,Punctuality,Quality,ResponsivenessMartin and Fidell are anamazing team. A pleasure to have reliable people in my home.Service:Custom carpentry services

Robin Gadsby: Positive:Professionalism,Punctuality,QualityMartin was thorough when he was bidding the project and was thorough on execution. I always love it when the person who bids the job is the one who shows up and makes sure it’s done right. Quality work and good communication. Price felt a bit high but all prices right now seem too high to me so it was worth it for the professionalism.

Michael Rodan: Positive:QualityAll Level did a great job installing new tongue and groove wood for our outdoor patio. The end product looks great. Due to lumbar shortages we had one miscommunication, but the All Level team was resonsive and immediately fixed the situation. We're delighted with their work.Service:Installation

Danny Moon: All Level Installation did an excellent job on our project. Martin and crew built a custom staircase to a loft area in our home that was previously only accessible via a metal ladder. From the in home consultation to job completion, it was a pleasure working with the team. We were quoted a fair price and the cost of materials was as quotes. Each day, Martin and the team arrived early, when they said they would, and provided updates on progress. The job was completed on time and we are ecstatic with the results. Highly recommend All Levels.

April Szalas: clean. We needed a new front door and were very particular about style, materials and stain. Martin guided us throughout the process and made some excellent recommendations. The age and style of our home required Martin to use his expertise and craftsmanship to design a frame that not only enhanced the look of the new door, but also stayed true to the overall design of our house. After talking with Martin during the initial visit, we were so impressed with his professionalism and expertise that we decided to also hire him to install two screen doors. As with the front door, there were minor issues that arose with the screen doors. Without missing a beat, Martin provided us with direction and solutions that worked out really well.Martin takes great pride in his work and goes above and beyond until you are 100% satisfied and truly happy with his work.Service:Installation

Sue Johnson: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,Value

JL: These guys were really outstanding. We hired All Level Installations for our climbing room conversion because of their finish carpentry. Martin and his team were serious in their planning, lighthearted in their work, and accommodating of our every request. Martin - who is the president and owner - anticipated and made the right choices for us in all the details. He was personally involved in the entire project. Constructing a wooden frame over our dry wall was a walk in the park, but designing the walls was key. The overhang and arrete Martin suggested became my sons' favorite wall. The angle and surface of the slab matches what we've experienced at nationally prominent climbing gyms. For clean and tight joints, Martin had his team saw through the hard coated panels, wearing down no small number of heavy duty saw blades. We made multiple unusual requests, which they were happy to oblige. To provide dynamic lighting for bouldering videos, Martin and his electrician installed color temperature adjustable, individually dimmable, flush LED wall lights. For protection of the window, Martin came up with a wire cage anchored by high quality carabiners. All Level reversed the entrance door and replaced the closet door handle with a climbing hold, then repainted to match the panel colors. They even built us a couple volumes after studying images and prototyping them with my boys. The entire process was respectful, clean, and smooth.I should acknowledge posting a very similar review on Yelp, but thought it worth repeating this once. We feel lucky to have found All Level Installations and think you will, too.

Manny Haro: Positive:Professionalism,Punctuality,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueAll Level Installations installed doors at my house. They did an excellent job! They were timely, professional, and the craftsmanship of their work is second to none!

Tim Stanton: and when I called Martin I was expecting some push back. Instead he said "sure no problem" and was back in no time. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Albert Estrada: and Martin was able to explain what parts of my vision would be possible and which parts wouldnt, with explanation. My doors and cabinets came out beautifully and I honestly feel the work is one of a kind. I would definitely use All Level Installations again!!

Aaron Hernandez: All Level Installations was extremely professional & prompt! Unbelievable quality work & experience for my home. I had a deck done & ive got many compliments on it thanks to All Level Installations!Amazing price & very friendly staff! Will definitely be recommending them to everyone I know!

Josiah Gamezzz: Reasonable, professional, detailed clean work. I’m very please with the outcome and will be using themAgain for my next home project.. 10 Doors where installed and also installed my kitchen cabinets, love the modern look. Thanks again guys

Joyce Park: I came home late last night around 8:30 pm and discovered that whole house seems like beeping every 2-3 minutes. There are several smoke detectors in the house but never knew that they would all go beeping taking turns. Raul gladly would come and he arrived in less than 30 minutes and solved the mysterious event at senior discounted rate. I am so lucky to found him online. Praise for his professionalism, punctuality and kindness.

Kenneth Sahn: I certainly hit the jackpot when I found Raul and his Company. From the beginning, his communication and response time was spot-on. He was on-time always and detailed every bit of this miscellaneous 15 item job I was offering. From painting and sealing my outdoor hardscape, to fixing rotting areas of doors and pillars, Raul and Ranato did it all beautifully. They did not just cosmetically cover up issues at my home. They went to the core of the problem and fixed that! Raul went way beyond the scope of the project as we worked together to identify all of the issues I had. They were extremely professional and respectful of our house and our time. When he said he would be there... he was!! He was honest and fair with his pricing and NEVER cut corners. I joked with him that I was reluctant to give him such a great review because I have many more jobs for him and want him to myself!! But seriously, you can't go wrong with Raul!Services:Painting,Exterior painting,Home maintenance repairs,General repairs

Frank and Sergio shoed up on time, worked super clean and fast and by that afternoon was no sign for the damage and repair.the week after Raul helped us to replace a shower door at a rental property.both times they did a great job for a very fair price.
