Garnish Music Production & DJ School in Los Angeles: what do users think?

Mohamed Shaban: I did some classes remotely with Garnish. The experience was amazing. They have these special cameras, which pan to whoever's talking in the room, so you really feel like you are in the room with the in-person students. I don't think you'll get that anywhere else

Tracy Chabala: This is such a great school with a wonderful roster of enthusiastic, expert, and encouraging instructors. I feel I learned so much in a short period of time, everything from music theory to sound design to arrangement and far more. I highly recommend! I plan to take more classes over the years!! You make lots of connections as well and have the opportunity to have continual support throughout your music journey.

Shawn Richardson: I began at Garnish a month ago and took the beginning DAW course for Ableton Live. It was absolutely phenomenal and elevated my production so rapidly it made my head spin. Zack Johnson is an outstanding, knowledgeable, and beginner-friendly teacher who will help you look at music through an entirely new lens. I have gained an entirely new fondness and appreciation toward the artists and music I listen to everyday. I am now in the Producer Program and will continue on into the Academy. If you're on the fence, don't walk... RUN to sign up at Garnish!

David_Diaz: I've taken a DJ course here, overall it was a fun and knowledgeable course. Teaching from the very basics to creative and expressive with your mixes.

René Mathussek: Great school! Had an awesome time there and learned a lot in a short amount of time. Both, production and Dj classes are good fun. And you learn from industry professionals, who has been in the music industry for many years.

James Robinson: Garnish is a family vibe. Once you start taking courses you are linked in and they treat you like family. The knowledge you learn is unmatched!

Ross Strome: Took a DJ course. The teacher was phenomenal and the learning complete. Highly recommend.

Danny Denny: This school is an awesome place with a lot of talent and professional teachers. I had a wonderful experience here and I’m sure I will be back. If you are interested in learning and seeing a new and different perspective of the concepts you might or might not already know then this music school will not disappoint! You also get to meet new people and make friends with the same interests as you. Dave and the teachers are super cool as well. Thanks Garnish!

Christian Vivaldi: If you are searching for a school and haven't decided yet. Then look no more! You won't regret anything about coming here!

Casey Weaver: This school is perfect, affordable and you don't just get what you pay for, I felt like I have been given more than I need to do what I need to do. It also fit perfectly with my schedule!

Aria Minx: I love this school out in LA! The classes are small, the teachers are very knoweledgeable, experienced and passionate about their subjects. I've had the fortune to meet many instructors including Dan, Darryl, Darren, Loren, Josh, Joe and Brett so far. Kudos to Dave Garnish for having such an amazing staff! They make the school what it is! Dave is also very responsive to students and cool. The school offers affordable tuition and there's a feeling of family here. Definitely recommend to anyone interested in continuing their path to musical knowledge and growth.

Chynna Hunt: I'm trying to see if I can be there to see what they do and I'll decide if I want to go there for the summer. I also use FL Studio.

Jeffrey Flowers: I would love to go, I'm an EDM producer with really really potential songs, but I use FL Studio, and I don't know if this school is expensive

Marisa Johnson: I had the most excellent experience at Garnish. I came into the class knowing absolutely nothing about Logic, and when the course ended in 4 short weeks, I feel able to start producing! The teachers are great, the class was small so I got individualized attention, and the content was very useful. I definitely recommend this class to anyone who works in music in any capacity: musician, singer, producer, engineer, ect.

IO Music Academy: what do users think?

Zlata Sushchik: the best place to turn your endless ideas into music that you are actually proud of creating. 10/10

Megan Rockey: I just completed the course "Building Blocks," and never did I ever think I would've been able to make a track in ten weeks. I tried learning on my own in a different DAW, but it was really difficult to do so since there weren't a lot of sources and no one to answer my questions. Josh and the other instructors did a fantastic job of structuring the classes so that each week we could build on the skills we learned from the previous classes. Josh was also helpful not only inside but outside the class as well, which I highly appreciate in a teacher. I also appreciate how this school is very affordable. I didn't attend a music production school for the longest time due to the high costs at other institutions. If you're on the fence on attending IO, do it! The school has so much to offer and I can't wait to attend the next quarter of classes.

Details Dea Magna: The first thing I noticed about IO academy is how well structured their learning programs are. You will get a very detailed breakdown of the upcoming lesson together with external links that you can reference in order to best prepare for the class. In class, the atmosphere is such that you can literally ask anything, you are encouraged to share projects that show your progress and given feedback. Teachers are incredibly accommodating and always quick to reply every question you might have. Overall vibe is very warm and friendly, I feel like anyone could feel comfortable learning and advancing in such environment. There are also workshops that you can join covering different relevant topics, sometimes led by famous producers and industry veterans, and lots of opportunities to meet your fellow students and expand your network.

Eliot Droutman: This place is amazing. I just finished my first semester and I'm blown away by how much I have improved. The staff are super chill, the school is full of top notch gear to mess around w, so many synthesizers. I went from having so many ideas that I couldn't execute, to being able to make full tracks. Most I have learned at any school. If you are even thinking about it, just sign up, you'll thank me later!

Matthew Capitani: I’m enrolled on the Black Loops music course and it’s excellent. Nick is very helpful, on time and explains everything clearly. A true professional. The online courses are flawless. Highly recommended!

Jeffrey Zimberoff: IO Music Academy's 12 month program has completely changed the way that I approach making music. When I first started the program, creating music and having a career in the industry seemed impossible. However, the curriculum is laid out in a way that makes sense. Every class builds on the next and the teachers provide you with help whenever you need it. Slowly over the past year, I have learned everything from basic music theory to advanced mixing and mastering concepts. The classroom and studio are neat and orderly and put you in the right mindset whenever you show up.If you are seriously interested in a career in music production and don't know where to start, this is the place. Will this program make you rich and famous? No. But, I am certain that with the skills I learned and with consistent practice I will be able to reach my goals.

Travis Parker: This is i very good school i just registered for april classes just waiting for someone to get back in touch with me

David Bullock: I am currently enrolled in the school and love every aspect of it -it’s a hands-on boutique collaborative experience That allows you to share your creative self in a room with like minded people! I would highly recommend anyone contemplating about getting into it to go take the tour you’ll be glad you did.

Tunemood: If you truly want to make a career out of music production, then IO is your best option, why? 1. Affordable 2. This Faculty cares in a different way 3. They develop the most important aspects you will need and not just hype you up while attending 4. The atmosphere is family oriented 5. Don't take my word for it, ask for a tour and sit down and feel what am talking about.

Artiga PS: IO is a very intimate enviroment to either develop or sharpen your music production abilities, regardless of skill. Personally I enrolled with next to nothing in terms of experience and walked away with a solid knowledege of synthesis, music theory, sound design, arrangement... everything needed to create my own music from beginning to end. The program will save you a tremendous amount of time rather than learning it all on your own. The instructors are super helpful and friendly, providng a safe space for you to express yourself. Thank you guys!

Masha Martinovic: IO is incredible; i've already sent several friends interested in deepening their music production skills to the school and they're all stoked! The classes are small, and you can get so much extra help during the week as well as studio time while you're enrolled in the course. 5 stars for all the teachers, especially Adam Johan!

Brian Macias: I am on the 3rd quarter and I'm deeply saddened that soon my schooling will come to an end here. This Academy has gone beyond my expectations and I honestly learned more than I thought. While learning a lot of new things there's also an amazing team behind it all. Since it's a boutique music school it's pretty intimate so all my questions are pretty much answered and well explained. Literally have zero complaints and I highly reccomend this Academy. New or currently in the music world, I still reccomend attending here!

Jasmine Chen: . They've also brought in a lot of cool guest speakers and producers for the free masterclasses and workshops--like ZHU and people from GOOD Music, Mau5trap, etc. and it's been awesome meeting those people. Highly recommend this place, obviously I love it here.

Den Kayo: I am graduating today from IO Music School. Love the teachers, super knowledgeable and helpful. They have amazing events and discounts for all the plug-ins you need. Highly recommend this school to everyone who wants to stat his/her music career!

Yosi S: I wish I could put 6/5 stars! Had such a wonderful experience at IO. The instructors are knowledgable and patient. The class sizes are small enough in order to get individualized attention, but not uncomfortably small. All-in-all I had a great time at IO and learned so much!!

The Los Angeles Recording School: what do users think?

Emilio Gomez: Best recording school ever 🏽

APOSTLE ALEX ADESANYA KALEJAIYE: Very beautiful and OK

Evelyn Suarez: I am a student here. I love everything about this school. And the security are very nice and helpful.

Good Guy Tree: Great school if you are willing to put in the effort. As is with everything.

A Google User: My school

Shawn Cowen: Can't wait to see and go here one Day

jeff brooks: I graduated in 2010 from the excellerated 9 month certificate program. I had a great time at the school. I only had 3 other people in all of my classes and labs which meant I got a lot of time from the instructors. What I didnt like where all the thugs that attend the school. They make it hard to concentrate in the classroom. In my general classes I was with about 30 other students, nearly 90% never pay attention in class. It made me wonder why they were there. Its not like we were taking a English class or something, it was pretty interesting stuff. I did find it hard to focus in class with all of the other students distractions. I never did get my pro tools certificate....I should have taken advantage of this at the time. However, I sent out about 50 resumes for internships. All of this work yielded me a interview at the biggest studio in North Hollywood. I had 3 interviews and didnt get the dream internship. I ended up getting a internship at a home studio in LA. This was so far from what I wanted but I took it. I ended up spending 90% of my time either cleaning, doing yard work or construction choars around their property. The placement at LARS is very bad in my opinion. No one helped me with anything when it came to placement. Long story short I quit that internship b/c I ran out of money. I have never been back in the industry since 2010. Its a sad story, I spent $28,000 and only got a non paying internship out of the deal! I did have a great time and did learn a lot at the school. I moved to LA from about 1,500 miles away, so this was a huge investment for me and it just didn't work out!!!

Icon Collective: what do users think?

Chris Zizi: Easily the greatest decision I ever made toward personal musical development. This program paved the way for me to become a self-managed artist with a strong grasp on the fundamentals of music production within a year, allowing me to receive a streamlined and thorough education that would have otherwise taken years scouring youtube for tutorials that don't always hit the mark. The people you meet on campus alone makes it worth the investment, let alone the curriculum and the skills you leave with. 11/10, could not recommend this more to any aspiring musician seeking to learn the fundamentals, the proper way, and obtain the toolset to breakout as a self-sufficient musician within the industry.

MICHAEL ANTHONY: Incredible people, incredible experience, trust the process, art of flow, much more than just a music school, I will always be thankful for the family and skills that Icon Collective has given me.

Allie Gross: I booked a one way ticket to LA and started the Music Production Program at Icon Collective. This music school truly gave me the varied skillsets I’ve always been interested in learning like Music Business, The Artist Mindset, Songwriting, Music Theory, Studio Techniques, Ear Training, and Synthesis. Most importantly, the mentoring sessions were top notch! An added bonus was the incredibly supportive community experience. If you’re thinking about the total and complete school for music, the answer is Icon!

Ryan Sarvak: There is truly no substitution in the world for Icon. I call it EDM Hogwarts because just like the school of wizardry you’re being taught by active players in the industry. Every teacher has a career of their own to share a wealth of life experience with students on.

Carter Parham: Icon Collective was an absolutely incredible experience. If you’re ever thinking about taking a chance on yourself, Icon will show you what you’re capable of. The community is so close and supportive. Faculty and staff know everyone by name. This is your sign.

Randy Acord (Dj Ambiguous): Just wow 🙏🏼😎

Zack Fyra: would have taken me at LEAST five years to achieve on my own, maybe even longer. I was constantly pushed out of my comfort zone, such as with learning vocal production and vocal tracking. Now I feel more confident than ever that I'll be able to achieve my goals. Thank you to the instructors and staff that enable a smooth learning experience and thanks ICON, it's been an amazing past year and a half!

JFRANK Music: I was a student at icon this past year and all I can say is, if you are an aspiring artist that’s struggling to figure what the next step should be to level up your game, icon is the way to go. I was able to hone in on my craft while networking and creating amazing friendships from all around the world. I Could not have asked for a better experience. Amazing staff, students and atmosphere! when you get accepted, tell ‘em JFRANK sent ya!

Oliver Shou: I had an absolutely amazing experience at Icon Collective. This music production school is truly a place where your efforts directly translate into results. I discovered valuable lessons from everyone I encountered there. It's an environment that encourages you to push your limits and embrace the possibility of failure. The faculty and staff are incredibly supportive, always ready to answer questions and provide guidance. Moreover, the opportunity to share your music and receive feedback is invaluable. I want to give a special shoutout to the dedicated team behind the scenes, the black lanyards, who work tirelessly to ensure the smooth functioning of the school and create a fantastic work environment. If you're passionate about music production and looking for a school that fosters growth and creativity, Icon Collective is the perfect choice.P.SIf you end up going, go to office hours in person or online. You amount of little gems you pick up over time is invaluable.

Andy Chen: Icon Collective curates an inclusive community that fosters creativity, growth, and excellence. Their world-class staff and constant strive for improvements set them apart from all others. My experience with them, both Online and in LA, has been nothing short of fulfilling.

Aryan Jolly: I can say that Icon Collective is my home away from home. The people at Icon are like a family to me. They made me who I am today. Learning from the greats in the industry really made me a better producer. From state of the art technology to dope teachers and mentors, this place is a no brainer for anyone wanting to become a better version of themselves as a producer and a human being.

Max Amiss: Had a great experience at Icon Collective. Was able to meet some amazing people, connect with skilled staff, and overall extremely level up my producing game. You get out of this program what you put in, so the extra teacher hours and staying late in the studios will propel your producing skills ten fold!

Phrequency: Moved to LA from the Midwest just to go to Icon Collective. NOT A SINGLE REGRET! The only regret I have is not going there sooner

Daria Makarova: The best place you can imagine for learning music!Attitude, professionalism, guests, care and LOTS of stuff done for students! Love ICON from the bottom of my heart💜

Elina Segall: Icon Collective is like no other place out there. I just graduated from the Advanced Music Production Program and my time at Icon has truly been a life changing experience. Icon has challenged me in every way; as a music producer, songwriter, singer, artist and business manager. The advanced program is fast paced and very intense, but so worth it. You will learn the ins and outs of mixing, mastering, songwriting, scoring visual media and develop your own artistry and productions. Also a big shout out to Femme Frequency, a community filled with so many powerful and supportive voices. Much love to the Icon fam!

Recording Connection Audio Institute: what do users think?

Sam Zulfer: I work for Recording Connection and have for 5 years now. Since I started at the company they have been nothing but supportive of me and my efforts to improve our educational offerings. We work to provide the best opportunity for students that we can and many of my past students have gone on to get great jobs in the industry and have also produced amazing pieces of music. We are aware of the negative reviews you may find but like any other school some people are unable to truly take advantage of what we offer. Our school is not a transaction of money for knowledge but an exchange of money for an opportunity to succeed. We do everything we can to set our students up for success but if they are unable to take advantage of that opportunity that blame falls on us many times. I do not blame anyone for this as the industries we are setting our students up to succeed in are not for everyone. I just ask that if you are considering our school, do not let someone else's opinion inform your decision. Reach out to us and we will set you up to succeed as well!

Steve Altman: I went to Albuquerque three weeks ago to shoot a short film with my friend, Dan Grochowski. Turns out he'd done a few projects at a studio called EditHouse...which is where we shot our film.CUT TO: Me editing as we speak. The whirlwind of that shoot at EditHouse went by so fast there wasn't any time to conceive how magical and beautifully everything came together in that single day. From lights to camera to action and beyond, every one these folks were spot on, eager to please and as professional as anything I've ever seen in Hollywood. And as a family owned operation for decades, it makes you wish every place in life was as accommodating, friendly and wonderful to be around. Thank you so much Ed, for a truly memorable experience. Can't wait to see y'all at the screening! Steve Altman

Kyle Connon: My Review of the Artist and Producer ProgramKyle ConnonSo I just completed the artist and producer program with RRFC and I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience. I worked with two fellow producers who are, my academic facilitator Sam Zulfer and my mentor Lance “Blaqout” Dean. Both were extremely knowledgeable and helpful, I feel like I gained two friends during this process. With the help from my mentor Lance I gained knowledge on how to navigate thru the intimidating part of the music industry, and all about branding yourself which was something I had never thought of. On top of that his extensive knowledge with using Abletons being able to show me anything I couldn’t understand or figure out was explained and shownn to me, also helped me hookup my own hardware and sync it thru my DAW . Sam my facilitator was the person I spent most of my time with meeting with him 3 times a week via zoom. I couldn’t be happier being linked up with him, Sam along with his extensive and impressive background in audio engineering and studio productions, and impressive knowledge in Ableton, was able to help my productions go from something I didn’t wanna show people to having songs on all major streaming apps and a catalogue of new tracks waiting to be picked up by record labels. He showed me how to turn my music into professional quality tunes. What to hear for in Eqing frequencies knowing what is causing the problem and fixing it. Anything from how to make my melodies more catchy to the tweaks needed to be made in the mastering process. On top of doing all this also sharing back n forth with both Sam and Lance music that we like with one another and just talking music was amazing. So I will highly recommend this school and course to anyone. Thank you to Lance and Sam for your time and effort and for actually giving a damn, and thank you too everyone at RRFC anyone I delt with was very helpful and extremely polite and friendly.

MALIKTHEGAUD: Recording Connection has been a great learning experience for me and made me a better audio engineer within the past six months. My mentor and academic advisor helped me out a great deal. This program have changed my life and given me a strong step forward in this industry.

Tony Holloman: My experience with RRFC has been nothing less than elevation within my musical journey. As a musician, it helped transform my approach of music from playing to actual production, arrangements and sonically sound finished product. I would recommend anyone novice or pro to take this course to gain a better understanding of what it takes to have studio grade music by working with and getting hands on experience with highly experienced producers and sound engineers within a studio setting to grasp all the nuances and details of what is used for each musical element and why.

Philip Plazewski: This course was exactly what I was hoping to find when I first began looking for programs that could instruct and train me in audio production. The info given is very detailed and you are provided with mentors along the way who are willing to help you at any stage in your journey as musician or audio engineer. the highest of recommendations to anyone who is interested in learning audio production or sound design regardless of whether you are a beginner or having been producing for years

DZ: Taking the course definitely expanded my knowledge in things especially protools having never worked in it but diving into it with the help of my mentor made it smooth sailing. I was already well versed in production and recording for many years so I felt many things wouldn't be news to me but I still ended up learning a lot and I'm looking forward to connecting with people and opportunities this can present for me.

Christopher Handy: Alex Solis is the man. We got along from the moment we spoke. He always pushed me to do my best, even when I was unsure of myself. He is an excellent engineer and is very knowledgeable in his field. As a great academic advisor, he truely deserves this 5/5. 🚀🤟🏻

Khoi Vinh: It's really good environment, My mentor is Mike, he shows me cool crazy things in his Eravox Studio that it takes a long time for me to know if I did not meet him. Also outside the studio, School has people to help you with everything you need in music industry, I luckily meet Alex has helped me improve my mixing skills. RRFC will open the door and show you how to improve your skills and your knowledge, just be ready and put into work

Michael Davis: This had definitely been a transformative experience for me in how I produce/mix my music and how I hear music! It has taken my skill set to a whole new level and my creativity has blossomed. My understanding of the industry and my perception of my own abilities have grown tremendously.

Saturn Parker: This is my second time editing my review. The first was a great one, the second was a bad one. After careful consideration, I would just like to say the way you feel about this music school depends on what you expect to get out of it. In the creative arts, there will likely be struggles and frustrations, and if you have to vent those, then vent, but don't let that have the final say. What I can tell you with confidence is that in the 6 months it takes to graduate, you should be able to develop a course of direction for where you can go with your abilities, and a better understanding of what it takes to better yourself as a talent.

Diego Aure: Great learning experience. You will get to work and learn from professionals.

kaleb Bunyard: I really enjoyed my experience with Recording Connection, from the Material it provides to the mentors you have access to, and if your looking to get a foot in the door of audio engineering this program is really helpful.

Ethan Osgood: learning environment that a traditional four-year college would struggle to achieve. With a student-to-mentor ratio as low as theirs, it really makes any personal roadblocks you stumble across in the curriculum so much easier to address. RRFC mentors also have real experience in the industry, which helped me as a student understand certain materials that were covered from a different perspective.

Adam P: Joining this program was the best decision I ever made. Having previously attended a university to study audio but dropping out after 2 years due to cost and many other factors, RRFC was everything I had been hoping to gain from an education on sound. I was able to spend an incredible amount of time in a professional studio learning its ins-and-outs and working on recording and mixing techniques. My mentors were all immensely helpful and informative. I would recommend RRFC to anybody looking for this sort of education.

Ranellesa Zizi: Going through the Pro Tools Audio Engineering program has really been an amazing experience! I have been able to learn so much and meet such great mentors to lead me on my path to success. I am so confident that I will be successful in the musical industry because of the knowledge I’ve acquired through RRFC.

Kao Yang: Great school to work with, it was great getting paired with a studio/mentor along side going through the lessons
