Dr. Jessica Fishman was born and raised in Los Angeles. She was lucky enough to always know she wanted to be a veterinarian. All through her childhood her family referred to their household as the “Fishman Zoo” because of all the animals she rescued growing up. Dr. Fishman always had a desire to take care of all creatures. Even as a child she would rescue animals whether it was a bird that fell down the sewer drain, a toad from Topanga Canyon with a broken leg or a baby crow that fell from the chimney vent. Dr. Fishman considers herself lucky to have found a career that combines her love for animals and passion for medicine. Eventually having her own animal hospital was a lifelong dream that has come true with the opening of Larchmont Village Vet.

Dr. Fishman stayed local and remained in Southern California for her college and graduate education. She attended Occidental College while working at a small animal hospital in Los Feliz. Dr. Fishman attained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences. After veterinary school she enjoyed her time working at a private practice in West Hollywood. She was fortunate to gain extra experience working alongside an Internal Medicine Specialist, Surgeon, Dentist and Cardiologist. Dr. Fishman also started a company for in-home veterinary services and enjoyed seeing cats and dogs in their own environment. Her last career move before Larchmont Village Vet involved helping start up an animal hospital in Downtown Los Angeles. After leaving downtown Dr. Fishman decided she had finally gained enough experience and courage to start up her own practice. She is excited to finally have a location to call home where she can see all the wonderful clients and their pets that she has met over the years.

Dr. Fishman’s professional interests include preventative wellness care, acupuncture, dentistry, dermatology and geriatric care. Caring for the pets of Larchmont Village and surrounding areas is a dream come true for Dr. Fishman.

Dr. Sarah Haddy received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to this, she received a B.S. in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience at the University of Michigan. A Louisville, Kentucky native, she believes that pets bring an enormous source of joy to our lives. Dr. Haddy knew she wanted to pursue a career in veterinary medicine at a very young age, motivated by a desire to ease both animal and human suffering. She began practicing in Los Angeles immediately after graduating, and has never looked back. She considers herself very lucky to practice a career that brings her so much happiness.

In her spare time, Dr. Haddy loves playing the violin and tries to learn new pieces as often as she can. Being from the Bluegrass State, that genre of music tends to be her favorite. Dr. Haddy also enjoys hiking and finding new trails to explore with her dogs Franklin, a Great Pyrenees, and Penny, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

Dr. Hu’s veterinary roots began early as she was always bringing home stray animals which her parents graciously let her keep. She grew up on the East Coast as well as overseas; after high school she returned to the States for college and graduated cum laude from the University of California, San Diego with a degree in Animals Physiology and Neuroscience. While applying for veterinary school she worked in a research lab studying Alzheimer’s disease. She graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2007 and immediately afterwards she completed a small animal internship at Advanced Veterinary Care Center in the South Bay which gave her lots of hands on-experience. Dr. Hu’s main interests lie with internal medicine cases as well as caring for new puppies and kittens! Other than veterinary medicine, she loves to spend time with her husband, son and 4 other fur babies.
