Melissa Connie: studio for the last few years, and I must say that I am still always away by the experience. The studio is clean, and welcoming. Emily Fischer: Love this gym! It's on the smaller side which is great because the trainers are able to work with every single one of their members. I love that they feel like an actual community and are so supportive of each members' passion outside of the gym. Whether it be an art show, yoga journey, etc.During covid, they offer live zoom sessions, and even if you're not able to make those times they send out the class via recording so you can make it up on your own time! Overall, this has been a great community especially during the pandemic, and excited to continue with them.

Jessica Cueva: Surfcore is the gym for anyone. What I mean by that is that if you’re new to working out, the trainers will walk you through it. If you’re not new to it, the workouts and trainers will work you hard!Before Surfcore, I was that gym-goer that needed a workout buddy to even think about stepping into a gym. I realized that this gym was different when I didn’t think twice about showing up to class by myself. They have created an environment and community that is beyond welcoming and supportive. How many people can say they have trainers that will text you to check in if you’ve missed a couple classes or to make sure you leave your house a few minutes early so you make it to class on time? Well I can say that surfcore does that. This gym is everything and the people that run it are some of the best people out there.

Azin Espahbod: Favorire place to workout. The classes are fun and the trainers are great. They walk around and correct your form which is really important.

Thomas Mendolia: I did as many personal workouts you can imagine, from the apps, to the strategies from YouTube fitness stars. Nothing stuck with me until I did F45. I became part of the 100 club purely because it made exercise enjoyable, and when I finished I felt like I had accomplished something big for the day. All the trainers were incredibly gracious and helpful. Paul was always personally attentive and pushed me further than I thought I could go. Amanda and Angela were always a foundational smiling face that made class such joy, starting my day with happiness. Anthony definitely pushed me the furthest with his tough love approach, every time I finished a class with him I was proud of myself. And Jacobo brought such a unique and motivating energy that filled my soul each time. These were my core trainers that I had class with, each with their own individual style that gave me exactly what I needed in my fitness journey, and beyond. Even the newer trainers such as Kara were developing their unique brand of motivation that made going to F45 every day a unique experience. To me, that's what I needed in an exercise, something fresh every time. Unfortunately for me, I moved away, but I will miss the friends I made, and I will miss this group of trainers that guided me past my initially perceived limits. Thank you to all of you.

Andrew Chao: I've been a full time member here for 6 months now, but I've been coming on and off for the last 2 years. It's a great community. You don't get the peer pressure to go too hard like you might in a crossfit class. Don't get me wrong, you'll want to push yourself because of the music and hype. There's screens in front of every section of stations so regardless if you're a more experienced lifter or not, it's nice to have a visual cue when a trainer can't be quickly available. Trainers are always walking around keeping eye out on form, or they'll help out at the ones that are a bit more complex.

Cheryl Saguros: Paul is great at providing guidance to help you reach your goals. By the end of the Challenge I lost 6.6 lbs. in body weight, had 15% fat loss and lowered my body fat % by 2.7%. I was really happy with the results and I even won the Coach's award, which was a surprising bonus!To continue the momentum, in September 2023 I signed up for my next 45-day Challenge. This time I didn't count macros since the healthy eating habits that I established from the previous Challenge carried over. I found that I craved healthier foods, which satisfied my appetite so I didn't need to eat as much or overeat. I continued to work out daily at the gym and that helped me get stronger. Back in May I could barely do one unassisted pull-up. Now I am up to 7 unassisted pull-ups. I found that consistency is key to get to this point. By the end of the second Challenge I lost 11.7 lbs. in body weight, had 20% fat loss and lowered by body fat % by 2.8%. I ended up being the female winner for the Challenge!In the last 4 months I have lost over 20 lbs. in body weight

Dellara Ward: When I used to live in LA I had heard about Jay from his own life and accomplishments, but then I heard that he had a training program??? I had to be a part of that! Everything and everyone made this an amazing experience. It felt like we were all part of the same team and all developing together. I also met Jay personally and he is one of the greatest people you'll ever have the pleasure of meeting. So inspirational, so motivational, and just an all around great guy. Alongside him is Marcella, and basically everything great about him is complimented by her. Can't write much more because of space but 100% would recommend checking Bootcamp LA out if youre in the area and you want to get back in great shape or maintain what you have and find a new family while you do it!

I haven’t been to the La Brea tar pits in years since I was a kid and it is the most beautiful park in the middle of Los Angeles and there was even a free parking!

I totally love it I can’t believe I was working out in a gym indoors when there’s a huge beautiful park in the middle of Los Angeles. There is street parking and there was a big grassy hill and stairs and we do weightlifting and running and all the stuff we did in high school soccer practice and everyone there is really really nice and I have the best time. It’s like the best hour of my day

The name Boot Camp sounds a little intimidating but it’s totally more like fun camp. Come on out and give it a try I will see you to. there.

Brad WIlson: I really love going to this outdoor fitness program. I have been meaning to try it for about five years it’s like all of my friends have gone and said how great it is. So I finally went now I see what everyone is talking about. The major and the lieutenant as they are called, Jay and Marcella. Or a husband and wife team who really care about people and try to make the most fun out of working out. The setting of the Boot Camp is really unbelievable it’s this huge park in the middle of Los Angeles that I didn’t even know was there. It’s at the La Brea tar pits right on Wilshire Boulevard. There’s a big free parking lot which is worth so much in this day and ageI can’t say enough.

Roberto Arriaga: I moved to LA and gained 30 pounds in the first year. I couldn’t find a gym that I liked or a regimens to stick to that worked. I had almost given up when I found BootCampLA. It’s locates outdoors, at the George C Paige Museum and ahas plenty of parking. I gave it shot and Jay, the trainer, managed to encourage, pace exercises for all ages and tailor each exercise to accommodate injuries, level of fitness and make it fun. I learned about nutrition along the way and after the first month, I lost 10 pounds. In 3 months I lost 39 and put on muscle . Clothes, I thought would never fit again, not only fit again but looked great. It changed my life and I’ve managed to keep in shape and the weight off ever since. Plus, Jay is a great trainer with a good sense of humor and I was never bored it thought about quitting. I found the person I was meant to be under all that weight and met some of the best down to earth people in Los Angeles along the way.

Rayna Downs: LOVE!!! And I don’t even like working out. The class starts off with a run and then weights. Everyone is exceedingly nice and the Major does an excellent job of correcting your form and letting you know your progress week by week. It’s like getting a personal trainer without the cost.

Mireya Kosonoy: started a 30 day challenge for those that cannot make bootcamp because of work, school, kids, distance etc. With my baby I wasn’t able to go to the gym AT ALL! But I was able to do the challenge after my son’s bedtime. I started feeling better within a week of the challenge. It lifted my spirits! I highly recommend that one as well!

Durk Jorritsma: I love this workout, after running 5 marathons, my best weight was 222. Once I joined and took some direction I dropped an additional 20 lbs and totally toned up. The groups all seem like family. And fitness levels completely vary. I recommend it to all my friends.

Honestly, I started it somewhat non seriously but once I started to see results, I got very into it.The schedule is flexible, the classes are small enough for individual attention, and the facility rocks. Special shout out to Johnny, Kyle, and Erika for always bringing the energy to class! The music is fun and the environment meets you where ever you're at.Can't believe I'm saying this but I couldn't recommend the team at plyo if you're looking to get in great shape and learn weight lifting form at the same time! When I work out by myself in the gym I procrastinate and rarely get anything done but here I was motivated by the instructors and other fellow gym members. The instructors are highly qualified and down to earth. My favorites were Erica and Johnny.I took some Plyometrics classes as well and even though they are good I wouldn't take too many of those in a row if you have weak knees.Overall I like Plyo fitness, it's a straight-to-the-point kind of studio, the staff is super sweet and qualified and there's a sense of community that might be lacking in other studios.

Fredrika Schoberth: Plyo fitness is a great gym if you want variation in your workouts. They have weightlifting, HIIT-workouts, meditation and yoga in the same membership. The staff are amazing and super helpful. I always have a great time when I go to the gym and it keeps my motivated to go back.

Meagan McCall: via the alley in the back, then take the stairs up from the garage, make a right, then take those stairs to the top floor, turn right again, and you’ll see the sign pointing to Pure Barre.You’ll shake, and they push you harder than you can push yourself, but since it’s just for short amounts of time you can do it! After just a few weeks, I definitely noticed more definition and strengths, especially in my glutes and abs.

What it has taught me, how much stronger, more confident and proud it has made me, and the people I have met and the special relationship I built with my absolute world class trainer, Felix!I knew from research, reviews, and their track record, UP was next level when it comes to training and PT caliber but I didn’t expect THIS and certainly never thought I could look anything close to the people on their results wall. Killian is so detail-oriented and he communicates perfectly about body position and equipment use which results in effective and safe work-outs.As "mature women", we know that weight loss, firming and toning is more difficult as we age but the UP program makes it very doable. The nutrition plan is not a diet and the training is not about over-the-top cardio. Rather it is a combination of good healthy eating and effective exercise.I just want to add that other trainers in the Brentwood UP gym are also friendly and very supportive. The gym-equipment is a superior quality and kept exceptionally clean, as are the locker rooms, showers and ammenities. I love going there !As others have commented, I can't recommend UP enough. What I love about UP is that they are data and results driven and have an incredible team that is highly trained and knowledgeable. I learned so much and was able to push myself more than I had ever before. Shout out to my trainer Mark who did a wonderful job being encouraging and keeping sessions fun, but also pushing me hard when I needed it.

Eddie has a gift of extreme thoughtfulness and patience to push me to and past my limits, even and especially on the days I show up on the struggle bus.I have worked with several trainers at other well-known gyms, and I can whole-heartedly say, Eddie and UP belong in a whole other category. The combination of the workout regimen with nutrition, sleep, and continuous tracking of it all, it’s far more than just personal training. I am the strongest I’ve ever been and he got me in 3 months what it took several years with other trainers.Eddie has also helped me work toward finding balance in my nutrition, in sleep, and leaning into other aspects of self-care. At the end of the day, you have to do the work, and if you do, the results are real. Eddie is a magnificent guide at keeping you accountable and helping you to get the job done.One final aspect of UP I’d be remiss not to note is that there’s a built in mini community at the gym. Everyone is mostly doing their own thing with their trainer, but you see familiar faces on similar schedules and sometimes when you’re pushing the prowler for the nth time, getting cheered on by other trainees, as well as other trainers is just what you need to hear. So thank you if you’ve been on the delivering end!

Edward Meloyan: Hello, my name is Edward & I’ve been going to Ultimate Performance for almost 9 months. The journey has been amazing & will continue. My trainer, Eddie Escobar is the most amazing trainer I have had in my life. He is so caring, nice, calm, motivational, inspirational, & goal driven. He has helped me lose about 45 pounds & still continues to transform me. He definitely gets all the credit! To be honest, to me, from watching all the trainers train their clients, he’s the best one. He is always on top of his game and knows exactly what to do to help you understand the exercise correctly. I am proud to be trained by him 3 times a week, every week.The gym itself is very nice, clean, and you get the feeling of safety when you’re there with your personal trainer. I’ve been to a couple of high end gyms, and had personal trainers there, but they did not transform me as fast and as easily as Ultimate Performance. I am a proud member of this gym. I wouldn’t recommend another.I started off at this gym at 220 pounds and the lowest I’ve been has been 173 pounds. I mean, incredible right? In only 8 months! To be honest, before I started I had a gastric sleeve surgery 5 months prior to my starting date at ultimate performance. After the first 4 months of surgery, I was down 40 pounds. I was at 250 pounds prior to surgery and I went down to 210 pounds. But on the 5th month post surgery, I gained 10 pounds back and was feeling hopeless and miserable. I realized it’s time to put in some hard work, so I joined Ultimate Performance in the hopes of becoming 5% body fat. Well after almost 9 months I went from 30% body fat to 17.5% body fat. I will continue going to this gym until I am 5% body fat and after that I will most likely stay at this gym to grow bigger muscles.I also want to thank the founder of Ultimate Performance, Nick Mitchell, for starting this amazing gym full of the most educated personal trainers. The gym truly does stand up to the words “Worlds leading Personal Trainers”. I see him at times at the Brentwood location where I go and he is very inspirational to me by just being himself and training hard.Again, thank you Eddie! Coming to UP really changed the game for my personal fitness, diet and mentality towards my health and well being. I've gotten stronger, lost weight, and feel really great about the progress I've been making. Each session I can lift a little more and I am jazzed to come back. Eric Kim: Ultimate Performance lives up to its name and the results photos used to advertise their services. They can seem too good to be true, but my trainer Julian Leano and I achieved the results as advertised. I went from 176 to 158lbs in 12 weeks and achieved the six pack I never had in my 37 years of existence. I signed up for another year and hope to add ten pounds of muscle while maintaining a lean aesthetic physique. If you’re hoping to transform your appearance, confidence, discipline, and lifestyle, this is the place to do it!PS- Julian is great at accommodating injury and limited range of motion into the training plan. I struggle with a shoulder injury and have had poor mobility/flexibility my whole life. We’re actively working to improve on all this while working on our lifts.

Tali Livni: I joined UP about 4 months ago. I saw all of those amazing transformation photos that they have everywhere and couldn't possibly imagine that I'd ever be one of those stories. I had tried by myself so many times and had never made any real progress without going to extremes. I knew I was doing something wrong but didn't know what. I was looking for a place that could help me understand both nutrition and exercise rather than going to different specialists for each. UP delivered! I've had the pleasure of having Killian as my trainer and simply am astounded that the progress we've made. He's caring and can share tough truths with support. I've surpassed my goals and have learned valuable tools that I intend to take with me for life. They say this isn't a gym to stay at long-term but I can't imagine continuing on my journey without Killian and the UP team! If you're serious about your health and fitness, I cannot recommend this enough!

Marissa Lepor: Love bunda! I’ve been going for years. It’s a great way to build endurance in a low impact environment, and it compliments my other workouts very nicely!

Gloria Davila (Gloree): Bunda is a great place to workout! It’s a great way to start your gym journey! This class helps with forms and already set workout routines making it so easy to workout! You just have to show up and do your best. I had Ray as my instructor for my first class ever at bunda Music was fire and Ray was very motivating! It’s a bit fast pace for first timers but I’m sure you get use to it with time! I ended up buying their package deal because I loved it so much!

Gloria Castellanos: Love the balance between weights, cardio and bands. If you’re looking for a good workout that hits it all this it’s it! You won’t be disappointed! I like intense workouts and mainly do heavy weights and this has been an amazing addition to my workout schedule to mix it up.
