Cristina Bacca: Huge shout out to Dan!!! If you need personal training he is the absolute best. He will have you laughing while he kicks your butt. My fiancé and I have been doing private sessions with Dan to get ready for our wedding and I am so impressed at his ability to personalize workouts that meet both of our needs, even though our movement histories, strength levels, and goals are widely different. We look forward to working out with Dan all week and are noticing some serious results in our bodies, both aesthetically and athletically. Thank you, Dan!!!!!!Pharos in general is a 10/10 gym. The group classes are VERY challenging but I think the teachers make them accessible for everyone who shows up, too. The facilities are always super clean, never crowded, and good vibes all around with the staff and members. An east side gem!

The entire staff is very helpful, friendly and courteous and a complete and varied array of classes are offered for any fitness pallette. One can clearly discern and feel the passion for member satisfaction. I fell in love with this facility and staff very quickly. I would recommend Pharos Athletic Club to anyone interested in fitness and general wellness.

All the other reviewers are on point and the consistent positive feedback absolutely lines up with my experience: the gym nails the fundamentals first and foremost, ie it’s clean, the machines are in great condition, there’s plenty of supplies / attachments / equipment. I never have to wait extensively or feel rushed in my workout.On the community front - it’s just a group of nice people who like to work out. The trainers are friendly and open but absolutely not pushy like they would be at a chain gym hustling to find clients.Overall as a member I feel like they give me exactly that I want at a price that I find fair. Can’t ask for much more!

A.J. Lewis: Super experienced trainers and cool communal vibe. Great local spot to workout and get strong. All kinds of classes—from lifting, to hiit, to stretching. All around excellent gym.

Miguel De Pedro: This is place is truly unique and wonderful, I am honestly impressed at how much work they have put into making this gym into so much more than just a gym, the amenities , equipment and rooms are all top notch. it is clearly a passion project for the people behind the scenes. None of the trainers here ever seem like they are phoning it in. They are super nice and helpful but it doesn’t feel forced or insincere. All the members seem great as well. definitely good vibes all around. This is a great gym for people who want to take lots of classes and vary their workouts between different activities and levels.

DJ Mendelsohn: This is an excellent gym. They have everything I need in one large open floor. There is plenty of space even when it is crowded.

Whitny Ybarra: This location is always immaculate everywhere including the locker rooms and restrooms are always completely stocked. Not to mention that they are all very decent people that judge nobody. It's a great place that I'm thankful existed and helped me when I needed it the most! Thanks guys!

It can be busy at some times.With all the positive I am thinking of changing my gym and move to another one since they do mot provide towels. I am used to using the sauna or pool after the gym and it is not convenient to bring my towel everyday. Specially when I use the sauna.

Em Allyn: This is a beautiful and very welcoming facility. There's a full gym, children's classes and activities, and both a lap pool and a smaller, family pool. There's a great spa/hot tub and in the locker rooms are both saunas and steam rooms. There are fitness and aqua fitness classes for adults and seniors. All the employees are friendly and helpful. I am so glad I joined this facility!!!!!

Molly Kron: I took Body Groove class with Nikki and had the absolute time of my life!When I first heard of Body Groove, I wasn’t sure about the style of dance or how difficult it would be. I have taken a lot of dance classes over the years, and this one was the easiest to pick up by far. All the moves that the class does in unison are open to interpretation, and there are no wrong answers! Seriously! If you’re rusty, have two left feet, or you’ve never even danced before, you can joyfully dance your way through this class. AND if you’re an accomplished dancer, you will have a blast expressing yourself and get a great workout.Nikki was a fabulous teacher: hilarious, uplifting, and great at breaking down the moves. She was attentive to the needs of everyone in class, providing thoughtful options for modifications that still felt fully engaged with the dances. As a bonus, she had so many creative interpretations of the motions that it was fun to watch her for inspiration throughout the songs. I don’t know how anybody on earth could have gotten through even a few minutes of this class without a huge smile on their face.It felt like having an energetic dance party with friends on a weekday morning! I had so much fun that I didn’t even notice that I was doing an insane amount of cardio. Go check it out! You will not regret it!

Sara Rutenberg: I took Body Groove which is taught by Nikki Tilmouth. I always feel like an idiot in dance class, but this was no ordinary dance class. Nikki's exuberant enthusiasm, choice of music, and amazing choreography made everything easy to follow, and I had a wonderful time. If you want to have fun, dance, and just feel great about your body, take this class. There are even chairs to use as props, or if you need to do some sitting movement!. It's truly unique and you will enjoy every minute.

Jim Kara: Amazing public pools in such a great location!At the far south end of the Rose Bowl Stadium parking lot, there’s two large pools and one small one.I’ve been here twice, having had an uncrowded and enjoyable time on both occasions.The pools are well maintained and while popular with a full parking lot, there still seems to be adequate space to swim!Great after taking in the local loop trails, especially in warmer weather!While in the area, kids may also enjoy going to the Pirate Park. The whole family may partake as well at the nearby Brookside Park.

It really feels like having two personal trainers but it's even more fun to be in the space with a few other people. They have been really watching me lately as Ive been dealing with injuries. I couldn't recommend this gym more!

They have constantly adjusted my workouts to ensure I am making progress as efficiently as possible and even integrated mobility exercises into my routine. If you’re looking for the accountability and structure of personal training at a fraction of the price of most other options, look no further. Highly recommend.

The attention to cleanliness, social distancing etc was fantastic, so I felt safe and comfortable there immediately.I had some physical issues causing me pain, primarily acetabular labral tear in my right hip. My doctor suggested muscle strengthening via weight training and I found Lift on a Google search.I have been going once per week and I have been really happy with my progress. I have been getting stronger and am in significantly less hip pain than I was prior to starting. It's challenging in all the right ways and I look forward to going.Dirk and Chenell are both excellent. They are kind, patient and great teachers. I have always found teacher/trainer correction important in yoga and I value the same at Lift, so I'm able to get stronger and not hurt myself. Chenell is also great about reminding me which exercises are which. You'd think I'd know by now, but she's always really patient and nice when I'm looking at my list of things to do and look super confused, haha.It's also a great atmosphere, no judgement, good music.Thank you, Lift!
