OMAR A. MUHAMMAD, TH.M: The Society of St. Vincent de Paul claims it is the largest thrift store in Los Angeles, which certainly seems true. Upon entering, it feels like an indoor swap meets market. The store offers a great variety of items for purchase, ranging from washing machines to automobiles and from large house furnishings to kitchenware and small appliances. While I found the prices fair, they were too high for my budget. Nonetheless, there is something at this thrift store for everyone. I plan to return when I have more time and money to explore further.

Mary Mojica: . Top floor is all clothing and accessories. Bottom floor is furniture, housewares, etc. Top floor is organized, everything price tagged. Mostly clothes from the late 80s, 90's+. Found lots of 50s vintage treasures here including handbags and dresses. I regularly donate plus size fashion, lots of plus size jeans and pinup finds. Definitely worth a visit. Donation hours are m-f 8am-3pm, Saturday donations can be taken to the green gate on side from 10-5.
Daniel Stevens: I really like this thrift store. I have been there twice now, about 6 months apart, and have had a great experience each time. As mentioned there are 2 levels, clothing upstairs and household stuff downstairs.The staff are really nice. I mainly go for clothes, but was eyeballing some furniture today, which they had a decent amount. The clothing sizes have been kept in order on the racks for the most part, making it easy to find my size. I have found great stuff each time I have gone, from a nice rain coat, dirt cheap, to a very nice complete dress suit setup and a couple of tshirts for dirt cheap.I'm not sure what the people with negative reviews are expecting. This is a thrift store after all, not Santa Monica Place or Fig At 7Th. But you are going to have issues with people every now and then wherever you go.

I got a very nice ceramic cup that comes with tea strainer when you want to drink tea and the strainer comes off and it can be used for coffee and it has a lid. Larry Wiener: My house was flooded and I needed new furniture and many new household items. I heard about ,Son of a Vet. I decided to try it out. I was not disappointed.The shop is full of vintage furniture and many, many kitchen items such as food storage and dishes. Most of their stuff is in really good condition.The owner is very helpful and much of the merchandise is very high in quality. I bought a lazy boy recliner a living room table and several kitchen serving pieces. Very reasonably priced, fairly close to what I see in charity thrift stores.The store was a godsend for my needs. I wish I had discovered it earlier. It would have saved me a lot of running around. If you are just setting up a house or an apartment from scratch, this is a great place to start to get good merchandise at a good price.The person at the counter was very helpful.Parking is a little bit crowded. One time I had to park two blocks away, but it was worth the walk.

Employees were kind and chill and lent a hand when we needed help.Luis, the Owner of the shop helped my family out. We were looking for a hospital bed for my immobile sister and he actually had one. We told him how she became disabled, and how we had been struggling to look for a hospital bed. Luis had sympathy for us and actually offered the bed for free. Initially we denied and tried to compromise for such a resourceful item but he insisted. He told us that if we truly needed it to take it. At that point we didn't hesitate to agree. He willingly put his intent to profit to the side, and for this we could not be any more grateful. Thank you, Luis.

He regaled my friends and I with stories of the many interesting customers he's served, as well as stories behind many of the pieces themselves. A five star experience in every possible way.Most importantly, Nick provides above the bar customer service. I bought a bunch of stuff including a really heavy old dresser. He gave me a good deal on it since it needed fixing up, and when it came time to pick it up, he refused to let me drive in the pouring rain and instead enlisted a colleague to deliver the dresser to me, for much less than I would have spent on a uhaul. This place and Nick are truly iconic and I can't wait to come back for more!!

Othman Hafdi: This is an LA hidden gem, you can find some very interesting vintage items, from a 1920s 18mm projector, to silver or gold vintage jewelry, there is something for everyone, and the prices are fair for what you get. And do add to it the lady that works there is just lovely, great spirits which are not very common at thrift shops.

William Guest: I began going to this store when they 1st opened. They are on a street that runs right along San Fernando Road. This means that parking is never a worry. Good thing too since I almost never leave empty handed.They have all the regular thrift store stuff as you would expect. But what I give them the highest marks for is the books and framed art. While you can get Jackie Collins here, you will also find art books, and small press travel books that are hard to even find. I took a fancy to a well framed watercolor which was priced at 16 plus change, and found E bay offering a similar work from 500 to 1500.

Sammie Peters: Such a fun thrift store. they sell clothing that has been worn in shows and movies. The lower floor has a lot of the cheaper items and has really good deals. The upper floor has some pricier things. They have codes for the shoes things were on but I wish they had more sheets of it so I didn't have to keep running back to the mirror to check. Workers were helpful and friendly.

I do miss the location in the pico Robertson area, but it’s still worth the drive to Burbank.There’s really something for everyone. You can buy the highest of high-end, if you want to spend a little money, and you can get incredible clothes for just a couple bucks, if you want to stay on the cheap.My cousin loves to ask the cashier which show/series/movie each piece of clothing came from, and who wore it. The tags all have codes indicating their origins.
